What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all on a bright start to an in between day here in L.A. In between phone consultation yesterday and 3 monthly scan for what lies beneath tomorrow. Currently I'm clear for take off on the next cycle of drips and tablets but obviously tomorrow may change things. @Annb shame the cleaner didn't arrive nor explain why. @dunelm I'm glad the relaxed part of the gathering went well and hope tonight also goes well. You're not a golfer then? Thanks for sharing the majestic art. @gennepher I hope you acquire what you desire. I gave a winner for your post but the lower creative implies a hug would be equally valid. Hopefully using creatives posted here will be of benefit to you in expressing your feelings without revealing things you wish to keep private. Have a song to go with the video - lyrics. @Krystyna23040 good news on normal for your part of NN resuming. @Lamont D Bazball should be both fun and slightly poignant. Enjoy your day - JKP and MIL are off to make perfume (birthday present) so I'll just have to dog sit, watch sport and drink tea.:(:D

This morning 6.5 that is a finger prick rleading as libre finished yesterday .

Update on kitchen all cupboards finished and tiling completed looks great thought that was it thought wrong Keiran not happy with kitchen sink so new one delivered yesterday so he will be ripping the old one out and fitting the new one in the next day or so he is making full use of all those qualifications he gained in electrical fitting, plumbing and painting and decorating before taking his degree in economics I’m getting a little concerned as he has a qualification in brick laying just hope he doesn’t decide to tear the whole house down and rebuild it.
Love him to bits when people say youngsters today are lazey he shows that is just not so, he has done all this while working full time for the. Post office.
it's good to know that we have some skills in our younger generation, my eldest grandson is in the building trade, and he is skilled in all aspects of building, not just brick laying, but joinery, enveloping most things in the trade.
You must be the guinea pig house so that he can do stuff and knows that you will tolerate all the work!
Would you encourage him to do more? Ha!

6.7 aaaaaaaaaagggghhhhh. Thought I'd cracked it! But no!

Rather cooling wind, and no rain, as yet! But there are breaks in the fluffy cloud to get some warmth. I'm just wondering if it will be possible to get at least 25 degrees again this year, without wind and no showers to interrupt the day? That is all I ask? Is that too much?
Or do I expect too much?

Anyway went to watch the footie last night and wanting to just be sitting there having a quiet watch. It seemed that the gods of my fate had something else lined up. I met so many friends, colleagues, old pals, ex players, and even many supporters that I nod to! I wasn't sure that is what I needed but I got some good feelings, that cheered me up somewhat, and I really needed the time away from the house to do me good!
Still am pinching meself, about the assessment yesterday!

Cricket is on, cuppa on table, the few chores done and shops done. Hoping that the younger grandkids come round and cheer me up. Hoping for a more relaxing day!

Have a wonderful Saturday.
As always my best wishes.

So glad you had a good day yesterday and that meeting all those people cheered you. Enjoy your grandchildren, if they come. If not, try to have as relaxing a time as possible.

Good morning everyone on what may or may not be a fine day here in Harrogate. 5.2 this am and I have a small list of goods to purchase from Betty’s tea rooms for Mrs Miggins and our daughter. Sounds expensive, better warn the moths in my purse. A lively evening last night and some have already departed for the day for a wander round some manicured fields with a bag of bats and small white balls. More arriving today, our reunion dinner tonight - a collar and tie are required. Hopefully other garments also. Art bit, the finished gate. Hope you all have a smashing day, the hotel koffy is dreadful.

Thanks @ianpspurs
I did acquire what I needed, what I went out for.

I was also lucky in acquiring half a dozen antique maps from an old bookshop....to add to my map collection....

You are perceptive. I need to express myself, and art allows me to do that.

Hug accepted, and the song and lyrics...

Thanks @ianpspurs

Glad you had a successful journey. Enjoy a cuppa and the latest maps.

Didn't know you were a fan of maps. You would have got on well with my Tom - he loved maps and charts (well he was a navigator at sea but that didn't explain the land based ones). We have quite a few maps of how things were in our lifetime so we can see how they have changed plus a few copies of older maps - mostly Victorian. They are fascinating, I have to admit. Much better than the pesky Google type that you can get online.

Glad you managed to get what you needed as well. Sounds like a very reasonable, if tiring, day.

the biggest change in maps is the amount of pink coloured countries. Also the names have changed a lot since my school.
my dad fought in Burma now it's Myanmar, or something like it!

No grandkids, so I'm in and out of the garden, watching cricket, chores and reading in the sunshine, but the wind is horrific! No not me! Very draughty!

If you like maps, memory map use to be very good. I had all the os maps of the uk also the satellite data on the ground and one could fly through a 3D image of mountains with the vertical scale expanded. It gave one the feel of the terrain.
D.
For travelling around the footie grounds. We had a very expensive sat nav. And the graphics were very clear!
Still got lost due to roadworks, diversions, new roads or just plain stupidity!
But never my fault! Ha!

Thanks.

I have been sleeping on and off all afternoon that's how tired I was!

I don't particularly like Google maps. I have a lot of old maps and there is so much history on them.

I do have quite a lot of old star charts of the heavens.

My partner was a sailor and he had quite a few charts of the River Mersey and that bit of the Irish Sea where the ships come in, and it is interesting to see the way the shipping channels change over the years @Annb

Good that you are clear for take off on the next cycle of drips and tablets @ianpspurs.

Hopefully I am now much more normal for my part of Norfolk.

Thanks @ianpspurs

Great that you got what you needed and also brilliant that you were so lucky to come across the antique maps @gennepher.

It is so annoying when blood sugars are unexpectedly higher than they should have been @Lamont D - especially when you are doing your very best to get good readings.
I am now becoming convinced that state of mind, at the time of taking BG levels, is the reason for the rollercoaster ride!
