@karen8967 thanks for the meme. As it is Super Salmon Salad Friday - after the gym but pre-Comic relief - and it will be sunny, if a tad chilly for me, Alexa may will be asked for some Elbow - holy cow I love your eyes (what is that all about?). @dunelm belated happy birthday for the Ninky Nonks and thanks for the art. That piece evokes ideas of Mordor (as per LOTR not the ludicrous affectation some use for London) in me but I'm a (very?) rum cove. @gennepher good news on the return of Shadow and after some thought I have come to like that kaleidoscope. @Krystyna23040 good news on the liver and pancreas sorting things out themselves. I seem to be snacking on cheese lately which I can't see as a good thing. @jjraak I have forgotten to say well done on your cooking skills and wish you well with the recovery. @SlimLizzy good news on the extra sleep working. I implore you all to stay safe and be as loving as you can. Me? I’m mad as a box of frogs.

I do eat some cheese every day as it is nutritious but I do limit it and don't eat that much. Eating more was good though (and very tasty when eaten with nuts) when my blood sugars kept going low. Have no idea why it helped as I do not have access to a super computer that might be able to work out what on earth was going on with my liver and pancreas to keep taking my BS really low.

Blood sugars usually start running a bit high after I have these low blood sugar episodes. Perhaps my pancreas is worn out after these episodes and needs a rest. Who knows.

Very oddly I almost never eat nuts in the UK - except for one memorable/idyllic Autumn back in The Old Country. On holiday (in Cyprus anyhow) I tend to have cheese and nuts every evening. Considering the desserts - all very bite sized just to lull me into thinking, well can't be many carbs there - I was very Saintly. If you think cheese is nutritious and can't work out what is going on with this lifestyle I'm feeling (marginally) better about being clueless and eating cheese. Thanks - still not sure about nuts. Just seems so very "continental" and they do some very "odd" things in the afternoon:D

You don't have to like all the kaleidoscopes I do!

As for liking all your kaleidoscopes, I know I don't have to but I had a deprived childhood and was never allowed a kaleidoscope :angelic:
Awww!
I spent hours looking through kaleidoscopes. And also through triangular crystal prisms my father had. Why he had those, I have no idea @ianpspurs
I loved 'making' these rainbows everywhere with the triangular prisms.

Thank you @ianpspurs and a smashing video to accompany a good song. Mordor - has to be spoken in an outrageous Scottish accent to bring it alive (or dead).

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully red and blue striped morning across the sea here in the dark and dangerous north. Full moon rising last night above a clear water revival according to that song they nicked to make a comedy film about werwolves. Anyhow, should be a nice day today - not so much for ducks and other water birds. Mrs Miggins and two of her sisters are off to Turkey this morning for a bit of sunshine, lounging about and some nattering. Gossip Calypso. Wood burner now installed and brother in law coming round to hopefully finish the decking - and on, and on, and on. Don’t forget to air your bathers for tomorrow the sun crosses the celestial equator, day and night will be of approximately equal length and you can sing that song about the Walrus and the Carpenter. What am I blathering on about?
Anyhow, art bit. I did this over a week ago and for the life of me I can’t remember what was going on in my head. Ah yes - water. Have a wonderful day if you can. I must get back to my koffy before it goes cold.

Fbg Still taking a sabbatical from the vampire blood letting...

Yesterday I was waiting by the front all day for some parcels. On a sunny day, I would have been sitting in the front garden drinking a cuppa, waiting for the parcels. But since that horrid neighbour cut into my front garden as well by the wall, it has exposed where I sit on the bench. So, no privacy any more there. My evergreens there have not grown back yet. I was hoping he would have extended that Fort Knox Fence to that bit, but he didn't. I am in the process of growing an inner wall, 2 metres inwards, of Buddleia, but it is still growing...

So I sat in the kitchen doorway earlier on, and the stray cats got a surprise. It seems they are coming in and out that side of my bungalow now. Much safer. There is a high wall on that side, and there is my metal gate which I keep shut. One came in the kitchen for food. So I fed her there.

Midday, parcels still not arrived. Sun had moved, as it is wont to do during the day. So, I went to the front window, opened that to hear a van coming in, but alas Mr Duracell was working non stop, in and out with the sand and long pieces of wood. Then surprise surprise, another delivery of sand and long pieces of wood. And the crane lifting them all off into his driveway, and front garden. Then Mr Duracell was in and out with a wheelbarrow of sand, and carrying several lengths of that heavy wood. He is not human. He can't be.

Then guess what? Yet another huge lorry came in with more sand, lots more of those huge one ton yellow bags. And more long pieces of wood. He had better not be building a viewing platform in his back garden. I might have to take up archery again, and learn how to fire 'flaming' arrows...

Still no parcels. I fired off an email to one firm before close of business, they hadn't responded to my mid week request about when I may expect delivery of my precious goods. So this email upped the ante. I had spent weeks searching for this item and I was getting very anxious.

The other parcel was from eBay. I had paid for Royal Mail postage, and this was a week ago on Friday. But then the delivery info shifted to something called Evri. What the heck is this? Googled. Evri is the new name for Hermes, and they are now going to deliver a fantastic new service now. Well, this is the first time Hermes have let me down in all these years. What a stupid name. If the parcel doesn't come today, I will be on to the seller, because I did initially pay for Royal Mail 48 hr, I will be asking for a refund because of non delivery. I did not agree to Hermes/Evri delivery.

That is my rant over...for the moment...

Creative...my apron in a kaleidoscope, fartnarkled a bit.

Shadow was first in the queue this morning at daybreak. She was sitting on the swing waiting. She let me stroke her head easily today, but not the rest of her. Shadow fed and left, and Mr&Mrs Blackbird were next in the queue for the cat bowl of dry cat biscuits. Next in the queue was Calico. It has taken me awhile training her that you do not catch birds in my garden (using that dog bark driveway alert alarm, again, each time she as much as looked as a bird). She waited her turn....gennepher's cat diner is in full swing this morning....

Sorry all, no time, coupled with oversleeping, didn’t wake till 8:11am, all plans now shot to piece’s, nevertheless onwards and upwards.
Bloods yesterday something or other and today a mind boggling 9.2 twice on different fingers, sliderule, teabag mug and guesstimate finger held up in the wind to calculate insulin dosage. Calculation made.
Must move on now things to do, places to go and mischief to cause.

Good morning all on what I'm led to understand is one of two St Joseph's days. A feast implies meat but in Lent and not a Sunday- tricky stuff. It is Sunny, honey, here but my old bones feel the chill too much for Sunny Hunny . Anyhow, there are much pertier parts of that stretch of N Norfolk. New Swipey awaits installation - you can’t rush these things.:D Yesterday’s gym session and salmon were oh so very much on point - not often Elsie shows up so, good girl. Gym, grandchildren - how relaxing is giving a grandson a bottle he drains in one? - and amazing Salmon Salad with crafty sides of cricket watching and 750 mls Assam. Truly blessed - heaven in the ordinairie.:woot: Safe journey to Norwich and back @Krystyna23040 - will you be home to help Mr K watch the rugby? @dunelm tight schedule for your works but it seems that all is on target. Enjoy the freedom whilst your carer is away - she needs her respite I would imagine.:angelic: Thanks for the art as always. @gennepher wonderful detailed account of your life and times - exhausting to read so goodness knows what it is like to live through. Thanks for the kaleidoscope. I was so deprived as a child I also didn't have a mobile phone, iPad, flat screen in my bedroom or skiing holidays to name but a few things - can you believe that? My grandmother had kaleidoscopes for her grandchildren and she lived about 5 minutes walk away. My grandparents had real problems hearing my dad saying Ian can't have:D Do stay safe and live your best life (what does that even mean?) @dunelm is this the chune you meant?

It is exhausting to live through...

Those things weren't around when we were little @ianpspurs
I played/roamed in the countryside with my dog.
There was no electricity at the farm. No running water. The well or the pump was for water. Tin baths and I refused to have a bath if I wasn't first. I was not going in anyone else's dirty bathwater...just a bit of hot water was added for each new person...and toilet facilities were in a wee brick built outhouse at the bottom of the apple orchard with a big hole and a little hole (for a little bottom) on the wooden board, and the pigs cleared up down below...
Just something to think about when you have your bacon in a morning...
Bye...
I am off on parcel watch again this morning...

Good Morning Everyone BG this morning was 6.4 .
Anther busy day ahead but one I’m truly looking forward to, we are looking after our great grandson and the dog so his parents can have a bit of time together doing things they don’t get time to do today they are going out for a meal.
We will take dog and 2 years old out for a walk in the park then leave the dog at home so we can take toddler off to supermarket where we all can have some lunch. Hopefully
We are L plate toddler feeders and nappy changers but I’m sure we will get through it marvellously too many years have passed since we last had a toddler to look after, perhaps it’s like riding a bike once learned you never forget. Will let you know tomorrow how we managed.
Weather looks lovely a bit of a breeze so I hope you all have a lovely day ahead of you, and@gennepher so very glad shadow came back I knew he would what animal could resist a free meal or two. Wishing you well and forget your horrible neighbour and grow your shrubs high to blot him out. K

Interesting early life which helps explain your amazing resilience, for me anyhow. Bacon for breakfast? Once upon a time but Elsie has killed that off which, I think, is probably good. Not sure about that definition of LYBL - duty and care are definitely part of your life but I guess they are covered by happy and smile. Very unsure about mischief but each to their own. As for the things which weren't around back in the day, had they have been I am absolutely certain my parents or grandparents would have provided. Hope your parcel arrives soon.

It’s all going in your garden, despite the efforts of Mr Duracell. I hope that by changing it’s name that Hermes/Evri does a bit better than 2nd bottom in the league of delivery companies - winged messengers of the god’s don’t usually lose stuff or deliver their messages to a house in an adjacent street. Lovely kaleidoscope - wonder what you could make with stray cats round the diner table.
