What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A truly awful 6.1 on Swipey but a spectacular night's sleep. Experimented with a pasta bake using allegedly 2.1% carb pasta. Tasted divine darling, divine. Highest +2 hrs level for nearly 7 years and stayed high for hrs. I know from experience I sleep like a log with more carbs on board so just wish I had eaten that to deliberately sleep well. Gym, OMAD - salmon salad :woot: and baby grandson:woot::woot::woot: today - get the balance right son. Go Team D.

Oh and I was going to order some of that low carb pasta. Salmon salad and a baby grandson - sounds like a very high protein meal :)

Fbg 6.3

The barking driveway alert alarm was installed in another part of the garden last night. My app tells me of dog barking in the night. My garden is intact this this morning...

Shadow came at 6 am for her breakfast, and the rest of the stray cats wait in an orderly queue in the undergrowth. Yes, weirdly they take turns, no fighting. They are not friends with each other as such, but they tolerate each other from a distance. I can touch/stroke 3 of them.

Today's creative is my little female bluetit.
Kaleidoscope.in Laboscope app. My sweet little female bluetit, who flies with the sparrows...
I might try and sketch something today...
Tea and coffee mugs are empty. I need more...

Have another cuppa!

Morening all, again no time to sit and stare or stand for that matter sorry.
A 7.2 this morning.
No motorcycling today, unfortunately people to meet, places to go and finally things to do.
Stay safe all.

My grandson is remarkably hench (and precious) , it is a Friday and Ember Day so salmon will suffice. As for the pasta: yesterday my bg levels were off; I ate 2 portions (125 gms uncooked weight in total) - because I could and wanted to very, very much; the sauce was very heavily tomato based passata and chopped toms - neither were from W......:arghh: Good result for you on the decking and kitchen fitting. Thanks for the art. @gennepher thanks for another splendid kaleidoscope. Nursery run (big sister of Butch) over here so Assam to the max. Carry on living the dream folks.

After the large (or more accurate - very large) lump of cheese I also had an exceptionally good night's sleep last night.

The pasta was exceptionally low carb so it is strange that it raised your BS. Good though that it was delicious.

Good news on the sleep. I think the combination of two portions, too much (non W) tomato and strangely high bg - 5.9 before meal is a good 1-1.5 above trend- made the experiment invalid. Another day would probably give a very different response. Others may not respond in the same way.

It is so lovely that you are looking after the cats and great that the barking driveway alarm is keeping foxy loxy away.

Beautiful bluetit kaleidoscope and with Popeye taking centre stage. Glad to hear that the barking alarm seems to be doing the trick.

The attached little snippet somehow evaded the mainstream news and probably explains why the message coming out is donate to charity. I'll link the whole article and some explanation for you all to discuss in break out groups. OFSTED do so love group work and they probably even inspect this forum.

Good Aternoon Everyone
Late posting today been out all day looking at shrubs yucca and small trees for front garden makeover just got home just about got home before heavy showers at this moment.
BG this morning was 6.2
But I’m having trouble with BG dropping rapidly whilst we are walking around, they are happening on a regularly basis over last couple of weeks, I suspect it’s because I only have yogurt and berries for breakfast and at 6.2 this morning it soon drops to the 4 mmol that’s when the dizzy spells abs disorientation starts. But garden centre have good restaurants in them so no bother getting something to eat. But I think I need to start taking something with me or contact our doctors to come off the one tablet a day of Gliclizide they put me on recently, I don’t think I really needed it in first place has my BG was never above 7/8 mmol even the senior doctor asked who had given me Gliclizide has he was complimenting me on great BG control. Time I came off then will call to enquire this afternoon. K

You need to start taking something with you when you go out @Granny_grump_
I always take glucose tablets with me when I go out and a small snack, maybe a babybel cheese.
I don't know what others take with them.

Aww ..not nice GG.

I'm not on glics or anything

So just my personal experience with LCHF/T2D/BG.

I normally run around 5-6 early morning and after the 2 hour mark.

For me yoghurt + berries did me fine up until next meal circa 6am - 1pm when at work though could be later if I didn't feel hungry or the need

All well and good but what I did find, was if I dipped below 5...I always felt very 'off'.

(Usually happens if I try fasting for longer then the normal 12-16 hours or I've not eaten enough previous meal .)

You know that feeling when perhaps a cold or flu is on the way ..(and for me more a warning asthma was about to play up )

So your feelings I think matches mine.

A word with your doctor should go a long way to sorting out that 'yuk' feeling .

But we are all different how we respond
While I envy the ones happy at 4+.. it's just not a nice level for me to be at.

I'd second @gennepher babybels..

11.03..
7.35am FBG 5.6
8.45am FBG 5.1
Surprisingly low FBG this morning as had late dinner (after 9pm) steak with chips and peas last night. Followed by a very sweet and carby coffee religiouse.
Made nut granola, but added 100g of porridge oats this time. Will make a portion about 10g carbs if i have fruit as well. Dashed off to French lesson this morning, then lunch with the friends who were hosting.
Too wet to get out in the garden, so got on with clearing the second spare room. All the stuff out of the motorhome had been shoved in there and ignored. Relocated nearly all of it appropriately .
Now have a pile of boxes ready to go in the loft tomorrow. Mostly curtains and children's toys and games. Sadly we are not expecting to see our grandchildren anytime soon. There is a smattering of Christmas stuff. When we get up there it will be interesting to see if the roof has retained its integrity after a second visit from the roofer. Its the first real rain we have had since then.

Sneaky midnight snack of cheese, no noticeable effect.
Happy Saturday all, remember the stays.
