What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Actually the only thing that I took that I didn't use was my raincoat as the forecast rain didn't happen - which I was really happy about.
Perhaps I am not that bad at the packing - even though it takes me such a long time to do it.
 
Good morning everyone from a decidedly Moist Van Lipwig start to the day here in wet Wales. 5.6 this morning and according to the tweakers of misrule, it should cease raining at or about 8am - which is nice for the 8 adults and 5 children here, the majority of whom are still sleeping. Some folk are aiming for the top of Snowdon today via The Miners path, some just as far as the two lakes from Pen-Y-Pass and then the bus back to Llanberis. Art bit, onwards and upwards. I hope that your day is pleasant, I shall now dig out my travel cafetière and make some koffy.

I was half expecting a way through those rocks, not a solid rock face!!!

Blood sugars still high from that rogue chicken I ate a couple days ago.

Creative - inks have been put away.
I am trying something new for the painting on postcards, but didn't like it.
And so I went in garage and got some soft pastel paintings I did a few years ago. I have since read that you can use water on soft pastels. So I tried it. Interesting. I also had some Aquarelle Neocolour pastels (pastels to add water to), and played with these.
So, a sort of pastel mixed media painting.
Hope you like it!
I just needed something with a bit more expressive freedom!

So will be doing these for a few days, unless I do something else!!!

Pouring with rain here!

Mr Heffalump (wood pigeon) & dunnock are feeding together on the fatball droppings from the sparrows feeding. And now robin redbreast...
Sparrows are happily messily feeding from their fatballs...
The badgers eat these fatball dropping too (not now, they've gone home to bed).

I was late last night. It had gone almost dark before I changed the batteries and sd cards in the trail cameras. And in the bushes I could hear twigs snapping and presumably the crushing of dried leaves. Every time, whatever it was made a sound, it must have froze still until it made the next move. I am guessing a fox. But I could see nothing. When I finished, I got a handful of peanuts and threw them in the bushes. Nothing moved.

Time for another coffee.

BG at 3.30 this morning was 7.8 - now (just after breakfast) 8.7.

Just tried to put some washing on but the washing machine isn't switching on. I'll have to get Neil to have a look at it - probably something fairly simple because I think Neil was doing something electrical in the back porch, where the washing machine is. I think he is still asleep though, so I'll have to wait.
 
I was right! Neil had unplugged the washing machine to use the socket for something else yesterday, then forgot to put the plug back in. The socket is on the wall low down behind the washing machine where I can't see or reach it. The switch that I use is installed above the level of the machine and has a light on it so I can see if it is working or not. His arms are about twice as long as mine, and he's a lot more flexible, so he can reach the socket without too much trouble. Washing on now, so that's one job underway. Cake to be finished off today and I'll see if Alistair can pop in to collect it tomorrow.
 
Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those languishing in the depths of the sheer joy in waking up this morning.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.7 and who knows why and more to the point who cares, because me, me’s and myself don’t.

Mrs J informed me it was 41 years ago today we moved into Tilehurst Towers, neighbours have come and gone and we are still as noisy as we were then, me, me’s and myself with music and Mrs J shouting at me for unknown reasons, such is life, the universe and everything to quote Douglas Adams.

A busy strenuous day is planned a little man is coming round to tackle the garden and hedges this morning, he does a good job and hopefully for him Mrs J will stop me micro managing, a fault Mrs J says I have along with all my other alleged faults. Now where did I leave the shredder.

Stay safe all, I must depart now and receive instructions from Mrs J.
 
Morning all from a very pleasant start to Bank Holiday weekend. That came as a surprise to me until I saw a humungous queue of traffic on the A11. Swipey showed a plausible 4.7 at 6.11 today so the dorys are hunky there - or not. @dunelm the house looks splendid and the day sounds very active. I like that area. #1 son was at Uni in Bangor, I like Bedgellert but Betws-y-Coed is my favourite - reminds me of Bastide towns, just colder and wetter. Thanks for the art. @gennepher thaks so much for that creative which is a-maze-ingg. @Krystyna23040 the break sounds good for you. The walk from the Victoria to the beach and back would have clocked up a fair few steps. @lindisfel we like Wells very much. @Annb good news on the washing machine fix. Yesterday went well after the hour delay on A11 - back way roads closed for water main repairs - visiting and tidying parents grave. Dad's brother is in the next grave, my grandparents and one set of great grandparents within 20 yards. Acquired my salmon and met an old school friend who I will always remember as an 11 year old with the angelic voice singing the solo start of Once in Royal David city. Have a great day I'm off to find some beef.

Usually we zoom with our eldest at Warrington today but she is trying to pre sleep herself before the two of them volunteer at Cream Fields North tonight.
Pre-Sleeping never worked for me when I needed to do Nightshifts in the Beeb.

Dry ATM but rain later. If the rain came down in stair rods like it did the other day here, Creamfields will be quagmire fields which only fenmen have the correct web feet for!

Thank you @ianpspurs and yes, Bewys-y-Coed is a bit SW France. We may well be going there tomorrow and possibly stopping in Capel Curig as well on the way back.
