@Muddy Cyclist good fasting reading and always a sound plan to be optimistic. The OK elements of today's key data were a fasting bg of 5.5 and a resting pulse heading down - 63 today. Unsure where the bottom of the 5 month decline will be for the wider picture. Not loving the current 5 hrs sleep - 4.00 am wake up is no use to me. I assume resting pulse up to mid 60s is down to 6 weeks of sitting about/tethered to a hospital bed. Today approaching 75 kgs seemingly out of nowhere. I would love a reset button to June/July 2018. This is a hard old row to hoe just now and the old ways don't seem to be working. I assume it would all be worse without LC but definitely severely testing my trust. Guess this is the acid test of my long term commitment to LC and if it has bouncebackability.

4.3 this morning, after feeling really pleased with myself I realised I only had 3/4 of my 4 daily shakes yesterday. So I’m gonna squeeze in an extra one today. Yesterday I finished 2 more medallions I have 2 more to make before assembly. I have got a chiropractor appointment today, never been to anything like this but hoping he can help sort my back out. Included a picture of 2 of the 3 finished medallions.

Morning...ooh dear feeling slightly 'delicate' this morning after an evening of fabulous excess with friends who came for dinner...like Michael Gove I am not prepared to publish the details you'd be horrified...this coffee is easing my fragility...amazingly woke to a 6.4

Fbg 9.6

Like I said yesterday I am eating same amount of carbs. I am still being strict with myself despite daughter from Oz here for a few days.

We went out to eat yesterday, and I ate all the stuff I would normally eat and be within my carbs limit. But again because it is later in the day my blood sugars are steadily rising. As you can see.

We are going out for a midday meal today. Again it is one of my ‘safe’ places to eat, but it means my concentration of food is midday instead of around 9am ish.

Daughter and I did painting yesterday. Then I showed her encaustic wax painting. Initially she wasn’t too enthralled, but then got really stuck into it and didn’t want to stop. It may be just gone 7am but we are set up and ready to do more encaustic wax painting so byee...be good!

@PenguinMum Thanks for your good wishes, but I do still need to keep a very close check on food because fbs are rising.

Morning all from a battle weary, just want to go home, afraid of the meter of doom diabetic. Me and Doomy have been in a battle royale since late Monday evening! It has been like a typhoon raging through the house, knocking bullie statues and figurines all over the place (obviously I picked them up toot sweet before the wife noticed I'm not THAT brave) the Twits, Sid and Trix ran for cover, as blows that would have felled trees were exchanged! I was exhausted, but every time I thought I had the upper hand, biff! the meter struck, whack I countered, SMASH came back Doomy! It was like the "Rumble in the Jungle" all over again. As the dust settled and I sat shell shocked at the savagery I had managed, for once, to get Doomy back in his box and managed to get a reading back down into single digits! I had readings in the High thirties and boy did I know about it. So battle commenced and for once I triumphed, I rule diabetes not the other way around. Anyway enough of this, have a good day and achieve what you want, and above all else have a good day.

Morning All. 6.7 today no reason whatsoever other than I had finished my first cup of tea before testing. I blame OH chatting about his packing for hols and distracting me but thats only part of it. The rest is a mystery.
@gennepher enjoy your day with your daughter doing compatible things. @Fndwheelie great fbg and lovely medalions, very delicate. @Bubbsie sounds like a lot of fun was had and probs was needed. @HarrisonK I am impressed by the tabby...my two wouldnt attempt to make a move on a pigeon..they would retreat slowly. @ianpspurs keep fighting the good fight. @johnpol gosh that all sounds exhausting but I agree you rule not it.
Have a great Thursday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
PS. Many of you on here know me as PM so can I just say if I am not around here as much as usual next week its because I will be in Spain..not the Tower of London;)

@DCUKMod posted on another thread some interesting information about biotin causing Potential Assay Interference – Biochemistry Immunoassay Tests.

Although the research was done on immunoassay tests only - it got me thinking and wondering about the b vits that I normally take which contain 300ug biotin. I had run out a month before and the replacement Bs I picked up only had 50ug biotin. Even though this was very low I decided to stop them 4 days before my blood test.

So the first time since 2012 my hba1c actually reflected what my blood sugars are during the day and night. I am always beyond upset when my graphs of BS in in the 4s, 5s an 6s give me an hba1c of 42 or 44 or even higher.

Was it a fluke or was it stopping the biotin that gave me the true hba1c. If it is the biotin am I the only person on the planet whose hba1c is affected by the biotin. Who knows - but I will definitely do this again.

In the meantime I am just feeling happy that I have an hba1c of 36 that reflects the readings from my meter.

4.9 today. Great especially as I was out for tea last night.

Update re my appearance on This Morning last week. Its caused quite a stir! A few ruffled feathers. So much so Zoe made a statement in her Twitter

https://twitter.com/DrZoeWilliams/status/1171388091443159043?s=19

https://twitter.com/DrZoeWilliams/status/1171394151503601665?s=19

(Basically she says she is fully supportive of lchf but other ways to do it too @gennepher - she has broad shoulders but the tweeting has been quite nasty from the lchf community)

I hope it was the wind and that she wasnt upset. I really do.

Passions are running high in the diabetic and medical community.

The interview has certainly raised awareness!

I've replied to all comments on any links to it I can find and pointed the people to this forum for help, support and info. I've PMd those who requested more info. It's had @100k hits on the this Morning Facebook page plus over 100 shares. Over 10k hits on the YouTube link. 1,300 hits on Ash trees house surgery thanks to @Listlad. Many on my own surgery fb page @Adelaide st surgery. And many views on my own fb page plus shares. Who knows how far it has spread, a tiny stone in the water can cause big ripples. Every little helps.

PR really is working.

Next goal is getting lots of us on that sofa. To show people this isnt just a one off here and there.

I don't see any success stories coming out whereby remission has been reached with low cal (anyone else?).This is what Dr Zoe kept reinforcing in my interview. She spoke of DiRECT results. When I popped on the internet to research it says remission can be achieved for over 2 years. So basically hba1c creeping back up until in diabetic range again. I would prefer my remission to be permanent and that's why I've changed my woe for life to #lchf. It might not be for everyone but it really suits me and so many more across the world.

Hoping that soon they start listening. They change the eatwell plate advice, they change the dietary guidelines for t2d. They offer us a choice which includes info on #lchf and dont immediately offer meds including statins. And they offer pre diabetic and diabetic pts blood glucose monitors and dont say you dont need to use them as they can make you obsessive! In my opinion they are essential.

Keeping up the fight until this happens.

Happy Thursday to one and all.

4.8 this morning, but feeling better today. Yesterday evening I got a phone call from my paternal grandparents, they are down my way and would I like to meat for lunch? Of course I said yes and we quickly arranged a pub local to me for the meet-up. So at 9pm last night I hurriedly made a quick bracelet to give my Nan.

P.S. I was thinking about creating a new general thread for posting my beading updates rather than derail this thread, what do you think?
You wont derail this thread in my opinion, it's a 'throw everything in.the mix'.thread!

Happy? You should be ecstatic and chill for a while. The Biotin effect and the whole issue of what constitutes a well formulated keto/LC diet appears to me right now to be like sticking a pin in the paper to pick a horse for the big race. Either way you backed the winner and deserve to bask in the glow of success
Thank you @ianpspurs you are absolutely right and I will bask in the glow of success. Am quite looking forward to my appointment with my DN next Tuesday.

Morning All. 6.3 today but woke late after a very long sleep. All day yesterday all I could think about was eating cake which never happens but I had a real slump. Thank goodness there was none in the house? Chocolate there was but didnt fancy it!
You are all doing lots of nice things today. @gennepher enjoy every minute with your daughter and dont worry about BG you can deal with that afterwards. @HarrisonK enjoy your meet with your friends at the cafe. @dunelm thanks for the pics of lovely Wales and enjoy every minute. @SaskiaKC great news about the new meds and so good you got out yesterday without issues. Its good for you to socialise. Wonder what the KC gets up to when you’re out :cat: @Bubbsie good luck with the eye clinic enough to send anyone in the direction of choc chip cookies! @Cumberland hope you are ok good to see @Karen89 scores.
Have a great Wednesday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
thanks pm :)

Hello everyone. Nearly 6:30 here and still dark outside. A pleasant 21 degrees out there and a not-so-pleasant 7.1 in here, probably from too many carbs last night but I have little appetite for anything else. Talk of WOE, this is a WOEful way of eating. But otherwise I feel well so not complaining; rather wishing you all a happy

@jjraak I echo @PenguinMum in wondering how you and your world are getting along; and @johnpol this is for you:
