What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Another event coming up on Monday afternoon and I have a request for a vegetarian soup and some cupcakes. I have some carrots, some squash, some onions, some leeks, some potatoes, some bell peppers, some peas and some beans and some tinned tomatoes. Sounds a bit like what we used to call minestra (minestrone without the meat) when I was cooking for the cafe in the local arts centre. There should be some pasta in it and there is some in the cupboard, but I might leave that out so that low carbers can have some of it.
Cupcakes. A bit fed up making chocolate or coffee ones. Have to think of something different. I do have some dried strawberry powder so could use that. But that's not everyone's cup of tea. Maybe chocolate/orange. A bit different anyway, and more likely to go down well. Looks like a fairly busy Sunday.

Another lady without whose love and care for others life would be the poorer. Enjoy the cooking and baking but do remember to eat, drink and rest. The good book says love your neighbour as yourself not instead of yourself.

Good morning all on a bright and mild, if slightly damp, start to Saturday in this part of Breckland . Flight tracker is back especially for one BA flight from the Dominican Republic,. No idea why :angelic: @gennepher thank you for another wonderful creative capturing the colours of autumn in this country perfectly. Also, your use of language is outstanding. The example below conveys a scene and emotions so beautifully just as though the reader is there. Bravo

@dunelm busy day yesterday which will hopefully prove beneficial. Thank you for adding just enough to the latest art to keep me in suspense as to where it goes next. @Krystyna23040 gently does it today - well, as gently as your personality allows - then enjoy a relaxing (for you) half-term. My usual salmon salad became tuna salad yesterday after a wander around the local market. There is now a fabulous cake/coffee/smoothie with all kinds of delights to which I treated JKP, the two grandchildren and No 3 son. I had 1 - not heaped - teaspoon each of two individual cheesecakes; millionaires shortbread and key lime. They were sublime darling, sublime. God further blessed me in being able to enjoy some precious time with those I love. The joy of my youngest grandson on my lap was a rich blessing indeed. Have a simply wonderful day or if that is not possible imagine one.
Thanks @ianpspurs. Those cakes look fabulous daarhling, must order, but not until after week 3 of back pain course, got to protect the mail. Grandchildren - the whole point of of it all - well a good slice of it.

Thank you very much for that lovely enormous compliment on my use of language @ianpspurs

It has been a hard road to get to where I am now, with words (language) for me. The cochlear implant helped this improvement these last 14 years (even though I have grumbles from tIme to time about it).
I am somewhere now with words (language) that was not possible, prior to the implant (I only knew words from lipreading and text), and I feel now very acutely aware of my prior limitations.

Thank you again for your beautiful compliment Ian.
Marvelous achievement that we just cannot comprehend.

Sounds marvelous - I love a good soup - I have a chicken carcass in the pressure cooker as I type. Wonder if a bit of pasta could be made and people could then decide if they want to put some into the bottom of bowls before soup is added - chocolate goes veer nycie with orange - and oranges and zest and a twist of lime. Stop it!

For those interested in IF or Tim Spector this is a useful little podcast. Of course some people may have a perfectionist streak and become exercised by a little milk in the morning if a partner or child made the tea/coffee. If you know someone like that follow the Chatham House Rule :D
Yep, a wee splash of milk is what floats my boat. I have kept up with the Zoe app - good info

Sounds like you are going to be busy@Annb. Chocolate/ orange sounds good to me for the cupcakes. Could you do something lemon flavoured? I used to love lemon sponge muffins with a lemon curd centre. :hungry:

Good morning everyone from another potentially soggy day here in the dark and dangerous north. Mr Pickle, our grandson has gone to Barcelona to play in the U14 tournaments with his team, North Yorkshire Football Academy. They won their first game 2-1 yesterday but struggled thereafter. Onwards and upwards, more games today. I shall be packing a bag for the final week of the back pain course. I must say that it has been quite beneficial in terms of both knowledge gained and importantly, help with lowering the pain itself by way of several types of exercise and relaxation techniques. Art bit - final bits of detail added, will do some coloring this afternoon. Have a wonderful day if you can. I better go and make some koffy .

Fbg 6.5

This stray cat comes every day and every night.
He eats food I put out in the day time for the stray cats.
At night he comes in the garden and patrols the entire garden as well as under the swing, several times.
Then when he has done that, the wildlife camera in the kitchen tells me he comes in through the cat flap, apparently with Midnight's approval, and polishes off the remains of Midnight's supper.

But then, the wildlife camera tells me as soon as Ghost Cat leaves my kitchen, Midnight jumps down from his chair and leaves the kitchen also. And the back garden wildlife cameras shows Ghost Cat walking in front of the garden swing with Midnight in close pursuit...

After that, I have no idea...

Ghost Cat watches me in day time, but if I move he is gone.

Creative is an autumn painting in Procreate....

Raining here.
Dull and gloomy...
A hot cuppa needed.
Have your best day today.
