What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

good evening all :)

4.5 this morning

off out today to the charity big shed to swap out mr. gee's catalogue and repair work for the week, now we're just going in to pick up the quarantined things donated during the week and take back the items which could be repaired and cleaned, ready tagged for sale from last week's pick up ;)

when we got back the weather had moved from 'miserable and overcast' to sunny so we had a good walk round the village :)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@SlimLizzy - well so long as 'cat' is happy, though the French version is pleasing too :)

@gennepher - that's a lovely painting, it sparks so many mental images, big hug for your trying day though, glad today is looking a bit calmer :)

@dunelm - three interesting images with their range of brush strokes, the coloured brush pens look like an interesting tool to try and they make a joyous splash of colour :)

@Alien Aspie - interesting image, you've achieved a real fluid look :)

@Muddy Cyclist - I like your pencil sketch very much it has a great feeling of depth and I can already feel the distant landscape of your new work :) looking forward to seeing it's development.

art bit - didn't do any art yesterday :sorry: ended up reading so will have to catch up over the next couple of days.

this one was a calm morning, all the valleys were full of mist, the land spit used to be a ferry point many years ago

sorry for the weird splats at the top left hand corner where the paint got under the tape holding the paper down :sorry:

Thank you. A very tranquil watercolour from you today, you have captured the atmosphere of the scene beautifully.

6.1 this morning and it's a stay at home type of sky.

Fitted my new wifi 'dongle' as I discovered the internal unit was weak. PC is now chugging away at full strength once more, those dongles have come a long way.

Enjoy the day ;)

Good morning everyone from a Fabulous Friday in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of courgette “linguine carbonara” came in at 5.2 this am

Spiffing day yesterday and all local. We are so lucky to have so much diverse open space right on the doorstep and within walking distance; North Yorkshire Moors, beaches, parks and salt marshes (run by the Wildlife Trusts).

Today is a bit of a blank slate but walking will be involved. The BBC weather page of lies and deception talk it up about light cloud and some gentle breezes with only a 9% chance of rain - but they would say that would’t they.

My mother, who taught Chinese art for several decades, thinks I should move onto Chrysanthemum - one of the Four Gentlemen of Chinese brush painting (plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum). Ah well, we have to look after our parents so here we go.
Have a wonderful Friday. I am heading for the koffy pot.

Brilliant art your mom should be well pleased.

Like you we are fortunate to have open space to Cisit and explore right on our doorsteps without having to make use of cars to get to them. Even more important in these lockdown times.

Am relaxing with the posts before a slightly later dog walk because Mr K is doing the weekly Aldi shop.

Was really late home last night because of two lots of roadworks on my journey home.

Good Morning and 6.2 for me today.

Mrs MC says I have to get the house back in order this morning after our let's do every room decorating spree. So she came up with a plan, Mrs MC is off to ride her horse, I'm doing the getting house in order. :banghead:

Lost my Aunty who was my Godmother yesterday, she was a month of being 100, the sad thing is that my cousins were not allowed to visit her once she had gone into hospital a week ago, must have been so frightening for her, difficult times.

Master time today, once it's gone it's gone. Keep safe.

Have a great day everyone.
We got up earlier yesterday to shop and it's getting so it does not suit me at all.
I like to have my three eggs in olive oil fried, or in butter scrambled, plus a small amount of jumbo porridge and a little fruit and spend an hour birding through the patio window. Only then go out and find the streets aired!

Like Dunelm we have some interesting places to walk, recently the lowland coastal mosses which Cumbria has some of the best in the world, have had boardwalks going for miles put across the swampy ground or they would be totally unaccessible.

Some say these raise peat bogs sink more carbon than any forests including tropical forest, hence money is being put into restoration after extraction of peat damage.

I am losing all my eBay bids on postcards this morning!
All my mail alerts are informing of this!
I made low bids on a few items on Monday for today.
But I dare not look into eBay this morning, because my head is still banging a bit from yesterday, and there is a chance if I increase the bid, I might put the decimal point dot thingy in the wrong place...

I think I need a cooked breakfast. There are some frozen cooked potatoes in the freezer as @alf_Josiah suggested may not increase blood sugars (and they didn't the last time I tried it). So looking forward to a cooked breakfast now...
I might try using frozen potatoes

Didn't get round to posting yesterday on an early shift and ended up only having 3 hrs sleep which gave me a reading of 7.9 and then today 7.3 , but I forgot to take any metformin yesterday .

good evening all :)

Hug for your loss of your Aunty and Godmother @Muddy Cyclist. @lindisfel my father also needed time to "get going in the mornings" by the time he was 80 so hug for you too. Our en suite is now a functioning wet room having been re-imagined by folks with a clue. Bathroom should be in the skip today. Playing catch up from last August/September's issues when our buyer pulled out and I was unavoidably detained elsewhere. We lost the brand new house which I specifically lined up to avoid any work for a decade. Meanwhile T2 management has gone nowhere. I'm still LC (probably the detested K word) and today is super salmon salad day. Effective or not it is the best this man can do. Unleash hell folks.

Fbg 6.2

No idea what the Beeb whether app says, it is so contrary but I see some blue sky and sun out there. But will it stay...
This time of year, as I am a bit high up the sun doesn't reach the ground in my back garden until nearly spring, although it shines on the roof of Popeye"s potting shed all winter. Potting shed is warmer than this bungalow in winter...

My painting for today...
I had a wobble as I started it, I just mentally went downhill, for no apparent reason, apart from all the rubbish going on around us these days. I know we are in the red alert area in Wales, which is why we got another strict lockdown a fortnight ago and more rules. But the council site says it is going to become stricter. I don't think anyone cares round here any more. They don't in my road. They are behaving as in pre-Covid times in every way. And next door is having their grandchildren and family over daily. Which is a no no in current rules. I give up.

So I painted over it and over it and over it. It started in iPastels. Painted over and over it with many layers of digital pastels. Disaster. Went into Procreate. About a 100 layers later, my wobble had gone. There is no rhyme or reason to this painting, apart from painting the wobble out of my head.

Cat, Popeye, wouldn't sleep with me again last night, he told me my wobble hadn't gone. I fell asleep and he came back in the bedroom and sat on my chest and woke me up to tell me my wobble had gone, and I was relaxed enough to sleep on....

He is going to find himself shut in the potting shed shortly, the sun is shining on it, and I can catch up on sleep...

So this is my offering for today.
