What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a damp, dark and cool edge of Breckland. Basically, it is very, very, dreary me dearies but not for ever by still waters etc. @Krystyna23040 good news on Mr K feeling better. The idea of taking it easy is fundamentally sound but surely he would take one knowing look at the messenger and say, really, from you??? :D @Annb hug for the ongoing control issues and the impact on sleep. @dunelm thanks for another slow, tempting art reveal and don't rush the "lawning" . @gennepher some fierce fangs on Midnight and inter species marriage looks off the agenda. I may not like this trickle down weather and the money markets don't seem to like Trussenomics but fortunately neither of them are the last word - this too shall pass. Super salmon salad day here, plenty of tea, I'm above ground and able to move about by myself, there must be sport to watch so on we go. Look out for your own hidden gems of joy however you believe they were brought into existence but be ever so careful and always mindful of the needs of others.
It most certainly does look off the agenda...
We shall see what transpires...
Salmon and tea sounds good @ianpspurs

Good morning everyone from a wonderfully quiet start here in the dark and dangerous north. Tea has been consumed and koffy is brewing in the cafetière. Yesterday was packing a load of groceries - assorted biscuits, breakfast cereals and dog treats to send to California. There is an English Shop in LA that sells such things but this is a test by a pal of mine who thinks that paying the freight on top of UK prices will be cheaper - only time will tell. Interestingly, the freight charge was marginally more than the price of the goods so prices must be sky high at that English Shop. Will prices suddenly drop there now that Kwasi has rampaged through the money orchard? Art bit - starting to add some detail. Have the best day possible, my koffy is ready.

FBG 9.3 - there was an earlier reading of 8.8, but that was at 1.45 am after about 2 hours sleep. Got up then to take more pills and went back to bed and slept until 7.30. That was the 9.3 reading and that's the one I'm working on. Need to inject soon and then eat something.

Wish I was talented like dunelm.

Hug for the readings. Do you eat anything before you go to bed to give your organs something to play with while you sleep - seems to work for some. Thanks for the art comment - I do it as therapy, it helps to shorten the drop when diving down the rabbit hole when the black dog visits.

A bit much to ship English groceries in the hope it is cheaper than buying in LA!
What have we come to @dunelm
Art bit coming along nicely. Learning a lot from you ...

The Ghost Cat

This cat has never visited at night before. I think it must be a ginger cat, but it looks ghostly. I think Midnight saw it off his premises.

I was awake in the night, so had the light on, and was playing making kaleidoscopes...and watching YouTube vids on people who have cams on their nighttime guests.

Then Midnight came in. He wanted me to go outside with him, so I made a cuppa, wrapped my dressing gown round me, and we are sitting companionably on the swing in the early dark hours. I am making noises, slurping my tea, tapping my feet on the ground, slapping my legs, anything to keep the wild beasts away. I did put my hearing processor on. I hear a twig break here, see a shadow move between the trees, and I can see a pair of eyes looking at me, and I look down on my bare legs and wonder how safe they might be from foxes and badgers. I slap my legs even more. Note to self...put jeans on next time.

An hour and a half I sat out with Midnight. Nothing came up to me...

Midnight was so pleased I was sharing his nighttime vigil. He purred and purred.

I came in, locked up, then checked nothing had crept in through the open door...

This morning, I took a kaleidoscope of my sunflower for my creative...

Got stuff to do.

Cuppa first...

Make it an interesting day...

6.0 this morning. Relaxing and drinking coffee and reading before setting off for classes.

We have been looking at incorrect movement patterns and how they can cause pain. In hindsight maybe I shouldn't have demonstrated these incorrect movement patterns so enthusiastically. My previously injured leg in the RTA is now very very unhappy. How could I be so stupid. The only good thing is that I do know how to sort it out.

I hope you did the appropriate ow and aargh sounds as you demonstrated the incorrect movements @Krystyna23040

Good morning all from a much brighter, weather wise, Breckedge. Today's theme seems to be above and beyond. Joining cats outside in the cold, dark and potentially hazardous garden. Buying and packing provisions for friends in the USA where their greenbacks must surely buy a whole lot more UK goods today after kamakaze Kwazi.. Demonstrating how not to move thereby self harming. Hugs for all concerned and for @Annb on the continual disturbed sleep patterns caused by pain and insulin corrections. Thanks for the kaleidoscope and video @gennepher. Your time spent developing youtube skills has really paid off so I gave that a like. @dunelm that piece is developing splendidly and hug for the therapeutic purpose. JKP, who seems to have reacted badly to the Moderna Bivalent jab, spent most of yesterday in bed after initially planning to be up and about. Fitbit numbers suggest my body has registered something amiss but not that bad. Slow day here today but The Lord hath chastened and corrected (severely in some versions) me but he hath not given me over unto death. (PS 118, v18) so some housework, steps and nursing for me. Hardly above and beyond but if one can't do great things do little things with great love.

A good deed, but as you imply madness.

Akin to some countries trumpeting the fact they had poor trade deals with partners 25k miles away, rather then try for better deals with local neighbours 25 MILES Away .:banghead:

I'm staying stum about pics, until I see the finished piece....
Fingers burned, etc etc  :)

While not ideal, I perhaps understand better how the artwork, in itself could be such a life line .

Bonus for us all, Is of course you are rather good at it.

Thanks for sharing.

Hope you feel a lot better very soon @dogslife . You are right that Covid is still lurking around.
Thanks @krystyna. I have been really poorly. Not been this ill since we had real flu several years ago. In fact it's been worse.Mr. D is on the mend but I seem to be taking longer. Maybe because of the high blood sugars? Our last vaccines were in November so it is either a new variant or the effects have worn off. We were booked for flu and Covid boosters next month but the doctors have cancelled the appointments for both and remade them for November. I reckon with how ill I've been I will have built up some immunity anyway! Stay vigilant. Covid is still lurking! Best wishes.

Hi @Annb .

I gave a win for the attitude & decision on fbg .

A natural hug though for the disturbance to your sleep .

I'm pretty sure I'd be very confused by all the info & numbers anyone using insulin has to wade through to get a decent balance .

Sure it isn't, but prior to my DX, I knew a type 1, who just made it look so easy. I see know what a great act that was ..much respect gained for any walking THAT line

@dunelm makes an interesting point about evening snack.

I was at the cusp of saying similar but with regard to morning numbers

I have seen a few T2D struggle to stop numbers rising once up, and oddly, the answer did seem to be eat something to STOP the rise..

I suppose for some that lack of morning food, sends their body into 'danger mode' and it rushes to deliver an extra liver dump to help them start the day....
How different being so similar, we all are...:banghead:

I suspect the process at END of the day, would be similar .

Perhaps the giving of your body 'some' small portion of food to 'work on' keeps it a little too busy, to begin pumping out unneeded insulin during the night....mmhh

Best of luck, sure this would even test the minds of Monsieur poirot or our own Sherlock Holmes .

Best wishes for the day.

Good news on Mr D but less so about yourself. Hopefully you will both be hale and hearty for the November jabs. Take care and don't try to push beyond what your body tells you is sensible.

Thank you @ianpspurs. To be honest physically all my energy is being used to fight this virus so no choice atm. Best wishes. Take good care of yourself and be extra cautious.

Brave indeed having seen the nighttime shenanigans from the trail cam..:angelic:

How lovely midnight purring must have felt.

(Though I have read cats purring isn't always contentment)
..but in this case, surely it is.."look night critters, my forever mummy.."

But deffo jeans next + it'll be colder too .

Ghost cat must have got the word on the street, that you're making movies...

Obviously audition went poorly.

I see the Studio star & co-producer went over to tell em ..
"Nice audition, sweet cheeks,
but don't call us...we'll call you ....NEXT"

It's a hard knock life..

Oh @Krystyna23040 how you must have kicked yourself after, if only you could have

So very like you, wanting to help others....but it's just so easy to do & not see all the possible outcomes ..ouch

Good thing is you have the knowledge and can untangle those stressed muscles etc.

Enjoy the day.
