What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It was pouring with rain this morning....and when I got to the vaccination centre, there was over a hundred people already waiting for the 8.30 appointment! A few people motioned me forwards in to queue to in front of them, then a few more, until finally I was at the front of the queue. That was so sweet of them.

Then it all did move quickly. So I got seen to at 8.35.

I had to go to a different person because mine was second jab (and all these appointments were for people's first jabs) and that's why I got out so quickly! For some reason the nurse said mistakes were made and I was not on the system, she did apologise, but because I had my vaccination card with the vaccination number they could check on the system that it was 8 Feb that it had been administered. And the nurse that jabbed me made sure it was all on the computer system this time and I got a new card to say I have had both jabs.

There may be some summer to come so a few of you could be having a barbeque perhaps tomorrow or Saturday. We have some meaty ribs from W'''''se marinading for tomorrow in a low carb sauce we use. I thought I would share this and another version just in case. Hope it opens for you.

Ta! Liquid smoke - whatever next. Just been making a thick onion gravy for tonights dinner - I thicken with xantham gum and it always goes into lumps that need to be squished at the side of the pan - not today geniuses - I spotted the mesh tea strainer as I went for a spoon - just like icing a cake.

Good call on xantham gum - gravy issue has been a major reason I rarely eat cooked food. Once the Food Fairy has the use of both legs I will call in the odd favour - beg for her help
 
good evening all :)

4.7 yesterday and 4.4 today

a mixed bag of weather these days sun, rain and mist. Since we had a warm sunny morning we took barbeque makings over to mum's today and ate in the garden :) Thank you for the sauce recipe @ianpspurs - I shall try it for a future event ;)

Bit of a disappointment finding ourselves the subject of BJ's trial and error approach at this stage isn't it :sorry: I am doubly determined to continue taking the usual precautions, 'freedom day' indeed!

Our main hospital in the Highlands is already at 'code black' with covid cases rising and all non urgent operations etc. are cancelled :(

Lots of visitors hereabouts because the Scottish Schools are now on holiday;)

@dunelm - charming Procreate sketch from yesterday with the blossom dropping it's petals over the waterfall :joyful:
Poor GIB, hope she takes to her cast well and heals quickly (from memory those casts are nice and light but still a bit itchy ;))
I like your dry/wet experiment very much, I hadn't thought of using a hair dryer, sounds interesting, it's produced a nice effect and I like the touch of colour :)

You're a man after mr gee's own heart eyeing up the dud technology with a screwdriver and a gleam in your eye :hilarious:

@ianpspurs - I had a tentative go at some chutney, I chose to make a small amount of rhubarb chutney based a recipe I found online, from my own observations I think I would make a small change to the method next time, I shall post the recipe when it's been tested with cheese and oatcakes by mr gee :D

@JohnEGreen - I hope your MG stays at a reasonable level until the antibiotics are finished for you

@gennepher - glad your second jab went off smoothly and you were able to get your records corrected :) it's nice that there is still some niceness in the world too :joyful:

I like both your owl paintings, Popeye and the owl seem to be developing a rapport in the first, but then he is a wise and wiley old cat :D

the splendid pair of owls in the painting today seem intent on sheltering their little furry sibling ;), that texture in the foliage is really effective too :)

Wonderful art as per usual. The chutney sounds promising and the testing protocol is exemplary. "BJ's trial and error approach". If only Charlotte.

Poor Errant. Not only did I reduce his breakfast but he got blamed for the puddle just outside his facilities... when it is actually water falling from the ceiling.
Oops. We have a leaking tap in the ensuite, which is directly above the downstairs shower room.

I will continue to take the usual precautions as well @geefull
Prior to Lockdowns last March, I was catching some bug or other most weeks because of my teaching situations at the community centre. Since Lockdowns and wearing masks, I have not caught one nasty bug of any sort. Masks are staying forever for me, even if I am lone pioneer in this.

Yesterday was good in every way regards the jab. Thank you.

He is definitely a Wiley old cat :)

4.7 this morning. 4.8 last night. So BS has definitely recovered from the 3 day zoom course and tiredness. 3 days sitting at a computer is just too long.
All classes are local today so it is lovely not having to travel to Norwich - although it was much easier this week as the roadworks are finished in my part of the Southern Bypass so it didn't take an extra 30 minutes to get there.

When I were a lad summer used to be better;) Today is that day when I realise how I arrived at the point of needing to change course. Morning weigh in showed 11s 10lb in old money 74.4 kgs for the woke. Tiredness isn't hunger and LC cals are still cals - PE diet 101 really:banghead: @gennepher MuddyCyclist is fine just taking a break. More granddaughter minding today before two sons arrive for The Match - we want to share time with you translates as you've got the biggest house, telly and alcohol stash plus no sleeping kids, dad. Go on, enjoy loud and proud. It deserves a revival - T-shirt on order great cause, get yours:woot::woot:

Thank you @geefull as always for your kind comments - some Chinese artists dry their paper by covering with another sheet of rice paper and using an iron to speed up the painting process if many layers are needed. Particularly like this painting. Spot on, very dramatic and excellent use of light.
