I am not in a good place...it's this Wrexham Hospital appointment. My internet friend rang for me and said that I wasn't happy travelling alone and being a profoundly deaf person, alone and through two counties in lockdown and a bit of England to get to the hospital. So could the appointment be postponed.
Appointments said no, because the appointment was urgent, and put her through to gynaecology. She spoke to a gynaecologist who said it was extremely urgent that I go on Monday, and I was entitled to despite two different county's lockdowns.
And, that if I am delayed because of the police checkpoints between the counties, to still carry on. And that they would understand if I was late, and that it is not my fault, but I have to get there for Monday's appointment. And the gynaecologist would wait for me.
Now, I am worried.
I cannot face driving through a police checkpoint. And having to answer their questions. This is the bl**dy UK. I will have my appointment letter. But I had no idea this appointment was urgent. This is a complete shock to me. I can't assimilate it. And I had no idea of the appointment letter when it came a week ago, no one informed me I was being referred to gynaecology. So it was a complete surprise.
And now I am told that this appointment is extremely urgent and I have break through the police check points. There is nothing on the letter that indicates it is urgent, just that it is a gynaecology appointment.
I didn't know it was an urgent appointment that must not be missed until my internet friend telephoned on my behalf today.
So I am not in a good place. If the police insist it is not urgent from the letter, then they will be getting the full gory details of that butchered pessary change...
