Well WHAT a GLORIOUS day.

Up with the larks, off to hospital to discuss with doc my progress.

He's saying excellent progress, very impressed
As was I....

Been discharged, all bones set in place and no unexpected movement.

Bonus was I had first meeting (1on 1) with physio...
Plenty of exercise examples run through
(Surprising how 8 weeks laid up can snafu your muscle memory)

Lots to do over the coming weeks, admittedly
Next sessions on line only.

So aching but glowing inside at the good news.
A hot cuppa to celebrate...

Best of days everyone

good morning everyone from a damp bin day in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of twice roasted celeriac with spiced chicken came in at 5.1 this am

Not much time today - mother in law’s funeral.
Quick sketch on backing paper yesterday looking for froggy ideas. Have a great day if you can. Best make some koffy

It's interesting and I think we all have to realise the Vaccine will protect the NHS but not eradicate the spread or catching Covid. This morning we have received a message from MILs care home that 4 members of staff and 2 residents have Covid again and they are closed to visitors, that is after all residents and all staff have had Vaccine. Covid is here to stay and we will have to find ways to manage living with it, not good or easy times ahead.

What worries me is so many people I speak to think life is returning to how it was pre Covid.

Not disputing much of that sadly.

Do think it will be a case of we move on, with some measure of what we do now, practiced by some ala korean/japanese/chinese tourtists, with masks etc

Some as you say will still be affected, which will be our new normal
"My roger's come down with covid"
" Omg, i do hope he recovers and your all safe"
"yes, we've been advised to limit contact for now, that's why i called,
didn't want you thinking i was being rude not coming over"

and sadly the Homes front will be normal to have a bout, much as we might get with norovirus,
where they'll limit visitors.

We're clicking our heels at least toto, but we're still a long way from Kansas.

Morning one and all!

FBG was 6.0 and my 0800 with the diabetic nurse has finished. Great person - not my usual DSN, but as brilliant and understanding. Appreciate the early appts.

She even signed off on Accu-Chek mobile cassettes (first time ever), lancets too. I don't expect that'll be repeated. Meds stay the same. And I am getting the covid jab early next week...which is a huge surprise.

My recent HbA1c came back at 47 which is a whole lot different from the last one...

T2D remains a mystery...as I wasn't that good last night after my best intentions!

I now have a Costa in hand and leered at the muffins although I stopped myself buying one just in time...

Rest of day is work. More work. And a glance here for sanity reasons :)

Happy Wednesday!

whoop whoop on the jab front.

and DNS sounds a keeper.

and here for sanity...?...:hilarious:

Have you not read most of the posts..:wideyed::wacky:

:D;)

Some of the elderly getting their vaccines seem to believe they have been freed from a huge burden and are now released.
I am afraid we have had a serious problem hung round our necks like the Ancient Mariners albatross.
But we are paying the price for others not treating the planets creatures with respect.
I wish I could see complete normality coming back to us in all our futures.

What next will we have to face?
Meanwhile Nigeria's affluent are driving their bush meat illegal trade.
I would like to think the Chinese have stopped killing pangolins and eating bats and trading them in disease ridden wet markets but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Result :woot: Obviously we've never met in real life so we might both be total bleeps but I'll go out on a limb and say it couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

They put the fifth years to work through the pandemic. I hope she gets through all her vivas and exams ok. She has picked a very hard working career.
My daughter is 58 this year and teaches 5th year students G.P practice, but due to being on the frontline doing call out in early December she caught Covid and now has long covid and is easily exhausted.
D

Very sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she's doing ok.

Yes, she was out there on the front lines and now cramming it all in. Wants to get into cardio thoracic surgery, a tougher road to travel I can't imagine...

Bloods after a later than normal lunch - 2 hours after - sitting at 5.7.

It was a tin of Baxter's lobster bisque and a container of anchovies with some greens ruined by a massive blob of peanut butter in yoghurt sprinkled with raspberries.

Tonight, it's roasted halibut with cauliflower mash and broccoli. Talking with the boss at midnight (ughhh) - alright for her, she is on the US west coast - 4pm there.

Red eyes tomorrow morning for this getting older dude!

Thanks BRS, it will be a matter of time.

Your daughter will be of the type who get called in to help vets with the apes.
Heard they can sometimes operate on chimps and gorillas.
Of course they are well out of it first! .....
The chimps and not the doctors! :)

good evening all :)

5.3 this morning

Just a quick post today, don't think my cranky old body liked the covid jab yesterday :sorry: I was fine for about 4 hours then I got a stinking headache and went off to bed early, couldn't get warm so not much sleep.

Dosed up on paracetamol and went shopping and dropped mum's stuff off then I went back to bed for the afternoon ;) Feeling a bit better and not as achy now so hopefully back to more normal tomorrow :)

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

Let us know how you're doing...Arthur the Poodle has already told me he'd like an update..

T2D is a roller coaster...I find I do one thing and it somehow effects the diabetes or something else like sending cholesterol through the roof... The trials and tribulations.

So not what you want to hear,
However it should soon pass

And at least now the upside is you'll be growing protection from the worst of covid, please god.

What jab did you receive, @geeful.?
