What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are non royalists, best you hide today.
Blood sugars this morning were a non quiche fuelled 6.1 . Here in Tilehurst Towers the menu for today is more celebratory than low ish carb.

Today is in my opinion a historic event and one I never thought I would see, I shall join Mrs J in watching as much as I can. Unfortunately banal commentary could well lead for profanities being uttered. Mrs J has refused, as expected to watch the ceremony with the sound on mute.
The procession has just started and my what a huge amount of horse droppings, but I’ve yet to see the royal rose grower nip out with a bucket and spade.

Have a great day all and if you want some manure for your roses best head for the procession route.

Stay safe.

You can back up your phone numbers and addresses, to an app @jjraak
I have printed out a paper copy in the past.
Or as vcf files, in my case sent to another device. I think they are called VCards now.
Good advice @gennepher

I've backdd mine up for many years with my Google account.

Makes things SO much easier when rolling over to new phone phone.

SIM in, connect to web, log into Google.
A few taps and my phone's set up like the previous one...simplicity itself compared my earlier attempts.

Input numbers, go find apps, blah blah blah.

Sure I've done similar for every new iPhone Lauren's had, too...mmhh

As for printing out, I stopped a good while back, to few I'd really need to worry about until I get the phone back up dowloaded & running again

...however I do have a written list of a Select few that is on a notepad stuck on the fridge door.

For those
"where is my **** phone, this time... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: "
moments when I need to call someone asap.

Morning @alf_Josiah .

Hoping you & Mrs Alf thoroughly enjoy the day and all the pomp & pageantry.

I have just had a long email from a vegetarian friend who insists that it is not the vegetarian sausage I ate that caused my blood sugars to go haywire. And says a lot more...she has no understanding of diabetes.

And finishes recommending a particular meat sausage saying it would be good for me. I looked at the list of ingredients and I do not have enough fingers and toes to be able to count the number of ingredients in this meat sausage...I don't know what many of the ingredients are...and I don't know what they are doing in a sausage...

Currently I don't have a polite reply ...

Liking the restraint .

Horrifying isn't it when you do look at some foods to see it's less about food and more about chemical compositions.

Do they test them on animals before getting the ok for humans.
Perhaps I could volunteer Tory MPs for the pre human testing programme?

(See the gov allowing testing make up on animals again.... ..no no no.)

Surely not...animal testing again?!?

I'll sign your petition for volunteering Tory MP's

I can already smell the charred barbecuing of cheap meat and cheap sausages going on around me. The meat couldn't smell any deader. I am half choking on the fumes.
It's noisy and sounds like it is alcohol fuelled as well.

I will take off my sound processor, and burn some incense....

I have nothing against the Royal family, or monarchy in general, and they are pretty good at putting on a pageant for everyone's enjoyment (if they wish to indulge) but I can't be bothered listening to the ridiculous babble from commentators who feel they have to say something to justify their presence - however banal. So I didn't listen at all, or watch very much but Alistair was telling me that he caught a bit on the radio where a commentator was talking about the long tradition of the monarch's consort putting a rose on the grave of the unknown warrior. The first one to do this was the late Queen's mother. Not sure if Prince Philip did it. But the tradition can't be all that long. I mean, how long has the tomb of the unknown warrior been there anyway? Nice gesture, but daft commentary.

Oh must be habit rather than a long tradition - the tomb has only been there since 1920. You are right about the commentators inane babble mind. On and on about nothing in particular. Glad that the pensioners didn’t let their crowns fall off. Must have been quite uncomfortable for the pair of them.

We did thank you, as predicted the commentary left a lot to be desired and my comments about horse droppings could be applied.

My overall thoughts were the music was dire, commentary inane and the ceremony overly religious.
Apart from these negative comments what a fantastic event and incredibly well organised.
No wonder people travel from all over the world to Gt Britain to see these events, think of the income for this country. In my opinion the royal more than cover their cost.

Not overheard conversation at the coronation between Kate and William

William “ wow this is something else “
Kate “ If you think I’m gonna sit through this load of old tosh when your dad pops his clogs and it’s your turn think again “.

Morning all from a still damp L.A. I hope everyone is in good order after day one and ready for the next two. Personally, I liked the music and sermon/homily yesterday but there was probably enough variety for adults to either take something out of the day (Watching the dambusters was as much a highlight as anything).or get away from it. I'm apathetic about the Monarchy which is a more positive stance in their favour than even five/ten years ago. Monarch with only a ceremonial role or a Trumpian/Johnsonian figure? If you are going to/having a celebration lunch/party enjoy and I hope the weather holds. I mainly avoid anything similar but my nearest and dearest know I don't really do parties anyhow. Today will be a Sunday roast day after collecting a marble rolling pin from W******* since we put the one we had in an altogether too safe place. Dummy run taught us that Keto pastry, for quiche tomorrow, needs a heavy rolling pin but has no nasty after taste or effects. Enjoy your Sunday.

Wild life nighttime cameras
Cats & Fox & a hungry sopping wet Badger

In the beginning the ginger cat is feeding off the cat biscuits, while the fox is feeding beneath him. This cat and fox are often in very close proximity, or under the swing at the same time.

The cat sees the badger first and runs off. The fox looks round, and decides to follow suit. The hungry wet badger tries his hardest, and finally gets the foil tray of cat biscuits off the swing...

Creative is another wild flower from my garden.
Comfrey.
It does well in my garden.
It is in several places.
The leaves are big. Big enough for one to wrap round your arm or leg is needed. It is called knitbone. The leaves makes good fertiliser for the garden....

Midnight has gone out to referee.
Because Mr Magpie and Mr Heffalump (wood pigeon) arrived together and collided midair. And they went on my roof, above my head, where I could hear some kind of scuffle. Mr Magpie emerged and went to the bird table where I had left loads and loads of food for him. If I don't, he will try and steal the cat biscuits from the swing which Midnight is now zealously guarding. But this Mr Magpie has hungry babies to feed and he is going to take the food he needs. Mr Magpie is back and forth. The nest can only be very near in one of the local massive old oak trees I can see from my bungalow. It is just morning Mr Magpie does this from my garden, so I expect the rest of the day he is probably taking it more easy getting grubs and stuff, unless he has found someone else to give him food. I do not replenish that bird table once mid morning has gone, and Mr Magpie knows that.

I have some seeds on the ground which Mr Magpie is not interested in, for the small birds. And the smaller birds, up to even blackbirds will eat from the fatballs which are replenished frequently. Mr Magpie finds them difficult to hang on to. But if he is desperate for food for his babies he will try and try and try. When I see that, I go out and give him more cat biscuits and wet food. That is a lot safer than having a desperate angry magpie in my garden. It only lasts a few days, or did last year and I am assuming his babies are big and probably almost ready to leave the nest.

Have your best day.

Time for a cuppa and a Power Nap....Skype call due soon...

Thanks for sharing that wonderful creative. Good news that although the fbg is above what you want it isn't going higher but I hope and pray your normal soon returns. Hope you have/had a good skype and the rest of the day goes as you would wish.

FBG (5 am) 11.1. Up a bit by 7 am and back down to 10.9 now.

Had a very lazy morning and am just out of the shower. Weighed myself while I was there and found I haven't put all the weight back on after all. In fact I'm down a pound or 2. All to the good.

Just about to start making shortbread, which I know is my brother's favourite biscuit. Not sure when they'll get here tomorrow - won't be for breakfast but might be for lunch. Might be for afternoon tea. Doubt if it will be for an evening meal. I am intending to have a few options available - pasta Bolognese, cauli cheese, cold bits for a salad, lemon drizzle cake, brownies, shortbread and scones. Should cover everything. All making me feel hungry so maybe I should have some breakfast first.

Thank you @ianpspurs
And thanks for the prayers
Skype was good.
Sun is out, and so is the street party people and alcohol and their £1 foil barbecues from Poundland, with those obnoxious fumes coming from them...

Ear is off. I am about to burn my rubbish and pop a couple of foil wrapped potatoes to bake in the ashes..

You have your best day...
