I haven’t caught up. My MIL passed away in her sleep in the early hours of yesterday morning. She had been very ill for a long time.
Anyhow, I painted this for her. Stay well, still drinking koffy.

condolences for your wife and yourself ,you are both in my prayers and thoughts big hugs x

On a cold and Darcy affected morning have a present of a wander around what I feel to be a typical Breckland landscape with a song from a couple I came across via local news . They took to live streaming during lockdown and have an interesting collection of songs recorded in a farm (grain?) silo. May interest a few - @Muddy Cyclist?
Lovely song and a lovely wander through the Breckland landscape.

Fbg 13.8 this morning.

When I said there was a text yesterday saying I was invited to take up the Covid jab at the Rainbow Hospital,I forgot to mention it was at 10:30 this morning. Less than 24 hours notice, so I think I went into a bit of a panic.

Hence that high Fbg. I am not good with stress. I am calm and show no outward signs, but inside...and I was worried with communication because of my deafness. That is usually the major issue, because I have no idea what I am walking into.

There was a couple hundred people in front of me queuing outside (mostly elderly) when I got there. OMG. At least it wasn't raining or snowing, but it was below freezing. But the queue moved pretty quickly. A lot of elderly struggled, and I did too. I had my Walker, so I had to keep sitting on that. People were kind.

I had my usual signs saying I could only lipread. That helps a lot.

I was given the Pfizer vaccine. It only hurt momentarily as she withdrew the needle. Otherwise I am fine. I feel a bit sleepy now. The bg levels are going down. It wasn't food related.

When I got home I looked at my Covid jab card. I noticed a couple of crossed out bits with a blue biro. The bit that said your next jab is due, but that and the empty box was was crossed out, as was the bit that said read the nhs site on Covid 19. But we were given a booklet on Covid. This got me wondering if this is the only Pfizer jab we will get?

I texted my art group, they have all had the jab, but they all had the Oxford one (they went to their GP for the jab), and they have a date in 3 months time to make an appointment for the second jab of Oxford vaccine.

Any thoughts?
@gennepher I had the first Pfizer vaccine last week and was told that they will contact me in 12 weeks for the second one. Mr K had the Oxford vaccine and was told the same. If we had booked on the NHS website at one of their large vaccine hubs (instead of the local venue through our surgery) we would have been given the date for the second jab when we booked the first one.

A really lovely painting. So sorry that MIL passed away.

Lovely song and a lovely wander through the Breckland landscape.
I'm glad you - an expert - feel that is Breckland in a nutshell. As a newcomer for the next 50 years I was hesitant. Did you catch those two on Look East? (I really miss the Cambridge based version (West) and can't cope mentally with Basildon and Southend being in my region)

5.5 today.
Dogs were desperate for their walk this morning so we did go out. Snow was over my ankles in some places but not too slippery. The only problem was that you couldn't see where the kerbs were as the snow was so deep. safely

Now safely back in the warm. Soup made and second load of washing is on.

No I didn't catch them on Look East. They really did capture Breckland in a nutshell. It was nice to be reminded how lovely it is.

Condolences for the loss, @dunelm

Hope Mrs Miggins can find some comfort in the memories and the warm embrace of the family.

Beautiful picture.

Phew. I am being given intensive lessons in how to speak Suffolk by @Diawara who has put me in touch with an expert - hard work but I hope to have mastered some basics when we start the New Normal. Have to say a combination of US accents and Estuary English would probably suffice.

Ah. That is interesting @Krystyna23040

I was just simply sent a text the day before with the following day’s appointment and time for the jab, which I attended yesterday.
There was no option to book or to change the appointment.

Mr K had a phone call and a choice of days he could book. I was only given the option to book an appointment for last Wednesday. It seems like even in the same area the systems are not identical.

Hugs for the sad loss of a loved one, winner for a beautiful memorial painting.

I am now guessing they might be working from different lists from different sources. And I am now guessing that because mine was a very last minute one, that it might have been someone else's cancellation for the next day.

Someone has just this minute posted on the local neighbourhood website, that she declined the last minute appointment she was sent because it was inconvenient. (Maybe I was the one who got her appointment!). And when she telephoned for another appointment she was told she couldn't make one, but had to wait for another text. She is spitting feathers. All her replies are giving her short shrift for not turning up. No one has any sympathy for her. Oops.

I expect once most/all of the Covid jabs have been given, then there will be a central database for all this stuff. At the moment it is a bit of a mish-mash....

Finished my second sunrise. This person lives on a hill near Tutbury looking East over the Trent Valley so here is the view from his back garden. The third sunrise I was asked to do more abstract looking through the wood at the bottom of their garden. As I didn't post yesterday here be the finished one and the start of the next all wrapped up in Clingfilm at the moment.

Both A4 watercolours....

I have added more foreground detail to above painting now it's dry, useyour imagination for more grasses. :)

The next one I will finish Wednesday.

Brilliant sunrise again @Muddy Cyclist
You are becoming famous for your sunrises!

Clingfilm one shows promise...

good evening all :)

4.6 yesterday and 4.7 today

BT were digging down the road yesterday, putting in a new fibre connection for someone I think. Accordingly our internet speed was mince yesterday and I couldn't get my posts to upload :sorry:

Much snow today, the plough went down the main street at about 11.00 am but we've had about another 4 inches so far since then. Don't know how we'll go on tomorrow as we usually go out early to shop on Wednesday's.

Mr gee had to dig out round the house to get to the bird feeding area. Lots of hungry birds today ;) He's put up a new pole to support peanut and fatty ball dispensers because the old one had rotted through at the bottom so we've done our best for the birds today :)

We had a small flock of what I think were fieldfares, there is a contoneaster bush up the garden which was covered in lovely red berries. There were about a dozen fieldfares eating from it for part of the afternoon, most of the berries are gone now but it was lovely to see so many feeding :joyful:

@dani96xx - welcome :)

@gennepher - no one here is getting a second vaccine appt. everyone has been told they will be contacted again. I hope we can get out to the nearest town for mr gee's jab on Thursday :sorry: the weather is supposed to improve by then ;)
two fine paintings , the colour is really cheering on the first one and I like the starry bits in the background :) the second has lovely ethereal blossom on that rich blue background :)

@ianpspurs - enjoyed the video and the scenic tour :)

@SlimLizzy - glad he's feeling a bit better and I hope he continues to improve quickly :)

@dunelm - I'm sorry for your family's loss. Sending a hug and a prayer especially to Mrs. Miggins.
That's a beautiful and delicate painting you have produced

@Muddy Cyclist - Hope your arthritis settles down soon :)

Stunning sunrise painting, a beautiful sky and those trees are so well drawn :joyful:
I like the clingfilmed start and look forward to the progression ;)

art bits -
no 1 - last evening's bit - I was trying out a new paint I bought with the last batch, it is a gold metallic, bit of a novelty I suppose but I was interested to see how it would perform, metallics seem to be on the go at the moment ;) It works quite well providing you do an underpainting though it's difficult to see the effect on the scan. done with a fine line pen and watercolour

and no 2 - this evening's offering
trying out the warm blue again (at least something is warm :hilarious: )
