What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Absolutely nothing wrong with being Polish or part Polish or anything else. I'm absolutely certain you are a real cutey pie but your food choices leave a lot to be desired. Lots of rugby on TV today - check Mr K's glass regularly, there's a good gel.
Ah, that's good news. My new Rebus book will be arriving today so I will be able to relax and read while Mr K watches the Rugby - with a glass of whisky of course.

Of course you do know that my food choices are absolutely normal and it is everyone else who has strange ideas about food

Being a midlander I had to Google NFN, so true though I'm always amazed at some of the folks lives that I have met from the area, mind you they have mostly been finger in ears folkies. :angelic:

Yes, what is that all about? I quite liked the Uni folk club sessions - refused to wear a fisherman's smock - but what was the finger in the ear nonsense all about?
Well you can’t always carry a conch shell about with you, I blame Ewan MacColl and all those other lefties who ironically used their right ears.

Did you ever have Fennings Fever Cure when you were young?
Its the worst taste I have ever come across.
:)
I remember it making my teeth feel rough and grindy@lindisfel. I think it was quinine but tasted like dilute acid!:arghh:

Update: I Googled Fenning's Fever Cure and read that it was dilute citric acid. No wonder it felt like it took the enamel off your teeth!

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and all who rose late ( other flowers available from all well stocked grocers ).

A naughty 5.2 on that $#$#%#$ meter this morning, serious calculations carried out, rain dances performed to determine insulin dosage. Things appeared to have worked.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers, here in Reading or as it is now known Covid-19 Central it is time to skip the Christmas shop and man the defences against all who wander up the drive.
Stay well, stay safe.

I can “see” this place - nature sometimes seems unbalanced but perhaps that’s because we may be standing in the wrong spot. I like your plastic trees strung along the shore line. Will you be propagating your Buddleia?

Thank you for the painting compliment :)

Oh, yes I am propagating the Buddleia...

A great rainy sketch from you this morning @dunelm
You must have been predicting the sudden turn in weather at 2:30 pm this afternoon from a beautiful blue skied sunny day, to dark as night clouds and horrendous winds chucking rain every which way...
I had to come in...

Watching the breaking news.

62% new variant in London.

How close are we to actually quarantining the south east, as they did to Lombardy Italy ?

So bye bye chrimbo 2020
Hello Easter 2021...:)

I have no idea. :)
Although of late I have been using my finger to open my left ear in which I am still deaf since March, but only to hear better and pitch the first note.

Hello Easter 2021...:)
I gave the optimistic because as I am a serious grouch I think We will be lucky to be in any better place come Easter.

Yeah, guessed that.

And it's true

I'm one of those that breaks down any long 'journey' into bite size, manageable way points

Easter seemed far enough away to PERHAPS be clear of the debris from the Christmas meet ups travels etc.

I do see your point, just hope you are wrong
As I'm sure you do, too.

Stay safe, sure this will have a ripple effect on other tiers.

Enjoy the Christmas, however you decide to have it:)

I would think you are being very optimistic @Muddy Cyclist

Not Easter 2021. More like Easter to Summer 2022 at the very least before we get to a remotely better place with Covid...

All my art friends optimistically think we will be meeting soon in the New Year and painting together again. We won't. Not any time soon...

For some reason that Welsh announcement that lockdown begins midnight tonight is making me feel very very hungry (I finished eating for the day at 3 pm).

Advent poem today is another of Malcolm Guite's own based on today's O Antiphon. O Radix Jesse. I like this part of his explanation: "the root of all goodness, wherever it is found and in whatsoever culture, or with whatever names it fruits and flowers, a sound tree cannot bear bad fruit" and his comment elsewhere about the temptation to put the name of one's God on a flag and bash everyone else with it. He feels "The Church" is far too guilty of that. Certainly that vibe has been expressed by one or two posters here. Enjoy the poem and any hazardous research you undertake before, during after or instead of.

Thanks, I hope it will all go well for Easter but with a shortage of Vaccine after January and no more arriving until March unless Oxford one comes good I doubt it.
Christmas, just me and Kathy and Zoom with kids.
Hugs for Tier 4 restrictions.
