What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Another glimpse of your creativity and technical skills this morning. Thank you for sharing your gifts with myself and others. Addressing the fbg/breakfast numbers. there was a .4 rise which would probably be a slight incline on the bg graph. The starting point was higher than you often post so one might reasonably assume the minimal rise produced a higher number than you wished. Have a great day.

Thank you @ianpspurs for the painting compliments.

I need to get that fbg back down again...

You have a good day.

So this morning..mmh

Joyous as i got a.. 'Stay one more day card'..from my Guessometer..5.6 as you asked..;)

Gym yesterday for the first time in a while...aagghh, aching a little too much, but my own fault, hope to follow up
with a more regular pattern..(do the running etc and use free weights indoors, but the Gym does offer more, if i'm honest)

Was browsing yesterday, as ya do..and came across this Motivational speech.

seen many but this was from a rather unexpected quarter..(perhaps not, now i think of it, , but not one i'd considered before)
Liked the simplicity or the explanations..(well worth sticking with to the end)

have a Good Un all.

Thank you, I think my quick watercolour paintings work out best, when I consciously start a proper painting I spend too long and the freeness goes. In all these years I have not been able to let myself work freely on full pieces of art as I do with my watercolour sketches.

I am the same with writing.

Photos arrived from friend, here I be on today's bike ride crossing the stream in Sherbrook valley. This is such a lovely part of the world. In this stream there are fresh water cray fish, clams and shrimps, English variety, protected from imported varieties in the river Trent as the stream runs through a long culvert before entering the river through which foreign varieties have not been able to travel.

Great pic! You look like you are having a wonderful time. Thank you for posting it. :)

Not too far off i suppose @SaskiaKC

strong believer that when we die the spirit leaves the body..(where it goes is down to our own beliefs)
to all intents and purposes the body is now just a shell.

SO it's a definite symbiotic relationship, one we would well advised to keep going as long as possible..;)

Agreed. :) I also believe in the resurrection of the body and a literal heaven. C.S. Lewis has a wonderful description of it.

Morning... up early off to work in sunny Northampton later this morning (optimism there )...enjoying my coffee while pondering the mysteries of T2D...clinic didn't go too well yesterday INR levels too high so back there next week...they did ask me if there were any changes of course I said no...on reflection I should have mentioned I am doing very low carb at the moment with a little I/F...I cannot do the whole I/F thing as Warfarin should be taken at the same time every evening with before/ food...so despite the extremely low carb FBG higher than usual (and I would like) I believe it's taking my poor old blood/body time to adjust...we shall see...this morning woke to a 6.8 and it's slowly rising...I expect to show some progress by the beginning of next week we shall see.

Hug for the clinic result and the higher FBG. I hope the Northampton trip is going/went well, and that next week's clinic visit will bring better results.

@Ryhia Welcome! :)

Morning all, what a nice relaxing Sunday bunch of posts. @SaskiaKC good on you for your HbA1c when there has been so much else to cope with.
@HarryBeau I hope all goes well with C&L at Wood Green today, I wonder if they’ll remember the place?
@PenguinMum hugs for the fbg but your explanation sounds quite likely. Sorry about the scare with your friend last night.
@ianpspurs I completely agree with your idea on bg results - there’s a lot more going on than we’ll probably ever know but I’m glad you and Julie found that contentment yesterday. Shame about the walnut liqueur though.
@gennepher I love today’s picture, I could look at it for hours.
@Muddy Cyclist I Hope you have a nice relaxing day after last night’s festivities, sounds like a wonderful evening.
Nearly forgot fbg was 4.9 (1/2 bottle of red to thank for that I expect) I put a new Libre on yesterday and this morning fbg was 6.1 according to that! This time it appears to be reading a good 1 mmol higher, last time it was around 1 mmol lower. Oh well, I’ll just look for trends and ignore the numbers I think.

I like the libre as no bothering about kit, pricking, popping in mysugr. It's so quick and easy and all info at my finger tips.i can print off the info I want in an instant. I love the graphs. Its not as good as finger pricks accuracy wise but to me it doesnt matter as I'm only after a rough idea. I have home a1c tests if I'm concerned. But it's so expensive the libres.

A surprising 4.6 for me today after hail smacking against the windows kept me awake a lot.
@Krystyna23040 I’m with you on the protein effect, I find the same thing if I have too much - bg stays higher than expected for a long time and certainly affects fbg the day after.
@HarryBeau sorry to hear you have to go back to the clinic next week, hope things are a bit better by then. It’s very hard to manage more than 1 condition without impacting the rest.
@gennepher fabulous picture again, thank you.
@Ryhia welcome, it’s good to have you aboard.
@PenguinMum I m glad your fbg is starting to behave again. Soup is the answer to a lot of questions I agree!
Congrats on a fab FBG. I’m well jeal :yuck: Have bought the leeks and brocolli but will make tomo morning, h/m soup is just so comforting.

HEY..welcome alongside.

so untalented, huh ;)...now i got company at least...:hilarious:

@Ryhia , you'll be fine..( some chat too much anyways...:bag: )

Nice score..:D

I beg to differ ... it's a full-on chat thread. ;)

@Ryhia I can't paint for toffee either -- that's OK coz toffee is bad for me. :D

Fbg 9.6 at 4am

I am starting from scratch again.
My plan for this morning was not to eat for a couple of hours, then eat a couple of boiled eggs.

So, 6am, prior eggs was 10.7

I know from my food records that my reading goes up if I don't eat within 15 minutes of waking up (and I usually have nuts). So, no surprise there.

So, ate boiled eggs at 6am.

Then 8am reading was 11.1

That really has gone up.

Anyway, I am not worried because according to my previous food records, this also happens when I have not eaten almost immediately on waking in the morning.

Okay, this will go down by mid afternoon...as long as I eat the foods I know I am okay with.

So, tomorrow, Wednesday morning, I hazard a guess my fbg might be 8.6 (just going by previous records), and I shall have my handful of nuts and hopefully soon I will have this back in the 6's for fbg.

Also I love eating those nuts while I am painting!

Here is my painting a day challenge to myself for today.

Have a good Tuesday.
Hugs for all of you.
Have fun!

Better than Poe. :)

Thank you, this thread is full of inspirational top dudes and lasses including yourself, certainly helps keep me motivated when dealing with T2D. It would be so very easy to just cave in to meds and acceptance of my lot, likewise with my arthritis and Mountain Biking I am fortunate to have younger friends who push me, not literally you understand. :joyful:
And really the meds are just a mop and bucket. Best stopping the leak I feel.

In Apache villages, the squaw on the hippopotomus hide is equal to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides. The origin of the hippopotomus hide popping up so far from home is an advanced discussion when drawing a circle in the sand and moving a radii stick round it in search of animal sign - or even animal co-sign. It’s very tangental and a bit wavy round the edges.

Errrrr....... come again???!!!!.....

The trick with fasting between meals is not to have anything that will trigger a response - even one cup of tea with milk will break a fast. I tend to have green tea in the morning and black koffy up to around noon - then breakfast at that time. A big tablespoon of Inulin a couple of hours before I go to bed seems to keep things running flat during the night. Note - only been eating protein (ish) this month.
