What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.5

Hi
Tip: Housewife's best friend...you know that can of air with straw in to blow between keyboard keys? Take straw out. Now spray window ledges, ornaments, shelves, and the dust goes flying away. Housework is now a breeze...
Bye...

Creative is Laboscope pointed at my water bottle...

No time for coffee.

Such an interesting water bottle. Good cleaning tip. You could of course get one of these. Reduces waste, saves the planet, doubles up as an exercise machine for arthritic hands and the grandchildren can play water fights.

According to aunty, the new Grand Poobah is still far from obvious, wherever that is. Nassa has a big telescope, that may help. Or ask Russel Grant and Mystic Meg..

I think what they're looking for they'll find in the Constellation of Integrity.

Completed obscured to the current intake, sadly
By al the chaff & fudge of the giant imploding Nova star, Johnsonia..:sorry:

Sad to see the binary stars of Grift & Deceit being swallowed up in its wake, but if it's what it takes to cleanse the stain on all of us, so be it .

Nice tree .but why no ostriches ;):bag:

Best wishes to Mrs Miggins for the eye test.

Morning all on another sunny Suffolk day: shorts, salad, no socks. Rinse and repeat:singing: Thanks for the kaleidoscope and housework tip @gennepher. @dunelm I hope the eye test and breakfast go well but please play nice. Thanks for the art. Early morning here with our two dogs, son, his dog and two grandchildren. Miles of wide open fen and silence.:woot: Kenny Hill ? Altitude training for dogs and humans.- see attached. Stay well, stay safe, stay hydrated and definitely don't stay away from The Meedja. How else would anyone learn such things as the other attachment? Today’s thought for the day. Toddles Peeps.

Sound an elbow day...:D

Good song choice ..liked :)

5.4 this morning. The house alarm system repaired this morning. It was malfunctioning yesterday.
Today a more relaxing day. Have done a Suduko and 3 Mah Jongs and must now do some admin.

I couldn't post this morning. I think the site must have been down.

Good morning campers. :D My fbs this morning was 11.3. It is 10 weeks since I stopped taking the statins which elevated my daily levels to between 12.1 to 21.1 and my HbA1c to 76 but my fbs remain between 10+ to 13+. It's a mystery! I have sent my fbs results to a GP following a telephone appointmentI with her a while ago and was expecting a response from her but instead this was followed up by a phone call with the Pharmacologist who was supposed to do a medication review. All she did was ask me to monitor my blood pressures 4x/ day for a week and to refer me back for an appointment with a Practice nurse to discuss my diabetes. (My blood pressures have all been in the normal range as I expected). I have a face to face appointment with a practice nurse this afternoon so hopefully she will give me some positive advice. The saga continues! I have never been anxious about my diabetes before but am now concerned that damage is being caused by the ongoing high levels, especially as I have non alcoholic fatty liver disease. Sorry to be so self indulgent but needed to tell someone who understood. Thanks for reading. I wish you all well. Stay well and cool. Best wishes.:)

Morening again. I posted earlier, but no post appeared hey ho.

Bloods this morning were 4.3,
Bye for now.

That is worrying @dogslife. What are your blood sugars like after you have eaten?

Whilst it is always good to hear from you the contents of the post are troubling. I hope something can be arranged to deal with the elevated fbg and A1c. Certainly not remotely self absorbed just describing how the NHS is drowning in the perfect storm created by - select a set of variables you feel appropriate. Let us know how things go as I'm certain everyone else will agree, we care. If it is all the same to you staying cool isn't my plan.:D

Hello if you don’t mind me asking a couple of questions?
Question 1 are you keeping a food diary?
Question 2 are your medications affecting your blood sugar levels?
These questions are not to be answered on the forum, but something to think about. Please read my notes on my profile, my medications play havoc with my blood sugars.
Don’t give up.

Morning all from a sunny but not so scorchio Suffolk. No posh - I prefer boutique:angelic: - dog walk today just their care and prep for two grandchildren first thing. Later, a young lady trying out a morning at school before deciding if they are up to the job full time. Very wise for her years that one (Her cousin has decided to reject Southampton's “finest” in favour of the more aspirational Winchester). Yesterday was good and fitbit, oximeter and self-harming parts approved but I'm minded to keep good old Heraclitus fully in mind: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.” Thanks for the art and crafty mensh @dunelm. I hope the physio visit goes well. @gennepher yesterday sounds wo-dr-ful and thank for the kaleidoscope which I found am-aze-zing. Stay alert, the NME is prowling about, slip, slap, slop and hydrate because this is just the preamble. Blue team just a bunch of drop outs lately. Will The Penny Drop? Will Lizzy be busy? Is Rishi rich enough? How many carbs in popcorn? Yes Johnny

Hi guys,
An interesting assessment from States on Zoe re: Keto. Viewed as not sustainable and it doesn't support the human biome.
ATB.

I posted this morning

Good day yesterday with son and daughter
Daughter back here now
Midnight clapped eyes on her...does the slow eye blink. Hey nice person he says, stroke me....
Daughter is now his new best friend...

Creative is a very large tomato on my food plate cut like a flower, but it still looked like a big clumsy tomato. So took photo in Laboscope. Now it looks like a flower...

Have a good day

Cuppa next...

Thank you@alf-Josiah. I've raised the issue of my other medications with a nurse at the GP's surgery. She has passed all the details of my medication regime/concerns to the on call doctor along with all the home test results I've provided for them over the past few weeks. I've had a response saying they will bring my next HbA1c test forward slightly and if that hasn't improved compared to my last raised one they will consider changing my medication. I haven't kept a food diary recently as my low carb diet hasn't changed but I may do that. Thanks again for bothering to reply. Much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply@Krystyna23040. I don't test after every meal anymore as my diet hasn't changed for some time and I take Gliclizide with breakfast and evening meal as well as Metformin. My levels usually drop before lunch to around 9. I only have a small salad for lunch without carbs but my levels creep up again by bedtime. ( I do have a snack sometimes at around 8pm as we eat our evening meal around 6pm). I'm convinced the statins elevated my levels. The advice from my GP today is to make an appointment for my next HbA1c at the end of this month to give my body enough time to recover from the stains then review my medication if necessary. Thanks again for your reply.

Thank you for your reply@ianpspurs. I had a good face to face appointment this afternoon with a Practice nurse. She listened to my concerns and took notice of all the data I had provided in response to requests a) from the doctor I had spoken to on 18/5 and b) the Practice Pharmacist on 5/7. She couldn't understand why the doctor that I delivered my information to hadn't got back to me herself after commenting that due to my raised levels I needed a medication review. (It was the receptionist that made the appointment with the pharmacist as she was the person who carried out medication reviews. In retrospect I think that was a misunderstanding as the pharacist didn't address my diabetes. Instead she asked me to test/ record my blood pressures 4x/ day. When I questioned this she arranged for me to discuss things with a nurse). The nurse I saw today explained that, as a precaution they usually wait for 2 high HbA1c results before increasing medication. She sent a message with all my handwritten info to the on- call doctor for further advice. I had a call shortly afterwards to say he'd advised me to make an appointment for a slightly earlier HbA1c test at the end of this month. If it is still high they will adjust my medication. That gives my body an extra 2 weeks since stopping the statins on 5/5. At least now I have a plan of action instead of feeling like a ping pong ball passed from, nurse to a doctor, to a pharmacist, to another nurse and back to a doctor. Oh dear! Here I go rambling on again! Sorry!:sorry: Enjoy this hot sunny weather while it lasts. :) Best wishes.

Hi @dogslife

I like to think once we get over the scores on the doors and the enjoyable daily chit chat, the very essence of the site, & this thread in particular is for just such a purpose .

Talking it out to others who might understand, very underrated & extremely cathartic .

So sorry to hear how poorly you have been treated and of course that leading on to making you worrying so much.:sorry:

Not acceptable.:banghead:

Good to hear a later post, that You may be getting much needed help .:)

Hope the tide turns and results begin to show better numbers & control for you.

Take care x
