Evenin’ All,

an excellent weekend, full of carnivory, good conversation and dogs :D

yesterday evening Mr B showed massive enthusiasm for a pizza. So he got dominos, and I got fathead. Then I sneaked some of their garlic mayo dip in too. Worked very well.

today:
B: hot choc (LC)
L: ham cheese cream cheese and branston rollups :wacky:
D: chicken and bacon with added butter to get the keto macro

almost certain to have goatsmilk yog and peanut butter later, since the chicken portion was frankly inadequate.

Glad you have had some rain @Tipetoo however inadequate. Hoping there is more incoming, across the whole continent.

Now That's a lintle! We had a steel one to remove (to be replaced with a bigger one) but it wasn't as big as that one.
Am a little nervous about tomorrow's raising the lintel. Guesstimated weight three quarterof a tonne. You can just see the underside of the stone spiral staircase. Currently lacking some of its supports. And braced from above

That looks a bit dangerous. Do be careful, especially Mr S when he attempts to move it.
Thanks for your concern Annb, I was a little bit worried about the smaller piece of stone landing in his lap today. But he and Andy managed to move it just fine. Still i will be glad when it is safely cemented into place again.

Half a dozen 1" chunks of cold pork belly at lunch time. Tea with milk. Then a friend arrived with work for us to collaborate on (slide show and talk for some primary children at a local school - if the school is open tomorrow with the way the weather is behaving at the moment). It took us about 5 hours to put it together and decide how we were going to present it - not bad doing it from scratch. But then I felt a hypo coming on - I'd forgotten all about food and drink. I brought it back up with 2 pan drops I found in the cupboard. I did offer to make a meal for both of us but all my friend wanted was some toast! I don't have any bread in the house, of course. She had to go anyway - the peninsula she lives on may well be cut off from the rest of the Island at high tide. She may yet come back for a bed for the night.

I've put another dozen chunks of the pork in the AF and will have it sometime soon. Must have more drinks to make up for forgetting earlier.

Bed 5.8 FBG 5.4. Start of the first full week back in routine. Weather was horrible again so it was hats on, waterproof on, hood up, boots on and a detour route to avoid the icy bits that my crutch slides on. Back to Aqua again too which has relaxed the muscles in my legs. @DJC3 - Yes, it was only a matter of time before I fiddled with the recipes. I do try hard not to make much difference to it but sometimes a wee tweek improves it.
Boys has a good day despite the awful weather. Think I'll need to dig my gloves out again for tomorrow. So starts week 2 of the latest DD challenge. Today was supposed to be OMAD but, surprise surprise, I changed it! OMAD and Aqua don't work. I put off as long as I could but by 1.45pm I had to eat.

B. TAG (no ADOC)
L. Eventually, was the seafood salad which was really nice. I mean REALLY nice.

D. It's a cabbage day today! Pan fried shredded cabbage in butter and served with parmesan chicken. For once I didn't fiddle with the recipe as there was no need. This DD meal is really tasty. I have enough left for a mini lunch tomorrow.
I'm supposed to have it for lunch tomorrow but there is also Mexican scrambled eggs for breakfast so I suspect breakfast will become a coffee as 3 meals is just too much.

Stornaway looked wild on the news tonight. They said the schools were closed but I don't know if that was today or tomorrow.

We had a load of Acrow props as it was supporting the entire upper floor. I was happy when the new one went in.

I thought you were a chaffler?

In winter my food processor doesn't get too much use, and things like soups are stick blended if needed. In summer though, I do my own coleslaw, and the processor makes short work of the bucket load I do at a time, and once it's on top (it lives on the shelf on the prep bench), it tends to sit there for a while.

Yesterday, discussing such things, as I was perusing another Chinese cleaver, MrB declared our kitchen well equipped. I reckon there stil room for "improvement". I just haven't decided what it is yet! :)

Whatever you decide is still needed I hope I don’t hear about it!
Chaffles are ok in a pan, don’t need to be waffly, and like you I tend to use a stick blender for soups etc. I actually like cutting cabbage for coleslaw with a large sharp knife, it’s very satisfying. Mr C can’t watch as I do have a tendency to chop bits off my digits.

Hi all thought it was quite wild and wet here until saw news of conditions in Scotland and N Ireland it looked dire. Thinking of you @Annb and @maglil55 and hope it improves soon.
@SlimLizzy you and OH do take care near that lintel!
@Goonergal my hug was for your birthday - we are allowed to break a rule on special days I can’t even imagine a whole month with no chocolate!
Breakfast boiled egg and half a toasted chaffle
Through day lots of coffee mainly with cream. Don’t know what’s happened but there seems to be a shortage of whole fat lacto free milk can’t get anywhere this week only the skimmed varieties on offer
Dinner pancetta frittata- also had tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese in it served with green salad and a salad mixed by me with avocado, chopped walnuts, sliced celery and a mix of lemon juice and mayo. Pudding sf jelly and full fat yoghurt.
Oh and just had a little piece of 100% montezumas with almonds with my decaff.

Happy Birthday @Goonergal if you can’t have a bit of chocolate on your birthday when can you. At least your colleague bought you high % stuff.

Back into routine and trying to restart my weight loss by cutting back a bit after a fab foodie weekend away.
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Late Lunch: Greek yoghurt, coffee chia pudding and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon: black coffee.
Dinner: gammon steak and fried egg with roasted Mediterranean veggies followed by SF jelly, cream and macadamia and coconut keto granola

@Annb - when you bought your slicer, did you buy chainmail gloves for handling the blade? As I have "form" with knives and saws (don't ask), MrB insisted. I must admit, they help with confidence, as so many accidents happen, it seems, due to poor handling.

Actually, no I didn't. Never thought of it. However, I'm not like Son No 2, who can't pick up a screwdriver without sticking it into a finger or palm. ( As a postman his hands are always covered in paper cuts.) He's always too busy trying to multi-task to concentrate on the job in hand. Shouldn't be too cocky though - pride comes before a fall. I'll be careful.

Evening all.

Lots of food today - one of those ‘so hungry I could empty the fridge’ days.

Early breakfast on train home. Small portion of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Second breakfast around 9.30am eggs, bacon and grated cheese

Lunch was garlic and Parmesan chicken wings

Dinner was an air fried Barnsley lamb chop followed by some Halloumi fries

Also broke my January no chocolate rule - work colleagues gave me a 25g bar of Sainsbury’s 85% chocolate with my birthday card and decided to eat it.

Back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.

Happy birthday, Goonergal. Chocolate and birthdays go together, don't they? And it's not as if it was a 100g bar of something like Dairymilk.

Today :

Fasting bg was too high at 125 = 6.9

Breakfast : low carb , sugar free granola, Greek yogurt and blueberries .

Snack : one string cheese .

Lunch : fish with salad , pickles, no carbs .

Dinner : will make chili ( cannot cook , bf will supervise remotely on phone and repel all the vampires at the same time ). I will have chili with no rice or any carbs .

Dessert : a pumpkin muffin with lemon tea .

Edit to add updates : chili turned out to be very yummy . I don’t like beans so I replaced beans with bell pepper (capsicum) and had two small sprouted whole meal tortilla with it . I added some dried herbs and cinnamon to it (add cinnamon to everything). Very proud of my cooking as a newbie

I know what you mean about slicing cabbage, wit her a decent knife. As I mentioned recently I bought some chain mail gloves for, handling the food slicer blade.

Last year, in Thailand, I bought a wonderful cleaver. By comparison to what the butchers here use, it's a teenie, tiny baby cleaver at about 8", but boy it's effective. I'll pick up another this year, but possible more lightweight, so that the top is more useable.

I think gloves will be mandatory with that, although no gloves will protect from a chopping action. [ shudder ]
