Good to see a so called superstar get deported Sunday afternoon for not obeying Australia's laws, laws are for all people to obey here.
@Riva_Roxaban, agreed, especially as Australia has been so tough on its own citizens in its attempts to limit the pandemic. It would be jolly if our own UK government members could likewise be deported for not obeying our laws during the pandemic, but who would have them?

Evening all.

@coby the more the merrier - just chip in!

Another OMAD today. Didn’t plan it but as with @Tori71 it was such a sunny day that once I finished work this morning, there was only one option - get out in the sun! Had a little jaunt around Greenwich Park. First time in a while and very enjoyable, even if the deer have been relocated to Richmond Park.

Anyway, back on topic, the meal was a sirloin steak picked up in Aldi yesterday, 2 small lamb chops and 3 rashers of smoked streaky bacon. Was craving a chocolate eclair all day, but managed NOT to go into M&S and settled for buying some extra nice meat in Waitrose instead. Pic of that to follow later.

The chats are not private and everyone is very friendly, so don't feel shy about joining in. It's a very helpful forum offering lots of support. I post quite often, so there's maybe too much of me, but I'm one of those sad souls who have very little else to do - others have lives to live!

Well done for losing 5 lbs. That's brilliant.

Thank you @Annb for your support. I do often want to 'join in' but am a rather quiet soul really, so feel in the way. I'm okay on most of the other threads for some reason! I am now only 14 pounds over my ideal eight but have really been concentrating more on reducing visceral fat than anything else. I've always had a thick waist! It's lovely to join in and be accepted though :)

Yes, please keep joining in whenever you feel like it!
The main thing going on this thread is what we've eaten, and on top of that there is some conversation going, which you are perfectly free to ignore or reply too!

You've just convinced me not to buy the SLC porridge.
I thought you had bought it before around the same time as me - did you ever try it? Imo it tastes like what I would imagine baby sick to be like - disgusting - but I have eaten it a) because of the price b) because it has a lot of the good stuff in it - I overload it with greek yoghurt & berries and when that is all gone I chuck the rest of it in the bin - I will never buy it again but I think they have taken it off at the moment as they are trying to improve the taste - which wouldn't be hard ....

@coby welcome to the low carb food thread and well done on your results. Everyone who joins in with this thread enjoys more people joining and sharing what they eat plus getting some advice, recipes and support at times. I find it helpful for me to stay on track.
Today’s low carb food:
Lunch two cooked chicken thighs from yesterday’s roast chicken - served with a couple of cherry tomatoes and six of the m and s seed crackers- out in town shopping this morning and managed to get hold of some - yay. Tried the new cheese and onion ones today whole packet works out at less than 5g of carbs - they are 130g packs at 3.3g carbs per 100g ( the non flavoured ones are 3g of carbs per 100g) as there are 22 crackers in the pack they are low carb and £1.80 per pack. I’ve now got several packs in my cupboard; as had vouchers to use, so will feature in my posts in future! Also had fage yoghurt and a few raspberries
Mid pm gave in to four squares of 90% chocolate- meant to stick to one with my cup of tea but somehow went back to the cupboard......
Dinner Cajun spiced chicken with salad and a lc blondie with cream.

Brunch - slc porridge overloaded with greek yoghurt & berries. @DJC3 Yes it was the semi skimmed milk that spiked me before - I have been making it with coconut milk and hardly any rise at all

Dinner - h/m lc lasagne. 2 slices slc bread toasted and smothered with garlic butter. 1 no added sugar shortbread finger (9.4 carbs) from Boots - was shortdated and cheap so I bought a packet - tastes like the real thing but is a bit higher in carbs than I would like so I won't buy again but enjoying it at the moment. Mug of earl grey tea

I was going to buy it but when I went to check out the message said it would delay my order for about 5 days. I removed it as the bread situation was getting desperate. Glad I did!

Glad you got to the bottom of it so you don’t have to waste the rest of the porridge. I’d imagine the coconut milk would give a better flavour too?

Evening all. Welcome @coby It’s good to have you here. This thread is great for picking up meal ideas and also I find, for keeping me accountable to myself. Even if I don’t have time to join in the chat just posting my food makes me think twice about what I’m eating.
Today starting the DD reset meal plan again
B- Fried eggs, Gouda and wilted spinach.
L- Roast beef and no-tato salad. I love this simple meal.
D- chicken caprese casserole. Then Sf jelly which wasn’t in the plan.
@maglil55 so glad your legs are better today.
@Annb I’ve never known anyone eat a bell pepper like an apple. Good for Em, I hope you can keep up a supply of them for her.

@jape is not the only one enjoying pictures, I love them as well!
Especially when they look as good as yours. :hungry:

I still had boeuf/sauerkraut but not enough for two days and too much for one day.
So I had half, with half a rookworst (Dutch smoked sausage) from the freezer. Rookworst traditionally goes with 'stamppot zuurkool' (yes, in a few years you'll be able to order all kinds of Dutch dishes if you follow this thread! Zuurkoolstamppot is sauerkraut mixed with mashed potatoes.) so I figured it'd go well with my sauerkraut dish as well. :)
Will have the same tomorrow obviously.

Good thing I had already prepared my food, as I got a phonecall from my best friend (the one with the non-diabetic gastroparesis) at around dinner time.
She had an MRI last week to see if she had any gallstones left in her bile ducts after getting her gall bladder removed.
She logged in to her hospital account to see if there were any results, not expecting much because she hasn't had that sharp pain in the last 3 weeks.

Apart from the stones in her ducts it said a possible Cave Klatskin tumor needs to be investigated.
Sometimes access to your records isn't such a good thing, and this is one of those times.
We have no idea if this means something looks a little odd and they only want to rule this out, or if this very much looks like one of those tumors and she's basically ******.

She also has a husband with a burn-out and a mainly health-centered anxiety, which has come out in all its glory thanks to the pandemic. So she hasn't told him because she doesn't know anything yet.
She'll see her specialist for her gastroparesis on wednesday (on a different matter) so hopefully he can shed some preliminary light on her results.

I'll now stop procrastinating, which I have done for the past few hours and have a look at the tabs I've opened on this Cave Klatskin thing.
I'm pretty scared.

Now I am more confused. :bag:What is the parallel chat thread for?
Brunch today: Fage yogurt, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, black coffee (2cups)
Mid afternoon: Out walking, lovely bright sunny day, had 2 trebor sugar free lemon drops. A decaff black coffee at home, later.
Dinner: soup made from left over lamb and veg from last night. I hate waste, and have to say it was rather delicious. Not sure I could recreate the seasoning mix though. Low sugar tonic water.

Today I followed @DJC3 onto the DD 2 week reset. Bed 6.9 FBG 7.2. The BGs only had a short lived foray into the 8's today and have been a lot better the rest of the day. I've even stayed off the gin!

B. An odd breakfast for me due to the reset a bit later.- TAG for now.
Brunch - 11.30 1 oz of Cheddar, wilted spinach and 3 fried eggs. It was surprisingly tasty.
L. It wasn't really lunch. I wasn't too hungry after the late "brunch" so much later I had an amended something. DD does tend to have too much food daily. I reduced it to 2 slices of wafer thin beef wrapped around M&S whipped cheese.
D. Changed it again. Had the DD baked cod Caprese with the remains of my cauli mash from yesterday. Cod was baked with pesto, mozzarella and tomato.

I have resisted alcohol, berries & chocolate!

Now I am more confused. :bag:What is the parallel chat thread for?
It's for chat without food involved which either is continuing something started here, or just something we want to share not relating to anything on this thread.
It's close to impossible to say when something is too much chat for this thread, but since the parallel thread has started, much less derailing to the point of moderating has taken place here.

A good example of a post which would have been better placed in the parallel thread is the second half of my previous post, right before your post.
I put it here because it all came out rather unplanned, it should have been a single sentence but it wanted out.
I've left it, because it's so big a fear, and I needed to share. Can't share with anyone else because it's still a 'nothing' and nobody knows but her and me.
Typical case of being a member first and a mod second.

(Won't object if my colleagues move half my post there though! Don't want to do it myself, feels like some superstitious bad luck :bag:)

I added the bit about Em, which was quite lengthy, because I am trying to get her to accept that with so many members of her family being diabetic, she is at risk and has to be aware of what she's eating from now on - she's already big for her age and a lot of it is (whisper it) f.a.t!

I actually think that something like you are currently so worried about is right to be shared here. I hope you and your friend get the right answers and dianosis / treatment as soon as possible.

Big hugs for @Antje77 and her friend

B: lidls creamy greek yoghurt (the one with 25% cream) that had been soaking chia seeds overnight so was very thick indeed

Exercise class followed by coffee with girlfriends

L: prawns. Coleslaw and lettuce and mayo. Some St agur blue cheese on M&s seedy crackers (yes I found some in Canary Wharf in London, but at £1.90 a pack!) Then remembered I had some soda bread I made yesterday that wouldn't fit in the freezer so had a slice of that too.

Had a report to write that then led to another problem then another one then another, so somehow munched through 60g of some 70% raspberry dark choc while typing furiously as had a deadline.

D: leftover cabbage mixed with leftover pork with leftover fondue with left over cream cheese. Surprisingly tasty

Then found as hubby had been left to his own devices while I worked, that he had cooked custards tarts Portuguese style from his Christmas cook book. Riddled with sugar and then coverd in sugar syrup!!! But he looked so pleased with himself that I had a bite of one and a tablespoon of the leftover custard filling. Within 20 minutes I could feel the sugar coursing through my body. Tried to mitigate it a bit with some plain greek yoghurt. Luckily (or not!) I'm not starting my libre until tomorrow.

Then out to the meeting I'd done the reports for, went well but has been stressful lead up so celebrated witha brandy and soda and some blue cheese on the bread I finally remembered

So, sugar, stress, alcohol and late night eating all in one day. Maybe I'll delay starting the Libre...

Breakfast; raw gorilla l/c granola, one slice carbzone rye bread with butter
mocha
Lunch: scrambled egg, serrano and a slice of carbzone, protein bar
Dinner: goulash followed by raspberries and double cream.
One square of 90% lindt so far,... hungry after long walk and lots of housework!!

second day of intermittent fasting, decided it's more a case of mind over matter than hunger!

above should take into account another piece of lindt and a DGF mince pie I found in freezer. Also, spotted some SLC not cross buns in there I'd forgotten about, maybe tomorrow?
