That sounds like an excellent idea @porl69 the guardian sensor would of been my preferred system but it was down to cost, should be a real help to you.

Good luck on your results @LooperCat am sure you will do well :)

Does anyone know where I can buy or trade a libre sensor for one Dexcom sensor? My nurse gave me 3 sensors to last until pump therapy and after tomorrow, I am on my last sensor so I have 1.5 weeks without it. I have the transmitter, so I just need an additional sensor.

What’s the problem with using Libre until then?

Good morning went to bed on 7.4 ( hypo earlier and awoke on 5.6 and steady throughout the night
A quiet day at home today and going to watch a couple of older films later, on, as from tomorrow I'm working 7 days on the trot, a new school run starts on Monday and working my other job Sunday and next Saturday too, so that will keep me busy and out of mischief lol
Have a great weekend everyone :)

Just realised I have been pumping insulin exactly 4 years to the day, think that’s worthy of a celebration so going to clean the house and then have a large glass of wine (hopefully with no hypos !!)
If you have anything else to celebrate, can you come over and clean my house?

At this point, my dear departed mother would have commented that there are worse things in life than a dusty skirting board.

Hello friends,

Diabetes has been okay and work is not going so great. I’m in a whatsapp group for work and my manager exposed me again in front of the group. Apparently lunch service was very poor because of me. It was my bad that I didn’t double check the order and sometimes the computer doesn’t register items when I click too fast. Kitchen doesn’t understand me because they are all Thai, I asked several times that this table is waiting for one dish but they were like “oh no, all orders are queuing”. The husband ended up eating his wife’s food and when the last dish came out, she said it wasn’t her food. Because I didn’t speak coherently and articulated it well enough. I admit it was executed very poorly. But to her that’s a sad excuse or there shouldn’t be an excuse for it. I haven’t replied back because I don’t really want to say anything but if I don’t say anything, it’ll be like “I’m right, you did very poorly, you should be ashamed of yourself”. Also I didn’t have one table, I had more than a table to look after. If I be too honest with her, she’ll replace me real quick. IMG_0231.jpg

Apparently that incident has earned me no hours this week because I don’t deserve any
Is it really worth it? How is the other job going, and you mentioned some other interview?

For a time, my OH owned a restaurant/ bistro, which was a great business, but boy, is "hospitality" hard work, for all concerned.

Two of his granddaughters have worked in hospitality to help themselves through Uni, and to be honest, it seems your experiences aren't unusual.

Have you considered work outside this arena?

In your shoes, I might approach the likes of M&S, who have a solid reputation as an employer, and see what temp work they have around. I know of someone who got a temp job, for a few months, with them when her marriage went awry, and suddenly she had to work, after a long time being a homemaker, and she is still there, on a different basis a couple of years later.

Many companies, these days, start people on fixed term contracts of 3 or 6 months, so that if it's not working out, they don't need to manage the employee out, their contract simply expires and they're gone. If it's working out, they extend the contact or convert it to permanent.

Just my thoughts.

@MeiChanski perhaps it’s time you moved on - your manager seems to be a bully with no management skills whatsoever and will probably continue to treat you in this way - is it only you or do your colleagues get the same treatment?
