What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

2nd day of holibobs!
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch at the Spa: Caesar salad, tweaked by a very friendly chef, he replaced the croutons with little cubes of bacon and Brie.
Afternoon at the pool: Atkins bar and Coke Zero.
Dinner at Italian restaurant with another helpful chef: bolognese with a generous sprinkling of Parmesan and tender stem brocolli in place of spaghetti followed by coffee with cream.

I was bad yesterday. It was a celebration day for my partner so we went away.

Breakfast was a sausage and egg McMuffin. When we stopped, I accidentally had an oat latte which was my own stupid fault.

Lunch was a Wetherspoons mixed grill with a handful of chips.

Dinner was a bacon cheeseburger at the races, which was really lovely.

I also had a mixed cocktail, which I am not sure what was in it but the guy said it was the lowest sugar one he could make. Coupled with the 20,000+ steps, I've woken up exhausted and with quite a low fasting blood reading (4.6).

Still, as a special day, I don't regret it. Just means now until next week, I am back on it properly and fully committed
We all need to celebrate , and it's not right or fair to expect everyone else to fit in with our way of eating, especially when celebrating, whatever the occasion.
Hope you both enjoyed the day and you dont feel too guilty about it.

Yesterday was a mixed bag of a day - I had a hotel breakfast of 2 sausages, 2 bacon and scrambled eggs (actually wasn't very nice) with a cup of average coffee. Lunch time, albeit later than I would have liked, was piri piri chicken fillets from Sainso with a salad, pickled egg, gherkin and onion and some coleslaw followed up with some yoghurt.

Main meal was hunters chicken with cauliflower cheese and then some 90% dark chocolate (very bitter but also very nice!)

Bit behind - away for a few days.

@DJC3 know what you mean about broken yolks. It’s so disappointing. I seem to be a world expert at it too!

Yesterday was a bit of a ‘grazing’ day. Had a small M&S cold platter of Gouda, chorizo and salami before leaving home.
Then on the train teo cold chicken legs (M&S again), one of the Lidl packs of nuts and a pack of 3 Hotel Chocolat 85% batons.
Dinner was al fresco in the park next to the Cathedral in Birmingham - a small mixed ‘gymbox’ from German Doner Kebab.
Then more nuts during the football……

Today has started with a hotel breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and 1 small sausage. Breakfast comes free for me here so have switched to a breakfast and dinner plan for the next few days.

Breakfast: bacon and egg. No bacon left now until Neil goes shopping for me.

2nd meal: will be roasted cauliflower and carrots with ham - ready to go, but I'll leave it for a bit - BG dropped down too low this afternoon, so I had some potato crisps to bring it back up and am now feeling too full to think about eating.

Very, very tired these last few days. Don't know why. I have an appointment (delayed by about 18 months) to see the medical consultant at the hospital tomorrow. No doubt he'll just order blood tests as usual and say he'll make another appointment for 6 months time. Neil will take me and get me into the outpatients' department and then go and do some shopping for me before picking me up again about an hour later.

Breakfast today was more of a lunch dish, but I’d been up for 5 hrs so it didn’t seem odd. LoDough wrap with ham, Dijon mustard, cottage cheese and red pepper
Late lunch of prawn salad, h/b egg, avocado, leaves, cherry toms and dressing made with oo plus fresh lime juice.
Dinner another IP curry this time lamb. Served it on a microwaved aubergine. I didn’t realise they microwaved well. Not quite as nice as baked, but much easier than putting the oven on on a hot day.
Felt the need for something sweet so a DGF raspberry bakewell.
@Goonergal glad you arrived safe and sound in Brum.

Third day of my holibobs!
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: spicy chicken wings, Brie and a leafy salad followed by raspberry carb killa bar.
Mid afternoon: coconut cappuccino and a choc brownie phd bar.
Dinner at Las Iguanas: chicken and coconut curry, greens and a side salad followed by DGF blueberry and lemon drizzle cake with cream back at our lodge.

usual breakfast of ff greek with seeds and strawberries
L: 2 hard boiled eggs with mayo, some marmite nuts and x number of chocolate biscuits, which I had served to guests but they didn't eat them all so I had to. (Blush)
D: hm chicken curry (same as Monday as forgot to freeze the leftovers. Added extra spices and cream) 1 glass red

Usual bacon, cheese omelette, last of the mushrooms (2), I cannot get any from the store we get our online shop from so going to check the mushroom farm out along the road to Moore Park beach If I get time.
Lunch was hit and run and did not eat much.
Spag bog for dinner, which should have been put off for today as the pasta spirals rocked my bgl a two or three points. Nice though.

30.06
Breakfast: CWC, nut granola
CWC
Lunch: salad, hm coleslaw, ham and a couple of the French version of ryvita.
Cup of tea. Very sleepy after lunch, been like that for a few days now, guessing I have been doing too much overall.
Still should be able to slow down a little soon, she said hopefully.
Now we have moved into the bedroom upstairs MrSlim has already started dismantling the space we were sleeping in, a room divided into three rooms, which he is going to return to its original size.
Dinner was the ratatouille I made this morning with chicken breast, roasted cauliflower and a few peas.
Glass of rosé and later some CWC
Had a few spoonfuls of peanut butter.its a new one to me, unsweetened and very tasty. Going back to Aldis to get a couple more jars, am thinking will make excellent base for satay sauce.
Lemon tea.

Yesterday was back to work, and so back to some reality:
Two egg cheese omelette with two butchers sausages for breakfast, chicken breast with mixed salad and pickled egg/gherkin/onion plus full fat coleslaw.
Dinner was chicken fajitas (two Weight Watchers wraps which made up a good portion of my daily carb intake but were delicious) followed up by some 90% Ugandan chocolate from Sainsburys.

A few cups of coffee etc during the day.

Reading all of your posts makes me feel envious. I do so wish I could have a little treat now and again, without disastrous results. Is there a treatment for envy? FBG was "only" 8.7 but it soon rose to 13.5. Despite a correction dose (about half of what I would normally take with food) it stayed at upper 12s to mid 13s until breakfast. Then it started to drop and is currently 5.4. I really don't understand it at all.

Breakfast: frittata made with some veg left over from yesterday and some grated cheese. Shouldn't have bothered with the cheese; it didn't add anything to the dish and, in fact wasn't a very nice cheese anyway. It was a strong cheddar that Neil had bought for me and it was not so much strong as bitter. Well - that's it gone anyway - what I used for the frittata was the last of it. It's left me feeling quite full, so shouldn't be any problem only having the 2 meals today.

2nd meal: will be a skate wing fried in butter - lightly browned rather than nut brown or black.

Hanging around just now, waiting for time to go to the hospital. There are jobs I could do, but I don't feel like it. For a change, today is hot here; not as hot as in other parts of the world, but it must be about 19 or 20 degrees outside. For us that's hot - inside is over 20 I should think. I've had to take off the sweater I put on this morning!
