What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Coffee and cream
1oz pkt mixed nuts
Cottage cheese and tomato
Smoked salmon cheese tomato
Coffee with a small amount of full fat milk

Welcome back to this thread those of you who have found your way back including @Mrs T 123 and @RosemaryJackson you've been missed. Also good to to see new posters - welcome to all
Today's food
Black coffee till lunch - had my eye screening today it's my least favourite annual diabetes check but realise it has to be done.
1ish two eggs fried in butter served on one slice of low carb bread followed by two squares of 90% chocolate and a small portion of kefir
Inspired by new DGF low carb wraps went for pulled pork with hm guacamole with plenty of chilli to spread on the wrap, watercress and tomato salad and suerkraut

Pudding LC warmed blondie served with spoon of yoghurt.

Breakfast : ff greek with half a very small pear and tablespoon seeds.
(I don't usually breakfast before an exercise class but working on constipation issue.)

Exercise class followed by coffee ( herbal tea for me)

Lunch: egg mayo on lettuce leaves, half a Scotch egg, 1 sq hm lc coffee cake, 1 hm lc millionaires bite

Hilly dog walk

Dinner: curry from leftover veg and chicken and most of a tin of very thick coconut milk. Rice for the carb eaters.
Panettone made into bread and butter pudding, sugar version for the carb eaters, sugarless for me.
Now feeling very very full indeed.

No breakfast as Saturday is yoga day.
Hall was cold so when I stopped at the supermarket on the way home I did have a coffee - with milk as they can't serve cream, even though there's shelves of it only meters away :banghead:
Did get a bargain of 15 hard boiled eggs for just a £1, and sliced mushrooms and sliced peppers for just pence.
Lunch was 4 eggs, with mayo.
Rest have been mixed with mayo and may get as far as the freezer, or may just end up being meals tomorrow as neither of my boys like them cold, lucky me!
Dinner was a couple of hm lc kofta balls (lamb) on a little lettuce with fried peppers and mushrooms and a yoghurt and cucumber dressing.

Then, one of the neighbours we'd hosted last week, dropped in 16 proper French macarons she'd had her family who live in France buy especially for us as a thank you! I have had one bite of a few, just for the taste. I could eat the whole box! Came beautifully wrapped and in a posh carrier bag.
Interesting that there's no ingredients or nutritional label. Apparently all the French know what's in a macaron. Like their style
Ground almonds, egg whites, food colouring, but a shame about the 330g of sugar split between granulated and icing. You can, of course, use substitutes, but about 2/3rds of the recipe being sweetener?? Not sure what that would do to the nether region.
Fillings are easily dealt with.

@shelley262 that pork looks good! Not so sure about the chilli though :bigtears::hilarious:

@MrsA2 try an extra large portion of thick double cream - gets me moving every time!

Today’s food was:

Meal 1 - a tin of tuna mixed with Hunter & Gather avocado oil mayonnaise and some pink salt.
Meal 2 - two cheese and pickle sandwiches on LivLife bread - about the limit of my carb tolerance (did a back of the envelope calculation a while back and reckon it’s about 23 carbs/45 protein/50 fat all in including butter etc.) but very tasty.

A few Montezuma’s buttons later on. Yes, there are still a few left - a world record in these parts!

There was no link but I am thinking you mean one of these:

I have two - both gifts from my DIL - and they are fantastically warm, especially with layers underneath. The only problem with them is that the sleeves, in particular, are very bulky and tend to get in the way when trying to either wash dishes or cook. I hate getting my sleeves wet, don't you? The one I am wearing just now has a reasonable sized hood but it is very close at the neck. The other one has a huge hood, which does, also tend to get in the way.

Edited to fix a typo.
My swimming towels are like this (except they are not fleecy). Great in cold weather.

And I totally forgot to boast about the bargain I picked up today. Sainsbury’s had the Serious Pig Snacking Cheese (just baked cheese), usually sold for an extortionate £1.50 for a small bag on a clearance deal for 38p! Picked up all the remaining 6 packets.

Sadly I guess that means they’ll no longer be stocking it as it definitely wasn’t to do with the expiry date (why I checked that I don’t know as it’s of little relevance given how quickly they’re likely to be eaten).

Sadly I guess that means they’ll no longer be stocking it as it def wasn’t to do with the expiry date (why I checked that I don’t know as it’s of little relevance given how quickly they’re likely to disappear).

edit: You obviously need to get to £75 to avoid shipping costs.
Looks doable, just found this section.
Glad I don't live in the UK or I'd be in trouble now I found this webshop...

edit #2: They're different links, they only look the same. Stupid software wanting to display previews.

Wouldn’t you like to take it up: sewing? As someone with 5 machines, plus a vintage (and I sold a machine last month), I could lead you in all manner of expensive ways.

Haha no thanks! not even tempted this time - you’re speaking to someone who has been known to staple up my jeans hems rather than get out needle and thread.

Back to food…
B- eggs cooked your way- I’m getting even better at ignoring eggs.
L- charcuterie with olives and avocado 10g Montezuma’s 100%
D- h/m cheeseburger with salad of spinach, walnuts, red pepper and avocado. Cup of tea with milk.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a food dr bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: coffee shop coconut cappuccino
Dinner: bolognese with sliced sautéed courgette with a sprinkle of mature grated cheddar followed by SF cherry jelly and cream.

Just as good, but cheaper.
I had 2x12 boxes as a Christmas present

Morning all. Computer finally mended so back with you. I'm fasting today for as long as possible because I've had a very disturbed night with an horrendous tummy upset. But I have some beef in the slow cooker just in case I need to eat. It's really nice to be back, I've missed you all.

Good to see you back but sorry about the upset tum. Hope you’ll be back on form tomorrow.

Oh boo! I’ve only just discovered it!

Been struggling despite remaining low carb and IF. Went away on rural retreat for most of January. February will need a change of regime for me. Fast 800 keto anyone?
Today I didn’t eat until 2:15 pm, a slice of cheddar. Black decaff coffee.
Dinner left over beef from yesterday’s roast brisket, savoy cabbage and leeks in cream cheese, sparkling mineral water.
Plenty of glasses of water throughout day, and 2 cups of black decaff coffee.

1: 2 egg omelette with onion and red pepper and a few slices of salami
2: Finished off the tub of yoghurt with some five spice and a little ground vanilla added for flavour
3: went a bit overboard* and ate about 250g of ground beef with onions, tomatoes, herbs and fresh spinach and a little grated cheese on top

*Not that I count up calories usually but just had a look to see what they were saying, and to maintain the weight I am atm apparently I need to eat around 3.2k calories a day and it seems that I ate around 1.3k cals today, so maybe it just felt overboard as was a huge meal.

That's the other madness, I'd have to eat a LOT of real food to eat that much calories in a day, and that doesn't seem easily done, even for a big fella like me - eat half a pack of digestives and that's 1k just gone over a few cups of tea without even batting an eyelid.
