What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

How very sad. Obviously losing your home and belongings is devastating enough but replaceable. The photos and memorabilia are irreplaceable.
It would be so horrible to lose everything. A class member lives in Ashill and she said that 9 houses have been.completely destroyed. Her house is OK and she did her best to direct traffic around the various road blocks. She said it was scary as the fire spread so quickly.

Good morning one and all on a much cooler day here. Thermals or socks not needed so I am fine with that. Thanks for the creatives @dunelm and @gennepher. @gennepher hug for the impact of the hot spell on your garden but wonderful tale of the birds forming new. caring relationships. @dunelm the walk yesterday sounds good so I assume the back is tame (ish?) for now. @Krystyna23040 very sad tale of the fires but good that the cooler weather makes the early morning dog walk more enjoyable for all concerned. On we go into the unknown/one more step along the world etc. I implore you all to take care: sounds like a proper pompous windbag but well meaning.

Thanks @ianpspurs. Back is manageable once I have taken my morning tramadol and Ibuprofen cocktail as long as brain doesn’t get excited about upping the pace. Fires - spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who was incident control officer in Essex - they sent 10 fire engines to help London Fire Brigade who were really struggling.

I have been watching the birds in my garden more intently since last year @ianpspurs as you know from my writings on them. I am surprised how ongoing it is with the new relationships they are making, forming new ones. And there is the constant of one or other of the pair continuing to stay in the garden. Like Mrs Blackbird who was born in this garden last year, and she ditched her bad choice Mr Blackbird earlier this year, who was literally an evil rogue bird. Her new partner is a gentle sweet male blackbird, completely different temperament to the other evil one, and they both said, literally on their first encounter, "Let's make babies". And they did, in my clematis. He appears a caring father. I could go on and on!

Good national bin day afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Busy old Morening here in Tilehurst Towers blood tests at 7:50 am then home for breakfast and medication then a walk with friends followed by lunch.
.
Blood sugars this morning were 7.4, safe to drive for the blood test, last night I lowered my insulin dose and ate rubbish so I could get to the blood test.
.
Hopefully attached is a picture of the last planter I intend making, this one is for Mrs J, I have 2 more planters to refurbish and pass on, they were my girlfriend number 5’s who unfortunately died about February time and was 90. I made the planters for her and her family let me have them back, pictures to follow in due course.
@gennepher my last planter from new.
Stay safe and stay cool.

Glad blood test went ok. Hope results are good

Smart cookie ;) on the tactics to get to them.:D

Sad, but a nice gesture by your friends family

Hopefully going to a deserving home to be cared for & to delight with a riot of colour and smells. :)

Brilliant @alf_Josiah
They pass inspection...absolutely perfect!
Hope the blood tests give the results you need.
Sounds a good day.

Hi guys,
I have an appointment with the diabetes nurse tomorrow so I hope we don't throw eat well plates at each other.
I'll be telling her my bad reading at the beginning of June was due to the hospital food during my stay in May.
regards
Derek

Good to see you retain your sense of humour Derek. Hope all goes well tomorrow and there are no flying plates, eat well or other.

Nice to be getting a Hedgehog in the garden last few nights at dusk.
The Badgers seem to be keeping their distance with their sett a few hundred yards away in a disused railway cutting. A Brock was marking its territory every night in our garden last year.

Nice one Derek and I hope the visit goes well.

Good morning everyone on a damp start here in the dark and dangerous north - so that’s the garden watered and the car washed.
Grandson came Round yesterday to show us his new cricket bat and then sat in the garden for an hour ‘knocking it in’ using a cricket ball inside a sock. That will keep him occupied for a week. Mrs Miggins has to get up shortly and fetch the girl in the bubble. Her mum usually works from home on a Friday but there’s trouble at mill - big contract to finalise or someone spilt some tea. Art bit - the start of another couple of trees. Hope your day is kind to you. I shall make Mrs Miggins a mug of tea and myself a cafetière of koffy.
