Apparently that incident has earned me no hours this week because I don’t deserve any
Is it really worth it? How is the other job going, and you mentioned some other interview?
For a time, my OH owned a restaurant/ bistro, which was a great business, but boy, is "hospitality" hard work, for all concerned.
Two of his granddaughters have worked in hospitality to help themselves through Uni, and to be honest, it seems your experiences aren't unusual.
Have you considered work outside this arena?
In your shoes, I might approach the likes of M&S, who have a solid reputation as an employer, and see what temp work they have around. I know of someone who got a temp job, for a few months, with them when her marriage went awry, and suddenly she had to work, after a long time being a homemaker, and she is still there, on a different basis a couple of years later.
Many companies, these days, start people on fixed term contracts of 3 or 6 months, so that if it's not working out, they don't need to manage the employee out, their contract simply expires and they're gone. If it's working out, they extend the contact or convert it to permanent.
Just my thoughts.
