What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Swipey: 5.8 ➡️ - In the green all night and no jump at around midnight-1am so it looks like switching to have Jardiance at lunch and then metformin at dinner and before I go to bed is working to smooth that out. And especially given all the over-indulgences over the past few days (there... I said it)...

Think I am going to do work out Weds and Fri and back at it proper after all this merriment malarky has gone.

Lots of work planned today - lots of content to get written up for New year health-kick nuts and a brief interlude before the tennis season gets underway.

I have decided to ask my financial advisor to draw down the money I need to pay off my deferred self-assessment tax bill during lockdown, and to pay back the friend who bailed me out after the horror temporary tenant who broke all the expensive things! I feel I would rather do that than start the year with a debt. Psychologically it feels like the right way to get those out of the way. As my own, wonderful keeper of a BF says - this is your rainy day money. It might take a few weeks to draw down so as not to skew interest etc from the investment wrap but I need to feel like I am starting the New Year the right way.

This month FINALLLLLLY the rent from my late mother's bungalow looked to be at full strength with no sneaky little expenses coming out of left field. So for the first time since the summer when it was empty, I feel a little less anxious about it. Even Cave-Dweller's rent arrived this morning. I can even make up for not working out this morning by running up and down the stairs between my personal PC and my "work" laptop and printer down in the office.

One thing I am anxious is ... the next trip to the supermarket and after playing an extensive game of rock-paper-scissors with myself I decided that I neither have the stamina or the self-loathing to submit myself to Saimsbury's after a bank holiday Monday. I am going to use up what I have or buy spares from the Tesco Metro up the road and will hit Sainsbury's maybe on Sunday morning.
What a great mental exercise - no - not the rock paper scissors - the debt free by year end - back to breathing again. Sainsbury's - can recommend the joy of in and out early doors before the attack of the zombies, list firmly clutched in gel soaked hand, all items ticked off. I now draw my list in the shape of isles and make a Treasure Island map to X marks the till - just hope that they do not change where things are any time soon.

Good
Interesting, isn’t it, when we are not told what a thing is - does it invoke some sort of agnosia or just the brain scanning it’s album? I thought buffalo but it’s whatever you like.
Why are my finger nails telling me that a job as a miner of coal would be a better idea?
Good morning@dunelm. I saw reindeer enjoying their release from the sleigh. :D

Great news about the impact of changes on BG, rent from the bungalow and decisions on how to proceed with regard to bills and loans. That all sounds like a major turn around from earlier in the month so I am delighted for you, I still need to see the words Rosington Bear on the screen but I mustn't be greedy.

Rozzington Bear is happy to oblige.

I think get there early on Sunday morning, get what I can (and I am so stealing the treasure map idea... and blatantly saying it was mine all along)... As for the changing things... oh the irrational rage I feel when they do that! Why... WHYYYYYY!

I binned the thick dark chocolate biscuits. Delicious but not worth it.

My digital painting for today. In Procreate.

I am taking some time away from this forum and thread. I have a lot on, and I am falling behind on stuff, and I can't keep up. Also that poem, tanka/haiga of yesterday was of something personal, something very sad I found out on Sunday. And I need time.

I hope 2021 brings you all a promise of better things than what we have experienced in 2020.

Take care
>^..^<
you come back when you feel ready gennepher you and your art will be missed ,love and best wishes for the new year xx

Got me worried now, Buffalo and Escaping Reindeer and I see Hopping Fleas. :( I took another look in the hope of seeing magnificent wilder beats, African Elephants, gazelle, or some long lost mythical creature, alas no, what did I see? Fleas. :banghead:

Is there any hope for me or have I succumbed to Agnosia? :(

Interesting snowy drive across Cannock Chase, a few stuck cars, a few in ditches, roads closed by police cars, basically if you can't drive in snow stay at home. I struggled all the way to Cannock and back with no mishap but it was all a waste of time, deafness is ear wax. I knew this but as my Health Centre would not look in my ears, no face to face contact with patients, take my word that it was ear wax they made an ENT appointment. Audiologist said I was the Third person today sent from my Health Centre to be told it's ear wax, seems the Centre is just passing problems down the line.

Outcome, I have to "make a mess and bath in Olive oil" Audiologists words not mine. I have an appointment this Thursday to be vacuumed. :)

good evening all :)

4.5 today

a wet and windy day today but better than the freezing we had yesterday :joyful: I do find being cold trying :sorry:

Picked up the weekly list from mum so we're asw ready as we can be for shopping early doors tomorrow ;)

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

@Muddy Cyclist - what a splendid painting!, your art always inspires me. that sky is lovely. dramatic and pleasing :)

@dunelm - interesting new technique and I like the result, quite 'Lascaux' esque :joyful: I think water buffalo, it's the grand sweep of the horns ;) :D

@gennepher - thank you for the the information on the form of the poem, it's not one I've met before. I look forward to hearing about and perhaps seeing the results of your papermaking. A lovely if a little sad painting today in light of your decision to step back. I send hugs for your sad news and hope you will be back when you feel able to. Your art and the spirit behind it will be missed.

art bit - it was in my mind to ask today about our daily art resolution from last New Year. I began along with @gennepher and @Muddy Cyclist even if I didn't get up the courage to post things immediately and it's has been both a joy and a good discipline ;)
I feel I should try to continue.

today was me trying to make my trees a bit more 3D, not bad but not a howling success, they've sort of melted together :hilarious:

Actually I do think that your painting is a howling success.

Thank you. Please keep posting art this year, I will if the forum is happy for art to continue, it makes me paint and not procrastinate which is my natural tendency.

That snow scene works well, I can see what you mean about the trees, however it is still a very well painted piece of art, I like the shadows you manage to give the snow.

I, for one, am really happy for the daily artwork to continue.

Do let me know what you think about The Thursday Murder Club - it’s on my list. Got to plough through three of Stephen Fry books at present though; Mythos, Heroes and Troy.
Am not sure yet what I think about it as l don't think I have read enough it. Will report back when I have read a bit more.
