What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Not much appetite again so grazed on low carb stuff thus:
Brunch 3 raspberries and a spoonful of full fat greek yogurt, iced coffee.
Dinner: tuna and coleslaw in a lettuce leaf
Supper: sliceof ham, broccoli and a teaspoonfulmof cream cheese.
Drank iced coffee throughout the day, and plentynof water.

Monday 18 July - bed 7.8 FBG 7.6. This was one hot and humid day. Chiropodist first thing but at least it was coolish then.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with pate.

L. Nothing.

D. Vodka and diet coke with loads of ice.
Salad with ham, bit chicken with coronation sauce and ox tongue. Avocado, santini tomatoes, coleslaw, boiled egg, beetroot (from our garden) and pancetta crisps. I couldn't finish it.

2 strawberries with yet more iced water. Sleeping was rather difficult last night.20220718_180756.jpg

The gumbo - which I actually finished off, it was so good, is the one without rice. The one with rice is jambalaya. I always get those mixed up. I had put in a bit too much jalapeno so it made my mouth tingle for a while afterwards but it was very tasty.

Bacon and two well done eggs, two sices toast and vegimite for breakfast
Early smoko at MacDoo, hamburger for herself and chicken pie from the Hungry Tum for me.
MRE Curried sausages and vegetables, partner having the hosptal salad on my recomendations for lunch.
Toasted ham and cheeese sandwiches for supper at six.

Partner hd two sessions of physio yesterday, she was given a nice walking stick to help her get about a bit till she get the specia boot they are going to put on today

B: couple cups of black, iced coffee.

L: salad composed of avocado, long cuke, hardboiled egg, half bottle of kalmata olives, green onions, chicken (from leftover drum sticks), blue cheese, and asparagus with EVOO and cider vinegar dressing.

D: same salad as lunch and about 4oz. of blueberries (w/o anything else).

@Goonergal , I'm a bit worried.
I haven't seen your pretty fishy plates in ages (not that there is anything wrong with your other plates of course), please tell me you haven't broken them all right when our long postponed visit is looming on the horizon again?
Or is it just you aren't using them anymore to make sure you don't break it and I can bring one of the promised plates back to the Netherlands?

:hilarious::hilarious:

They are all safe and sound. Just been to gather photographic evidence! Here’s the 2 clean ones and the third is bottom of the pile of dishes waiting to be done!

Morning all. At the moment it's much cooler, hope it continues. Yesterday I had a Portobello mushroom with 2 fried eggs and a buttered slice of 50/50 bread. Then ham and small amount of pickle on 2 buttered Ryvitas. Today I will have the same because this hot weather drains all my energy and I'm good for nothing. It's not a perfect diet but my levels are coming down. I like the idea of tuna mayo (I haven't any coleslaw) on a lettuce leaf, might just summon up the energy for that! Gosh, I sound like a wimp!

For breakfast I used one of my last 4 precious eggs and had it with black pudding and bacon.

Neil is taking me for an appointment in town at noon so I am hoping he will go to the shop and get me some more eggs, if he can.

The main meal today will be fried cauliflower florets in a peanut sauce. Saw the recipe online somewhere and fancy the idea of trying it. Should be fairly simple.

Nothing to report over last week as ate barely anything due to my first ever bout of Covid which has had many wierd symptoms, which kept changing, but my complete lack of hunger has only just started to lift today! Other consistent symptom was stomach distress so have been sticking to water and rehydration sachets. Think it is over its worst - certainly if fasting bloods tell a story my normal bloods are 4.9 - 5.4 in am and shot up to 7.9 last week on morning after husband developed bad hay fever - or so we thought - tests revealed otherwise. We test regularly because of our caring roles. BGs stayed in 7s despite my long fast but dropped to 4.4 this morning and I am feeling more normal with a few hunger twinges - still positive testing though.Think that OH picked it up at his annual check at his GPs - as this was the only indoors contact he had over those few pre covid days. He had bloods and bp taken etc although wearing masks we can't imagine where else - as no social events etc recently. It has made caring more complex than normal. Although luckily we had some respite care booked to cover a break just didn't want to use it this way!!
First meal today about 2.30 when some hunger pangs at last - very small salad and some cheese with a couple of nuts and one square of 100 percent chocolate plus few spoons of hm yoghurt
2nd meal planned later - provided hungry enough - a 100 percent beef burger with a bit of salad, don't think that I would be able to fit anything else in my shrunk stomach!
Yesterday was the first wedding anniversary that we were not able to celebrate with a special meal - our 47th one - as just not able to eat! We had been due to have our first few days away together for a while as a break to celebrate and were looking forward to it so much but had to cancel - mind you in the heat it would have probably been difficult anyway! Hoping to plan a celebration at a later date.
Hope everyone well will read back posts later to catch up with any news.

@shelley262 belated happy anniversary by the way. You're just 2 and a bit weeks after us, so only 3 years to Golden. We didn't do anything either as our's collided with all the P7 leavers events.

Thank you for the photographic evidence, I'm much reassured now!
If it's not too much to ask, I'd prefer one of the clean ones. Not sure driving around with a dirty plate in my car for a week is a good idea.
Drug sniffing dogs at customs might tell their co-worker I'll have to unpack the whole car if I do.

Today I had a 'runderbraadworst', beef sausage, not the same as a German bratwurst, with fried onion and sauerkraut, and runner beans with cream cheese an a couple of rashers of thin bacon rashers. :hungry:
Is it just me or have they lowered the salt content of bacon?

No breakfast.
Dog walk, in the mist and light rain!!! What heatwave?lol
L: salad with chicken and camembert. Ff greek yog topped with double cream. 1 small peach
D out at a restaurant. Plaice in a very tasty tarragon sauce. Asked for the chips to be swapped for salad instead. Was miffed to be charged extra for the salad and given no reduction for not having the chips. Cheese board where I gave crackers, grapes and honey to hubby. 1 glass white topped up with loads of water
I do get annoyed it costs more to be diabetic when eating out

1030hrs chia seed pudding with strawberry, nuts and greek yogart
1330hrs tuna and cold meats salad
1730hrs chicken breasts done in oven dish with cream, chorizo ,stock ,heavy cream and sundried tomatoes and steamed veg
7 walnuts as a treat afterwards

@Antje77 Thanks for the laugh again.
Busy day for me, lots of unexpected journeys so food was erratic. 13:30 1/2 SLC roll with cream cheese and smoked salmon. The rest of it an hour or so later followed by a DGF cake. Major error. If I have ‘bread’ and ‘cake’ in the same meal I always get a spike.
7pm Unplanned babysitting, had to forage in daughters fridge for dinner. Bit of sad salad, couple of slices Serrano ham. Sf jelly and cream and then because I couldn’t resist it, a slice of granddaughters crispy apple. It was delicious.
Back home, glass of wine.
@shelley262 hugs for covid and missing your anniversary meal. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Don't they realise doing just a little bit extra might give them a new regular customer and with luck, have them tell their friends as well?
Their loss I'd say.

Bacon and eggs, two slices of toast for breakfast.
Cornded siversides and pickle sandwhicj for smoko at the hospital as I only took a couple of packets of Tim Tam's up.
MRE cottage pie for lunch.
Toasted cheese and onion sandwiches for supper atsix.

Partners getting around pretty good wth her new boot on, she's got another session with the physio today. She might be discharged tomorrow with a bit of luck acccording to her team.

When that’s happened to me I ask them to remove the charge from the bill, unless the replacement item I had was more expensive than the carby item I didn’t have. I’ve not been refused yet, so it’s worth being assertive.
If it's not too much to ask, I'd prefer one of the clean ones.
:hilarious: Hopefully they’ll all be clean soon or I’ll have visitors in the kitchen.

@shelley262 sorry to hear about the Covid. Take it easy as you recover.

No pics today, but it was another OMAD. Cutting all the ‘distractions’ (dairy, nuts, dark choc) out has done wonders for curbing my appetite. Hopefully back into the carnivore sweet spot. The one meal was the remains of the pork belly slices chopped into small pieces and air fried. Yum.

And @Antje77 yes, I think salt has been reduced in bacon.

The same happened to me a couple of weeks ago at a good pub over Sunday lunch. I asked them to serve my roast with green veg (which was on their Sides anyway) and because I didnt have the veg that came with it (carrot, parsnip, red cabbage) they charged extra though I didnt have roastie or Yorkie. OH didnt want to challenge bill and I left with steam coming out of my ears!
Yesterday and today usual brekkie of slice of LC toast and lots of tea.
Lunch yesterday was slice of turkey, slice of ham, spoon coleslaw, few cherry toms, cucumber followed by 4 strawberries.
Supper was two Green Cuisine plant burgers topped with portobello mushrooms.
Lunch today will be the same more or less using whats open in fridge.
Supper will be return to Chunky cod fingers and green veg aka Fish Finger Firsday!
@shelley262 sorry you had bad Covid. I was exactly the same re appetite and didnt eat for 5 days and had strange taste, reminded me of early pregnancy and thats quite some time ago! Hope you are on the mend and can celebrate your anniversary.
