What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.4 this morning, but also 7.4 after breakfast.

Been doing really well (5-6 mM for more than a week consistently) so got pretty miffed at high readings all yesterday for no apparent reason.

This morning I clearly have a cold. Interesting that my monitoring spotted it before the symptoms started.
Does with me too, bloods usually start to rise a day or so before the cold comes out.

My meter gave me a red flag for a reading of 4.4 mM - hypoglycemic. I was a bit confused by this. Is 4.4, 4.3 OK or not?
That would be ok for most, @WaveyDavey123 , unless the medication you are on can cause hypos.
I always prefer to not have lower readings than 4.5 ( hmm, long time since that occurred) as I feel light headed and very hungry below that. We all find our own best level, eventually.
My best level today was 6.8, which is not really optimum for me at all.

Cheers Pipp, not even seen a nurse yet, so no medication for me (yet)... and I don't think I'll need it tbh. Fairly convinced I'm pre diabetic really.
I felt no problems at all with that 4.4 and I had my tea soon after so it went back up reasonably soon.

I didn't know you could change the meter flag settings until today so thanks for that. It does tell me to seek medical advice before altering them though. Which is probably reasonable as this thing is person to person specific.

Edited: Sorry, posted this on wrong thread!

Knew we were going out for pub lunch today so had a very small breakfast of 2 teaspoons ff greek with blueberries and a cwc.

L: As on last day of holiday decided to not limit myself as lc options were boring (burger or salad - again!) so had dirty fries with pulled pork and cheese. Added a salad and left a good half the chips. 2 white wines with soda. Paid 10.3 on bg 90 minutes after and 7.3 3 hours after (fell asleep in between).

A discussion with hubby after - he called it a treat, but it's not a treat to me as I know it isn't good for me and wasn't tasty enough to elevate it to treat status. So what was it? A planned deviation? A conscious aberration?

I think sometimes we just want to eat without having to think about it. I normally eat vegan keto but occasionally will break out and have chips. I love potatoes, but they are not in my normal diet so I don’t feel guilt for a very occasional serve of chips.

What are your morning numbers mate? How you you been on a diet controlled measure
I've been keto for a year and a half, and my bg measured fasting but after my morning walk and coffee is almost always in the 5s. I don't bother with a foot-on-the-floor test now as it clearly isn't relevant to the rest of my readings, so is a waste of a strip.

Trouble with that sort of food ‘treat’is that overwhelming need to sleep after. Then the sluggish feeling on waking, and the perverse desire to repeat the experience, even though we know we are harming ourselves. Hope you don’t feel the need to repeat the ‘treat’ @MrsA2 .

My fasting level was 6.8 again this morning. No treats, just plodding on as usual.
