What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.8 @ 11.30am, whilst watching the frustration at the test!
Since then, we have made inroads to their batting line-up. Maybe I should have done my FBG, now, who cares?
Cricket was entrenched in my sporting life, since I could walk. I was blessed, as my eldest brother was for batting, we both had a knack for scoring, against any bowling or tactic. My eldest brother even had trials for Lancs. And the only reason he didn't get into the county club as a pro, was cos he went to the wrong grammar school! His record at his grammar school now a comp, is still there, fifty-sixty years later. He went onto be a great club cricketer. As did my other two brothers, myself and my nephews, and my eldest son who is captain of his club at 43 years old!
The last three days have been, 7, 8, 6mmols so a bit of a rollercoaster. I'm hoping in the next week it does start to settle down.
The weather is back to February or November! It is wet and windy and no more than about 13 degrees, the wife put the central heating in the front room for an hour. Yes it was that cold!
Can't get out to tidy the garden either, so that is why I'm writing this now!

I would love to go to San Francisco, cos of my trekkie fascination, visiting the headquarters of The Federation being located next to the Golden Gate bridge and park, it would be great to visit there!

Picked up a nice piece of cod for my evening meal (omad) with a mixed baby leaf salad and the obligatory huge fresh tomato.

It's a day for the grandkids to come round and entertain us, (disrupt my cricket viewing) , at least it gets me up and about rather than doing chores!

Have a great weekend peeps!

Best wishes.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those on holiday and those Trekkie fans.
Welcome @Omar51 to this little corner of this useful site.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3 after some careful eating last night. With good reason.

This morning I took my motorcycle out for a shakedown run after a few minor, but essential modifications, I left Tilehurst Towers before Mrs J was up and able to thwart my plans and of course had to stop part way round my journey for the obligatory bacon and koffy.

Stay safe all.

Only ate half the roll, needed the carbs.IMG_0186.jpegIMG_0185.jpeg

Marjorie disappointed by Golden Gate because it wasn't golden!

Marjorie disappointed by Golden Gate because it wasn't golden!
Apparently, it's because of the Golden sands of the estuary!
Or the Golden flowers surrounding the 'gate '!
Or the gold deposits in them, thar hills, cos of the famous gold rush of 'Clementine' and the '49ers'! ( No not the American football team!)
Or the sunshine in the morning that wakes you up is so golden, when you look towards the bridge!
Or, whatever!
Strange enough I downloaded some jigsaws yesterday and one of them was the Golden gate bridge!
It's very rusty.............red colour, or is it rusty, like most iron bridges that need painting all the time!
who cares?

So windy, cool and sunny now!, So soooo windy!

My poor Em was very upset at the end of term because many of her friends were moving up to the secondary school - she was in a single class for P6 and P7. Her best friend is moving on with them. But what made it worse was that the parents of her best friend, within Em's earshot, told their daughter that she would never do well in school if she hung around "that loser". That's the first time Em has been hurt because of her unique outlook on life. It won't be the last, of course, but she is at a very vulnerable time in her life just now. I hate to see her so upset though. I suppose she will overcome the hurt and be stronger as a result.

Poor Em having to hear that and hug for you as you obviously feel for her.. Of course the Patriarchs and the Lord himself had what many people considered a unique outlook on life. On a brighter note what a cheerful kaleidoscope @gennepher.

Hugs for Em @Annb

Cruel, shallow, no need.

Some people are thoughtless, others are cruel. It's sad that Em heard these nasty words. I hope she will realise that those people don't actually know her, so their opinion is worthless.
We are taught right from wrong from very young. It does seem that certain individuals push boundaries, or are pushed into doing by their peers, who have no respect for others feelings!
Until it happens to them!

No one likes a bully!

Em is usually very resilient and I'm sure she will bounce back from this pretty rapidly and she will bounce back stronger than she was. Hate to see her hurting but I am really angry at those parents. Not only was their comment uncalled for, it was untrue because Em is pretty bright and wouldn't hold anyone back. She comes from a well educated, hard working family, albeit a bit "alternative". What those parents' problem is, I can't think.

I can't think what those parents problem is either. It was a very uncalled for comment.
