What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.3 this morning, after feeling really pleased with myself I realised I only had 3/4 of my 4 daily shakes yesterday. So I’m gonna squeeze in an extra one today. Yesterday I finished 2 more medallions I have 2 more to make before assembly. I have got a chiropractor appointment today, never been to anything like this but hoping he can help sort my back out. Included a picture of 2 of the 3 finished medallions.

Those are beautiful! I hope the chiropractor was able to help your back.

Daughter and I did painting yesterday. Then I showed her encaustic wax painting. Initially she wasn’t too enthralled, but then got really stuck into it and didn’t want to stop. It may be just gone 7am but we are set up and ready to do more encaustic wax painting so byee...be good!
Sounds good fun, I have never tried it but will be having ago once I have finished my daunting commission of a rather huge acrylic painting of a Farrier burning a horse shoe onto a horse.
Enjoy the creativity.

Good morning @SaskiaKC . Dont worry there’s saying here “getting all your ducks in a row” but easier said than done. You feel well and that really matters. I had a low carb day yesterday but still had higher FBG. So the beast cant always be tamed and I have no doubt you are doing your best. Hugs and purrs. :cat:

(Basically she says she is fully supportive of lchf but other ways to do it too @gennepher - she has broad shoulders but the tweeting has been quite nasty from the lchf community)

I hope it was the wind and that she wasn't upset. I really do.

I don't see any success stories coming out whereby remission has been reached with low cal (anyone else?).This is what Dr Zoe kept reinforcing in my interview.

She spoke of DiRECT results. When I popped on the internet to research it says remission can be achieved for over 2 years. So basically hba1c creeping back up until in diabetic range again. I would prefer my remission to be permanent and that's why I've changed my woe for life to #lchf. It might not be for everyone but it really suits me and so many more across the world.

Hoping that soon they start listening.

#1. They change the eatwell plate advice,
#2. they change the dietary guidelines for t2d.
#3. They offer us a choice which includes info on #lchf and dont immediately offer meds including statins.
4#. And they offer pre diabetic and diabetic pts blood glucose monitors and dont say you dont need to use them as they can make you obsessive! In my opinion they are essential.
.

"What do we want ..better health care for T2
And when do we want it..NOW.".( ad infinitum )

agree with all that @Debandez

weird about the Direct trials..have to you read this this morning..
(yeah, i know your busy....:wideyed:...just asking ;) )
....
my view same as yours..in fact i think the ND is JUST a sticking plaster when compared to LCHF.
good but only for a short time, and then if you want continued good results your looking for something else.

Well why on earth didn't she say that...we all accept there are other ways to control T2 diabetes however she promoted the low calorie die &t took little account of what you said...she merely repeated what I and many other T's know doesn't give much chance of long term good management of our BG's...heading over to Twitter now.

wonder how much of that was in her remit.
like to think she could say what she wanted,
but would she be pressed to have balanced the
viewpoint, from above ?

Sad to see the twitter, not how i would have liked it to be.
looked upset to me.

Pity because all i want is for others to be given the CHOICE.

if it's not for them or they want another way, fair play.

ME.. i felt aggrieved that the ONLY choice given was the Failed one.

Big danger doctors and HCP are going to paint themselves into the corner as untrustworthy dodgy mechanics

with untold tales of sucking their teeth and going "dear oh dear, how did you manage THAT"
and then charging over the odds for the repair that does NOT last.

Trust, honesty, heading out the door day after day, with every post of someone being dismissed with TOO little information, little real choice and when they decide to help themselves get better, some psycho babble about the HARM (laugh or cry ??? ) that testing can do to us poor feeble minded Type twos.....<insert FURIOUS emoji here >

Dear god WHEN will these Dark Ages end for US Type 2's .

The most irksome part for me jjrakk is the dismissive response I and many of us here have had from our health care professionals & those who do not have diabetes...the 'well it is progressive so just take the medicine' or the inference it is somehow our own fault how many times have you heard 'its life style choices'...the lack of effort put into really understanding the condition and how it can be managed...rather than here's a leaflet & a prescription book yourself on a course...it is totally unacceptable so if it takes those HCP's in the limelight to take a little flak to get this nightmare highlighted then that is what it takes...it's about time we were listened to ask 'us' what we are unhappy with or what we need.

I'm just guessing, but maybe she didn't say it because she felt that doing so would have caused her to lose face. Just a thought ...

Debs reached so many people so she did great. I think thats what we all have to focus on now. Its not good that the Dr got abuse on line in the name of LCHF though. Counter productive...like we are some kind of faddies when the people I converse with on here are lovely sensible folks just trying to help themselves.

You're absolutely right. Thank goodness for this community. I sometimes log on to another one that in recent years has just become full of harpies attacking anyone who doesn't agree with them. It's scary how on some websites people turn into little vocal mosquitoes zapping each other. Or else, as on FB, they don't discuss, they just post without conversing. Not so, here. Thank heaven and every member here.

Love the emoticons lol! I agree we are all helping each other manage something which has a mind of its own. I sometimes think people (professional or otherwise) who dont have our disease are too laisez faire (thats my convent edu coming into notice) and dont know how it affects us day in day out. What I really love about this thread is we all have different experiences but we all support each other cos we all want to be as well as we can and be friends. Thanks again @HarrisonK this thread is soooo much better than others.

I adore the emoticons. Make me smile without fail.

I thought about posting the photo of me in mine but of course I have no idea how to scan a snapshot or upload it or download it or whatever it would take ... uh-huh ... yep ... :angelic:;):hilarious:

P.S. ... hmm, now you've got me thinking: maybe that's why when I grew older I loved helping my dad cut the grass? :D

No idea!!!! Says you with the best emoticon skills known to man!!! How can this be....
