What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hi Ian,
I suppose multi generational occupancy in small houses is a real problem where everyone hears the same toilet flushed.

Some four bedroomed houses have only one decent sized bedroom.
I suppose its all down to the purchase price and the area.
But I would have thought whatever size of the house, if space is shared virus will be passed.

If one of us got it, I could live upstairs and the duchess downstairs.
She could make all my meals and put them on the stairs and I could return the dirty pots for them to be dish washed. :)
D.
Ps. Our house is not well designed, it is very non standard, one of our posh friends described it as a warren.
Since I don't get offended, I found the comment amusing.

Based on what I felt needed to be done here I can see that modern housing is a nightmare for COVID control for people without resources. The brand new house we would have bought, had not my spells in hospital last year lost it, was much better designed - albeit £80k more expensive. I can see where inequality impacts people's ability to manage covid risks and why home seems to be the place it spreads most.

Absolutely!

Actually in the interest of decency I do wear shorts over my tights. Two of my pet hates are older men in Cycling Lycra and those who wear those ridiculously baggy short shorts. Can't say I feel the same way about Lycra clad ladies, whoops not very PC. :)
I am so pleased to hear that you wear shorts over your tights.

My pet hate is also those ridiculously baggy short shorts. A nightmare for me would be for a male class member to turn up in them for a pilates class. Luckily it has only happened a couple of times.

double hug needed. One for fbg and one for eating almond butter in the first place - how do you do that, it is like self harm for the palate?
Unfortunately my palete absolutely loves almond butter. Last year I had to ban it from our house because I just couldn't resist it. Unfortunately it has crept back in.

Did you spot it before you sent the message?

I used to have a BlackBerry and when I ended a text to my daughter with Love Mum it always changed it to Love Nun.
No I didn't. I had written down estrogen, it changes things after you finish the sentence.
Also my phone used to change my middle daughter's name to Bouldoute. And that name has stuck now...

For those that doubt my standards of decency here I be in said Lycra Tights and Mountain Bike Shorts, in this picture on the left I weighed in at 15st 7lbs just before my T2 diagnosis and as a testimony to how in a few months the weight and HbA1c numbers can be reduced with LC diet, I include me as I am now at 11st 9lbs, did I hear someone giggling? :)

Hey, that is one heck of a transformation of weight. Congratulations @Muddy Cyclist !
:)

Good Morning and 5.8 for me today.

A day at MIL's bungalow, still not emptied everything, hope this week sees an end to this work. Getting more difficult as Wolverhampton isin tier 2 and residents there think it's going to go into tier 3.

My daughters and SILs schools have now got cases of Covid, Lichfield and Walsall. SIL is helping me move heavy things at MIL's today then We are supposed to be meeting for an evening meal tonight, they say the cases are not in their bubbles and they have had no contact with the families involved but it's our choice to see them or not, bother! :banghead:

Try and keep a grip on reality, use your time well. Keep safe.

Why? Oh I had a midnight bowl of Keto cereal because I got starving. I am never hungry, but stress makes me hungry.

Why was I stressed? Because I was watching and reading about this shambles of Firebreak lockdown in Wales. And these photos and more like them.

It turns out that even stationary is deemed non-essential. Consequently I am unable to buy pen and paper so I can communicate as a deaf person, unable to lipread this sea of masks, or at tills and so on.

I can't even buy a clean pair of knickers when I go out now, if I urgently need to. I do have waterworks problems as many of you know. Clothes are not deemed as essential. Even baby clothes. So any new born baby today is going to have to live its first 17 days naked.

The Welsh government knew they were going to do this Firebreak at the beginning of this week, yet they have still not come up with a list of essentials to guide the supermarkets what to cordon off. There are basic necessities in addition to food.

A total shambles.

Even the bus services are drastically cut down. And they were still drastically cut down from the last lockdown. I live at the top of a very steep hill. Prior to Covid I would give an older person (a stranger) who was struggling a lift to the shops at the bottom. At the first lockdown with the reduction in buses, it made me cry to see how many older people were struggling to get down the hill, and I couldn't give them a lift.

The Welsh Government has not given any thought to any of this. They have had time because they knew this Circuit Breaker as they first called it, and then renamed it Firebreak, was coming well in advance to last night. The old, the disabled, the infirm, the vulnerable, the immune system compromised have simply been told you are on your own this time, just go out in the morning very early and you should be safe then.

What have we become?

Then to add to all this Brexit Looms.

I gave you a hug but you deserve a winner for your strength to fight on.

Proper gallimaufry of posts since I last sullied forth. @gennepher hugs for the chaos in Welsh shops caused by failure to understand what essential means - maybe a quick skim read of Maslow's hierarchy of needs would help those in charge? @Krystyna23040 ?MSL at the thought of needing border police to repel invading almond butter. Presumably illegally landed by dinghy on N Norfolk coast. I've read all about that in The Telegraph. Pritti easy to fix:angelic: @Muddy Cyclist impressive images of your weight loss and almost surreal that we appear to both weigh about the same now from roughly the same top weight - are you around 6 feet tall as well?. @lindisfel I hope your daughter is making progress dealing with COVID and good on you for loving your warren. The properties around here are slightly more muscular than many areas as American service families expect some space so back in March Julie isolated easily but the upgrades will vastly improve matters. Julie stayed up with the dogs last night as they have no cone but prone to mucho lickeyo of the missing parts. Pip Pip old toots.

5.1 ➡️ this morning (Thought I would also include which way the arrow is going).

Genuinely surprised because I was awake this morning about 3am with this itching like hell and I woke myself up scratching around it in my sleep and then when I got up just now a full corner of the complex taping nonsense I have to put around the compeed plaster the sensor has to sit on to prevent allergic reactions was hanging off. Also it usually goes off the boil quite considerably with a couple of days to go so this one has been one of the most reliable I have used in a while!

Off to the physio early doors. I managed to tear my rotator cuff lugging boxes about in and out of the bomb shelter at the bottom of the garden while blitzing and tidying it during lockdown, and it has been taken lord's own time to heal. In the end I begged the physio to try anything else as I was waking up in agony for months with a deep wrenching pain, in the early hours, every day.

He tried shockwave therapy and the difference was amazing. Expensive treatment and usually they prescribe 4-6 weekly appointments, and we have compromised on 3 fortnightly ones because with no freelance shifts or steady work since March, that would be just out of my price range.

Has made the world of difference though - still wake up in pain in the morning (arthritic hands have taken up the baton) but nowhere near the gut-wrenching pain of the past few months which has upped my quality of life a fair bit!

Still hasn't improved my driver speed on a round of golf.. but suddenly I have been hitting consistently a lot straighter hahah!

Sorry to hear about the pain and cost of treatment but winner for soldiering on. Need a jealous enoji for consistent straight hitting. Injuries caused by previously unproblematic events such as moving boxes are a nuisance. I'm just about recovered from the torn bicep on July1 when moving packs of stone flooring. The guys who just laid it took a plank at a time:bigtears: Well done on Libre sensor working almost to the end and hug for the itching. I remember your issues with the sensor adhesion. Take care.

For me this is the hardest thing since being diagnosed as a diabetic - the time stuff takes to heal. So frustrating. Already have no cartilage left in both knees so have to ice/do anything I can to get inflammation down whenever I exercise so it feels as though I am now constantly battling various limbs as well as a wonky pancreas!

Congratulations on your amazing weight loss and high standards of decency.

5.4 this morning.

A bit tired because I worked almost non-stop for 12 hours yesterday. Got loads done on the computer. Was exhausted when I started teaching my evening classes but felt much less tired and rejuvenated at the end of the evening.

I'm currently torn between anger, laughing, and pity for the poor guy on the end of the phone. Julie's 90.9 yo mum was awoken at 2.00 am yesterday morning with water coming through the ceiling:arghh: She called the company she pays to deal with these issues. They came out turned off water and left saying we'll be back to sort things out. She didn't want to bother us. We found out in our phone call to her so Julie went and spoke at length to the company. Despite several more long, terse phone calls nothing has happened. Our boys have rescued their nan but the incompetence is staggering. The guy on the end of phone just now is having a torrid time. Another world leading uk success story. @Muddy Cyclist this is what we have become far too often.

I know my son works in retail and he told me that he couldn't get the tv guide ( part of my shopping list ) because all non food areas had been roped off . Halloween stuff etc are all been sent to stores in England ! . The reasoning ( if you can call it that ) is because clothing shops and non food shops that had to close during the first lockdown complained that they lost business whilst the supermarkets made a fortune .

I see the free laptops so that poor kids can do their homework have been cut by 80%!
Headmasters are said to be disappointed!

No meals for poor children on school holiday or off school due Covid..

Here we go again, shades of Snatcher Thatcher!
