I am not in a good place...it's this Wrexham Hospital appointment. My internet friend rang for me and said that I wasn't happy travelling alone and being a profoundly deaf person, alone and through two counties in lockdown and a bit of England to get to the hospital. So could the appointment be postponed.

Appointments said no, because the appointment was urgent, and put her through to gynaecology. She spoke to a gynaecologist who said it was extremely urgent that I go on Monday, and I was entitled to despite two different county's lockdowns.

And, that if I am delayed because of the police checkpoints between the counties, to still carry on. And that they would understand if I was late, and that it is not my fault, but I have to get there for Monday's appointment. And the gynaecologist would wait for me.

Now, I am worried.

I cannot face driving through a police checkpoint. And having to answer their questions. This is the bl**dy UK. I will have my appointment letter. But I had no idea this appointment was urgent. This is a complete shock to me. I can't assimilate it. And I had no idea of the appointment letter when it came a week ago, no one informed me I was being referred to gynaecology. So it was a complete surprise.

And now I am told that this appointment is extremely urgent and I have break through the police check points. There is nothing on the letter that indicates it is urgent, just that it is a gynaecology appointment.

I didn't know it was an urgent appointment that must not be missed until my internet friend telephoned on my behalf today.

So I am not in a good place. If the police insist it is not urgent from the letter, then they will be getting the full gory details of that butchered pessary change...

As we seem to be on the same page re issues.

As I said I was lucky enough to get my flu jab the other day.

Had appt booked in for docs.

Couple on twitter asking where to get theirs as surgery run out and boots stopped taking bookings.

I'd suggest those that need it, take note and get in asap..
Lots of post suggests appt's being cancelled as vaccines run out ..:sorry:
Seems like this is down to local management practice. The surgery that we are registered with does all flue jabs during two consecutive Saturdays and then a mop up. I helped with the first Saturday where we got 1200 patients stabbed within 5 hours. This was the over 60 group. The remaining patients (about 700, were done the following Saturday).

Good morning everyone from another day of possibilities in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken with lemon, coriander and spinach came in at 4.8 this am

Baby sitting duties yesterday - park, ducks, squirrels, trees, lake, bridges - then promenade, sea, beach, avoid, masks, gel.
MIL not good - it has to be a telephone consultation from a nurse practitioner first and then a 10 point escalation plan that eventually gets to to see a visual representation of what in the old days we called a doctor. Mrs Miggins went over to help with the call (useful having a speaker function).

Today, clearing out the little indoor garden in the room with no name and re-planting to make a herb patch. Lunch with one of our nieces in a Covid select antisocially arrange, deep cleaned and operating theatre standard PUB. All masked up until seated please.

Painting today using one brush and on rice paper. May today be kinder to you than it was yesterday. Koffy time.

good evening all :)

4.5 today

shopping day again and it was fairly quiet today when we got there :)

Mum has a big scab on her head but seems to be fine, is back to knitting etc. and is talking about going to the local town on Thursday by bus to get her pension.

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@ianpspurs - please keep posting ianp :)

@JohnEGreen - nice sky shots both :) I think I remember reading that the coloured spots are caused by internal lens reflections.

@jjraak - lucky to get your vaccine done, we had to phone a special phone line number and they were making appts. on a first come first served basis. they are doing the shots at the Health Centre using the Saturdays when it's normally closed. Our appts. are on the 12th November :( there are only 4 places per 5 minute slot and no internal waiting area.

@Muddy Cyclist - glad you're getting a bit of mobility back, take it slowly :)

@dunelm - nicely stylised cliffs and trees, very effective :)

@gennepher - Hugs for your stressful day. Perhaps they are treating it as urgent because there was no doctor on site to check you out immediately after the nurse had a problem with your pessary. Well done for producing interesting art in the circumstances, stress makes everything more difficult.

art bit -
still with the idea of water, after @Alien Aspie made that very effective piece of art with the water droplets I put it on my list of things to have a go at. This is based on a photo I took of some Alchemilla beside our doorstep.

an awful long wait, me thinks, considering the season and the health climate.

really don't understand why some (@dunelm ) surgeries can be so effective, and while mine was a little tardy, it was this month...but november, smacks of male hens up
it really just beggars belief this of all things could be so messed up.

Not even Durham 'walkabout' Dom, could claim this flu seasons flu shot roll out was not expected to be above the average
and be expected to be believed.

hope you all stay well until then or get lucky and find a chemist able to supply the shot before then ..x

@geefull thisyears flu jab seems hit and miss in so many health centres Mrs MC is having to wait until 12 November as you are. My Health Centre was very quick off the mark and like @dunelm all went swift and organised.

Great plant and water droplet study from you today.

There are no plans currently at my doctorless surgery to give us the flu shot, and I cannot get any at local pharmacies. So looks like I won't get the flu shot this year @jjraak
Maybe this is an experiment? On us?

I shall survive, flu shot or not...

A truly stressful time @gennepher

How worrying, I do wonder if the urgency is more they know their ability to function might be throttled back, as we head deeper into this new wave of covid.

More they WANT to see you to get treatment started ......before they start cancelling appointments for God knows how long,
rather then any imminent danger ?

At least that's what I hope.

I'd be inclined to let doctors know that if you do get stopped, you're giving the police their number so they can call for confirmation of urgency ..might ease any concerns pre journey, and be invaluable if actually stopped.

Good luck & best wishes.

Good Morning and 6 for me today.

Two eldest grandaughters being dropped off here for a couple of hours after school. Will be nice to see them and feed them but as my son points out risky business.

Tesco forage and assault course this morning, I shall hobble around best I can.

Enjoy unraveling the mysteries of your day. Keep safe.
