What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I have bought shoes and slippers from Amazon and they haven't fitted but I never seem to get around to sending them back so I end up sending them to a charity shop. I currently hav e a pair of slippers still in their box which has been sitting around waiting for me to send them somewhere for months. Hate to think how much money I have wasted this way. No excuse for it - my son is our postman and he could take them for me, but everything becomes so difficult - having to download and print a return label, pack it all up securely and hand it over - doesn't sound so much, but I don't have a printer. Neil does, but organising sending stuff to the printer isn't straightforward. Could have bought my own printer with what I have wasted but then, where would I put it?

But Amazon are very good about things being returned and provide a very useful and valuable service.
These came up today. I have not heard of them before but they look interesting, I have posted the link for the women's models: https://thefitville.uk/collections/women-all-shoes/products/fitville-womens-easytop-diabetic-shoes

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and all who got a little flag when they took their cycling proficiency test as children.

A 5.6 on that meter of deception this morning, has anybody noticed their are two, to or too ways to too or two spell morening? Edit perhaps 3, mourning?

Was out and about this Morening and having just woken up from my afternoon nap thought I’d better post my reading this morning.
It’s no wonder illiteracy is climbing with complexity of written Engrish language.

I hope those suffering with the dreaded covid have a quick recovery and not being nasty , please they stay away from me, I’m due my 6th jab next week, yep 6th.

Stay safe all and if you need exercise try skipping the light fandango

Those shoes from Amazon look really interesting but I see that they have an arch support built in. I have a very low instep and have never been able to wear a shoe with an arch support. Could I ask you, @dunelm, is the arch support built up very much, or almost flat?
Hi @Annb - the link I put up was for a shoe website I saw today not Amazon. The ones that I bought are Sketchers. I buy them because the have a ‘relaxed’ fit and have a flat footbed. The website using that link does say that they do a 30 day return.

Hours of exercise pulling down and then picking up cider apples. Yesterday afternoon managed to harvest three trees. Only five more to go...but René is coming today to collect the apples, so it's unlikely all will be bagged by whatever time he comes. It's a lot of work, but still better than picking up windfalls every day for months. If they are not collected we fruit flies, wasps, hornets and other flies all feeding on the rotting fruit. The occasional Red Admiral butterfly does not compensate for the rest of the pests.
In the area referred to as the garden we still have eleven cider Apple trees. One is mostly dead and marked for firewood. Of the others we leave on the ground fruit from the two at the rear fenceline and collect from the remaining eight. There are another eight trees in our field which are also left on the ground or tree to be available for wildlife or birds.

My parents have a number of fruit trees - apples, pears, plumbs, figs. They invite friends and neighbours round for help yourself picking days as it’s too much for them now.

Haha for Kiki komment.. :)

Hugs you haven't caught anything.

Hoping farmer hook, has friends who can use or sell apples for you..< pray >
He is taking the apples to the local cider making cooperative, in the nearby village. So they will be used. Am still not sure if I get paid for them...Still it's good to be rid of them. The picking up of windfalls goes on for months and MrSlim is always reluctant to take the weekly trip to the tip. So even if no monetary reward will still make life easier for both of us.

Its a nice idea. But until this year nobody wanted cider apples.

Maybe you have a neighbour with a pig or 2 they would lend to clear the apples.

Not too uncomfortable, just inconvenient if sitting in church or by the graveside or going anywhere for that matter. Anyway another dose of Loperamide seems to have done the trick. Then I decided to have just some of the broth from the soup I'd made, so no fibre and it has remained where I put it, so I may repeat the experiment in a while. Have to be careful though - I've been avoiding much in the way of vegetables for this very reason. Only eating onion (low fibre but a bit high on the sugar) and mushrooms - also not fibrous. I have had some spinach, of course, but that has never seriously affected me for some reason. Maybe I'll have to watch out for that in future. Have to rely more on meat but may need some sort of supplement to get the vitamins and minerals that I need. I have some B12, C and D supplements - all separate but it's a bit of a bind taking the 3 different things on top of all my pills and I often forget so perhaps I should have a look for an all-in-one supplement. I'll ask Neil what he takes to support his very restricted diet.
Good that the Loperamide seems to have done the trick. I also supplement with vitamin D and C. I did look at all in one supplements but decided to buy them separately to get a higher dose of them.

Good morning everyone, it’s market day here in the dark and dangerous north so I will be flitting from stall to stall muttering ‘carbs, more carbs, even more carbs, ah! Bacon”. “Sourdough bread is better for your gut”. - no it isn’t and I already have a proudly exhibiting gut thank you very much. They do have an interesting variety of scotch eggs by some folks branded as The Clucking Pig and the game counter is good for a treat. Started on a course of Prednisolone yesterday - only 5 days but 40mg a day.
Art bit - another one finished. Have a smashing Saturday if you can, I am drinking koffy next.

Hoping the meds have a positive effect

As for market, sounds nice ..
Clucking pig...lol.

Art bit :
Liking how you manipulate the viewers eye, to get such depth perception into each of these pics.

A real change & such a difference to when I remember the more Chinese type of rivers & mountains you did previously

Equally enjoyable, I might add, but these do move the eye further back into the painting .....:cool::cool::cool:

Good morning everyone. fbs was 16.3 at 8am. :arghh: Felt really poorly yesterday with the after effects of Covid. Awoke this morning to see blue skies and beautiful autumn colours out of the bedroom window--enough to raise anyone's spirits. Re-tested for Covid and was completely clear but still feeling unwell. I guess it will take its time. Fortunately I don't have anything planned for the near future so can rest up. Enjoy your week-end folks and stay safe/ well.:)

Good morning all from this bright but not breezy part of the Exotic East. Thank you to the kind person who inquired after me yesterday which was so thoughtful. I gave ratings but we were off out on business so I didn’t post. The business isn't health related but may take a while. @dunelm enjoy the market. I hope the steroids help but you will be disqualified from Olympic competition, just ask Ben. Wonderful art as @jjraak said. @Krystyna23040 hug for the probable after effects of the flu jab. Ours are nest week so we are forewarned. Anyone else have after effects? Some prep for grandson minding later, he can now walk a little, as his big sister is going to a party. Football to watch this evening. So far no heating used beyond the sun streaming in to our lounge keeping evenings around 21/22c and first thing in the mornings around 19c. Our PM doesn't believe there will be a winter of disconnect but her track record on anything other than preaching to the ultra blue members choir is dismal. With that upbeat thought I'll leave you with a song brought to you by me remembering a Bisto Best advert.

Yesterday dinner included roast potatoes from the previous day. Should have been fine for me. Except I dropped the bowl they were in - so MrSlim made buttery mashed potatoes. Potatoes fresh from the garden, local butter. Irresistible.
Spent most of the day shaking apples out of the trees and collecting them ready to go to the distillery. Very tiring.
Disappointed that René has not arrived to take them to the distillery this morning.
Kiki was so exhausted from her time outside she slept most of the evening and made no objection to early bedtime.
We have now gone 24 hours without a puddle. Although i did wake her in the night. Fingers crossed the message has got through.
Tried to post photo but will not upload
