What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Evening All

So ... it has been TMAD for me today - didn't realise it until I had my dinner - very busy day and time has just flew in today without me feeling hungry or even thinking about food!

Breakfast (8am) - 2 slices of slc bread toasted with 2 slices of pork and egg roll (I need to get more shopping in - fridge is getting empty) washed down with a mug of earl grey tea.

Dinner (5.30pm) mushroom & onion omlette. SF jelly with a very little of carnation milk drizzled over the top.

Evening.

Back to TMAD today. Lunch was leftover chicken wings from yesterday’s deliberately large order from Nando’s followed by a small pot of Yeo Valley Greek yoghurt.
Dinner was carnivore pizza topped with pepperoni and chorizo followed by cream and Waitrose 1 90% chocolate.

For those in the US (I’m looking at you @zauberflote), this appeared in the Diet Doctor Facebook Group.

Having another hungry day today. Craving something warm for brunch but not wanting eggs I made a chocolate mug cake which I had with cream, followed by 2 cheese slices and about an hour later 2, yes 2, Yes bars

Hubby had been in the garden and found about 50g of raspberries, so those disappeared through the afternoon. I can resist them if he puts them out of sight in the fridge, but something in his hunter gatherer mentality means he always has to leave his trophies in plain view. :banghead: :joyful:

Finally back in control at dinner so egg frittata of green veg. Just 5 eggs between 3 of us. Boys had chips as well

More sensible day and a bit more sleep.

Lunch: green leaf salad, smoked salmon, cottage cheese, 3 x keto-friendly coffee
Dinner: mushroom and spinach frittata added ricotta, basil and a little garlic, small protein shake + psyllium, stevia hot chocolate
Net carbs 15g

@SlimLizzy that is a big collection of bad. Hope UK lockdown whizzes by so you can all hug each other in real life again soon.

Thursday - boys here are usual for dinner so that meant a food swap for me as they were having steak pie, mixed greens and potatoes. Bed 6.1 FBG 7.2?? Legs were acting up a bit but no sign of anything developing. @SlimLizzy - hugs for everything going on. Not really what you want on your visit. Is there not an exception for "caring"? I have problems keeping up when everyone is different.
B. TAG and another SLC sandwich with ox tongue and coleslaw.
L. Nothing.
D. Spicy chicken wings with M&S whipped cheese and a couple of their mini mozzarella. 2 squares of 85% later.

@MrsA2 - on one of our trips to NYC we were heading back from a restaurant where they insisted I take a doggy bag. Only trouble was I'd had lobster and it was enormous! On the way we encountered a homeless man and I offered him my doggy bag. He looked, sniffed and said "Lobster? Seriously? Could you not have steak like normal people?". Ah well.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee
Late morning: black coffee and cookies and cream carb killa bar
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and packet of coconut bites.
Dinner: chicken satay sticks, leafy salad, coleslaw and pork scratchings plus a couple of small pickled onions followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

More odd BGs today bed 7.1 FBG 7.2. At least they descended to normal levels during the day. After fireworks going off all week they are still going off currently. Why not just have the one day and stick to it?
B. TAG and another SLC sandwich with ox tongue and M&S whipped cheese.
L. Nothing early pick up at school.
D. Another of the butcher's meatza with a couple of M&S mini mozzarella and a tomato. 2 squares 85%.

I've been a bit down today for no particular reason. Fireworks are still going off!

@SlimLizzy I think there us a lockdown exception for care visits. I don’t think there's any hard or fast definition of that. We use it to take food, prescriptions etc to a couple of 85 year olds we look after. Mostly we talk from 2 metre distance, outside if possible. Sometines we have to go in to fix things they couldn't do. They are near enough to drive to easily. We just use commonsense and work out risk factors. We have to be aware we may be more risk to them, especially my son who goes to his workplace daily, but while we were away he had to go in to help with a problem.
I don't know what we'd do if the distance meant overnight stays, so sorry if this doesn't help. We just fall back to commonsense and not taking too many chances

06.11.2020
Breakfast CWC, nut granola
Lunch. Radish, cucumber, coleslaw spring onion. One tiny grape sized tomato. Pile of pâté. Tea.
Dinner bacon omelette and a few chips. Ff Greek yoghurt. Wine.
Later finished off the pâté
Lemon tea.
Still seems impossible to get shopping delivered, or even a ckick and collect time less than four days in the future. Have decided to try Amazon food now but apparently I have to wait for an invitation. and cannot even start on a list until I get one.
Not sur what we will be having for breakfast. Maybe breaking out of quarantine to be to visit supermarket cafe.

@SlimLizzy that's an awful lot of stress. We really should have a companion thread to this one over in "Off Topic General Chat". Anybody think that's a useful idea?
@ianpspurs I love finding out that phrases I thought would have come over on the boats with us are asterisk worthy! We can get packaged ground buffalo in the supermarket-- so you might too?
@Annb smoked haddock, never heard of that! I might even enjoy it that way. That, cod, and scrod are my least favorite fish. Oh, and monkfish. Ick.
@Goonergal but I'll bet that pecan butter is $12.99 a jar!
@OzBlossom glad you slept-- does a body good!
@Rachox my reading brain is at it again-- I read "chicken safety strips" instead of satay. lol
@maglil I don't know my Scottish holidays-- fireworks are for...? Sorry you're down-- I hope a good night's sleep improves things lots of things!
Bfast avocado, pecans, boiled eggs, stoking up for son's some-sort-of-health-emergency situation in case he can't drive and I have to sit outside the ER for 12 hours (all turned out well by late this evening, with only phone intervention from me), flax crisps/dilute soymilk, 1.5 sq Lindt 90%
Lunch because all was still up in the air. Actually this is where the flax crisps happened, large number of macadamia$, cherry tomatoes.
Supper can of tuna with mustard on top, spinach/hm dressing, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red bell pepper, flax crisps in the microwave.
I start eating breakfast and supper while feeding the cats. MrZF eats later. Lord knows how this will ever work out if he ever retires!
Goodnight all, pray for peace and common sense from high places, see you in the morning!

Test because I can't see any new posts since mine and it's 5:00ish by you!

Hi All
Had high F G today despite smoked salmon for supper and some buttery celeriac mash. Otherwise yesterday had my usual brekkie of slice ZHiLo toast and lots of tea.
Lunch was egg mayo piled high on slice of HL toast.

today had the same brekkie. Then went off to collect my farm shop order and had my flu jab with a doctor in a tent on the way back.
Lunch was mushrooms, two toms and two eggs fried in butter and very tasty.supper will be h/m chicken curry & cauli rice. About to pour a gin & soda and toast the 46th President.

Thats not right...it was smoked haddock not smoked salmon!!

Evening all. I'm in quite a good mood for some unknown reason - even the food can't change that:angelic: Menu: B = lake of Assam TWAM ; Dockey None; L: 2 slices Skinnybread toast with h/m (by The Food Fairy) chicken and calvados parfait; tea,; EM: Steak, halloumi fries, mushrooms, toms .French mustard and salad . Julie wanted steak so I meekly played along. No sympathy needed. It wasn’t as horrific as it sounds. May rifle through boxes to find some bourbon to celebrate 9 months here, no more walls to knock down and something else I can’t remember just now.

Looks like we had a rare case of no-one posting for 15 hours on this thread. Everyone doing OMAD? :hilarious:
Had a slice of seeded low carb bread with a ridiculously thick layer of paté :hungry:.
Also had lots of coffee and tea before and during doing our Nationaal Dictee der Nederlandse Taal, a yearly event where you can make a fool out of yourself with a spelling test over the radio. Please allow me to brag, I only had 4 mistakes so I'm feeling smug as, erm, word of choice, and very pleased with myself despite this being a pretty much useless talent .

Then I stumbled on a recipe for microwaved kale chips. I didn't believe this would work so I tried it. It does work remarkably well, very crispy, but I don't think I like kale chips really.

Tonight will be a quick salad of tomato, cucumber, onion, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and a little balsamic vinegar to go with tuna melt muffin things.
Two will be enough, but I made three, as I froze a little of batter yesterday to test if you can freeze it, but if it doesn't work I still want two tuna melt things :)
The dogs and cats won't mind there being extra, so no waste!

No - TMAD for me today:hungry:

Evening all.

@Mrs T 123 Irn Bru! Used to love that.
@Antje77 not quite OMAD here, but a late dinner due to being out walking longer than expected: managed to catch the sun too!
@zauberflote I’ll be looking for the pecan butter next time I’m in the US. Seriously pining for New York.

Had a small breakfast before heading out into the sun - extra thick Jersey cream mixed with 20g Waitrose 1 90% chocolate. Very good way to start the day.
Dinner was lamb shoulder. Cooked in the gas oven and really delicious.

Today was a busy day in this hacienda. Trying to get the garden ready for it's hibernation seems to be taking a while - even though some of it is governed by it's die-back. It's looking neater though.

On food?

Breakfast the last of my home made goat's milk yoghurt, with some (no sugar added) cranberry coulis, some Kefir. Lunch was a ginagerous salad, with home made coleslaw and vintage Somerset cheddar. (Yummmy!)

Dinner has just been a couple of curries Madras and Tikka Masala - no rice for me, but a couple of small onion bhajis. I'm full!

I also made Cranberry infused Vodka today. It's rather nice, but also a fabulously cerise pink colour.

MrB declares that combo isn't for him. Oh dear, never mind. More for me!

When @zauberflote mentioned pecan butter the other day, I asked Dr Google about it. It appears it should be simple enough to find: https://www.google.com/search?q=pec...9j0i22i30l7.7416j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

(Maybe you don't want to find it.)
