What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@Tipetoo you need to come with a spider warning for the arachnophobes around here! Definitely won’t be eating them any time soon, Meaty May or not!

Australian spiders are deadly, but the Huntsman will more likely scare you as they pop out of no where.

You would get a feed out of this feller.

When we stayed at my uncle’s house in Victoria, our girls woke at stupid o clock in a freezing house. I went down to the bottom of the garden in my nightie and flip flops to chop some kindling for the wood burner. Chopped open a log, and an enormous huntsman slowly stretched out from his camp inside the old wood. I chopped him into hundreds of pieces!!! Not nature friendly but I was hysterical.

Hi all
Busy day - lots to sort out - but started well with me returning to swimming first thing which I love and especially the treat of a jacuzzi after the 50 lengths.
Breakfast after swimming bacon and egg
Lunch tin of mackerel in olive oil, a few nuts and four squares of 100% choc
Dinner salmon in lemon butter, cauliflower cheese and asparagus, glass of white wine with soda water followed by small scoop of oppo choc ice cream and double cream.

Shelley, what’s oppo choc ice cream. I’m beginning to have ice cream withdrawal.

Hope this helps think they stock in Waitrose too but not sure if any where else

Missed yesterday:
Lunch; made a 90sec bread bun, sliced, topped with onion, tomato and cheese and toasted under the grill.

Dinner; three Heck sausages, two eggs, a side of onion, tomato, red pepper and spinach with chilli.
Halo Top ice cream - unfortunately ate the whole tub - now removed from the “wonder if that’s OK” list.

Even very recently I was told it was nonsense by the dietician when I said I knew when my blood glucose was high because I could feel this as a slight heat on my skin. The dietician insisted I should go to the doctor because it was obvious to him I had a problem that needed investigation, and it had nothing to do with high blood sugar.

Really?!?

I had that slight heat on my skin this afternoon when my blood glucose was very high.

It is my belief that somewhere along the line we have ‘lost’ a lot of our sensitive feelings, which tells us about ourselves, because it has been drummed out of most of us.

You aren't alone - I also feel and look like I'm having a prolonged hot flush when my BGs are higher than they should be and the higher they go the warmer the flush. I just assumed everyone got this.

Today....

Breakfast: Egg mayo on crispbreads
Lunch: houmous wrapped in romaine lettuce
Dinner: the last of the Goonergal brisket, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower cheese
Dessert: rhubarb and Turkish yoghurt
Drinks: BDC, SSW

Just to be clear, the like is for the menu and not the hot flushes.

A trudge into town in the wind and rain this morning, covered from head to foot in waterproof stuff. I do like my waterproof trousers.

Lunch; 5 x spicy chicken wings then a handful of berries (raspberries and blueberries).

Dinner; Guacamole chicken melt with a side of spiced and sautéed onion, mushroom, tomato, kale and broccoli.
Some soured cream in the fridge which may get some chia seeds thrown in and a few more berries later on.
Merlot - for medicinal purposes - anyone know what the recommended dose is?

Lots of TWAM + a no cream cocoa until 2.00. Lunch 3 Nandos mild chicken thighs, cucumber, a few baby plum tomatoes, romaine lettuce + h/m mayo. 18.50 slow cooked rolled lamb shoulder in lemon and rosemary with mushrooms. S/F raspberry jelly, fage 5% yogurt and h/m lc chocolate granola. Functional - tomatoes and yogurt the best parts - meat = tender. Surely, all counts as real food and LC just nothing to enthuse me but pre LC not every day did. Must soon try higher % fat with no metformin if I can work out a way to actually eat more of it,

Some nice looking ideas in there, albeit many will/would require a bit of tweakery.

I've downloaded the App from the App store, so I'll see how I go with it..
They are not low carb that's for sure, so will need a tweak or two.

Playmates - Can kefir work with coconut milk?

Yes.
And Kombucha,
And herb teas.
But you need to make sure the kefir bugglets have enough food, so some of them require the addition of sugar, and they get weaker without milk, so you either have to replace them regularly, of feed them milk every now and then.

Funny for medicinal Merlot I’m on that tonight and wondering same thing!

Very stressful day so medicinal merlot, nuts and 100% choc needed!
Breakfast bacon and egg
Lunch lots of walnuts and almonds and cheese followed by 100% choc about 4 square montezumas absolut Black
Dinner beef casserole, cauliflower cheese, medicinal merlot followed by fage 5%yoghurt and teaspoon oppo choc ice cream to give bit of flavour.
Needs must!

That’s so funny. I once left a plastic bag containing leftover cabbage in my school desk over one of the longer holidays :D

That’s hilarious - just the fact that you had a bag of leftover cabbage at school is making me laugh. No wonder you’ve turned into a carnivore!
