If nothing else @urbanracer , find a kitten to play with. Mine have spared me a fair few fingerpricks, they're guaranteed to draw blood when you tickle them!
Snakes are good for that to used to have a jungle carpet python well she bit me i had 42 little hypodermic like teeth stuck in my hand across the back of it where all the veins are i bled all over i'll try to find the pic but it doesn't do it justice as it was after i stopped the bleeding

oh dear now my BG is at 18.8 after a bowl of porridge and 20 units of novoslow i'm trying to get it down i'm at the doctor's today having my bloods done no lunch it is then :arghh:
I have the same problem with porridge. I know it is supposed to be slow release etc but it also sends my glucose sky high. When I go high or low it takes ages for me to recover.

For me it was kind of a test run, iv'e been T1D for 16 years but a very very stupid one one now i'm getting back on track checking my BG levels it's like been newly diagnosed because my body's insulin sensitivity ratio has changed i'm still figuring it all out (and i was already high when i ate the porridge)

If you work out the best time and split for dosing your insulin, it’s manageable. I never bothered because the texture makes me retch :D

I feel if I was left with no choice but to use a pen needle as a lancet.

I'd possibly try a blunt one.?

Forgot to say i would bash it against a window for a bit before poking my finger

Not being able to eat as many chocolate digestives as I used to.

I have accidentally stabbed myself a few times with 'armed' pens, I know they can be quite effective at drawing blood.

Yep, I've caught myself a few times depositing into the sharps bin.

But not quite enough to satisfy a BG meter.. My Mobile loves a good slasher movie.! :)

it is meant to have a low glycemic index or that's what the diatition told me at the start

It was a fab meet up, I don’t have anything else to compare it to. I got an epic arm squish from @Juicyj (we were talking about placing Dexcom on our arms and I said I was advised not too because my arms are a bit lean for it) so it was like an inner fan girl moment for me.

I was blown away by how robust pump tubing is..?

I've only known an Omnipod user & he wasn't very "show & tell."

Still all turns to glucose in the end, and as we don't produce any insulin at all of our own, we still need to cover every last gram of it. Low GI foods can actually be harder to dose for as they hang around for longer, steadily pushing bg up long after the insulin has worn off.

Should I be worried about air bubbles in my tubing? My site change yesterday went well and I didn’t see any bubbles in the tubing.

Hi, hospital appointment went fairly quickly, a bit uncomfortable but all done now ( If I ever get reincarnated................. I am coming back as a man !!! )
BG's have been quite high, but hoping they will come down slowly with more Insulin.
Going on the last school run as a casual Escort very soon.

You need to check tubing daily for air bubbles, as the space where the air bubble is means you won't get the correct amount of insulin. They're can be quite common, more so with Fiasp I've found. Disconnect the tubing from yourself, leaving the cannula in, and fill tubing as you would normally do when putting a new cannula in, until the line is clear of bubbles. Make sure insulin is at room temperature before filling cartridge if it's a self fill one, as insulin straight from the fridge increases air bubbles. I tend to get air bubbles maybe 12 hrs after a set change.
