I guess @ianpspurs will be celebrating. That was just as draining as the Liverpool game.
Never in doubtI guess @ianpspurs will be celebrating. That was just as draining as the Luverpool game.
Thanks very much for this recipe - I shall try it. Where do you get the polysorbate 20?

Hope this helps think they stock in Waitrose too but not sure if any where else
What does it taste like? It looks so delicious, I miss my madeira cakes, and I can't bake!!!
You aren't alone - I also feel and look like I'm having a prolonged hot flush when my BGs are higher than they should be and the higher they go the warmer the flush. I just assumed everyone got this.
@zauberflote please excuse my ignorance but what is, or where do I find, your CMT? The cake looks very tasty. I am not sure however that a pound cake would be a sensible thing to have in as I would eat it I am a sugar addict and if it is there I have to eat the lot but I do miss cake and the crunch of biscuits.Mostly tastes like a variety of pound cake. Needs more butter, but I'll address that later. It's in my CMT if you'd like to try it.
Read the article mostly in sadness as we are selling this property with 12 well established varieties of apple tree. Noticed it argued for a tennis ball sized apple - limits the varieties I know of somewhat.I’ve just read an article from VeryWellHealth about the positive effects of apples for diabetes.

They conclude that although an apple has about 16 gms of carbs, the advantages outweigh that. I hope so- I really miss apples!
Oh no! Didn’t know about them. I’m taking long sleeves and thick socks so all over protection ( which pretty much guarantees we’ll have a heatwave)
@dunelm and @shelley262 my dad had this book and could probably have told you the correct medicinal dose of merlot. Ive no idea where its got to now but I’m tempted to buy another copy

Oooooh,.................... You need the trade marked, patent pending F&M Anti-Mosi all natural (usually) potion.
In a 100ml spray bottle, c10ml citronella oil, c10ml tea tree oil, c10ml polysorbate 20 (optional emulsifier), and top up with water.
Shake well before use and spray on exposed areas.
If there's any broken skin, a small amount of Dettol or Savlon can be added to help the tea tree oil's antiseptic efforts.
In this hacienda, neither of us like non-natural things on our skin, and especially near our faces. Over time, in the heat, we found the foregoing works.
I react very extremely to mosi bites, so I am a bit neurotic about it all.
The midges in Scotland are nasty little things.Mainly in the highlands and always on nice calm days. I recommend a net and some Avon Skin so Soft - been using it for years.
If you want to be extra cautious then get some Smidge.
This page will give you some info:

Have you tried this in Scotland? Does it work on the nasty wee black fly?
I get up into the highlands as often as possible and have been using Avon Skin So Soft (I carry it also in my motorcycle panniers when touring) - a working alternative would be good.
