What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Took painkillers last night and managed to sleep until 6.30. BG at that point was 6.4.

Going to this pot luck brunch so just had a snack of some RyVita with cream cheese plus tea, of course. At the brunch my Libre alert sounded but when I tried to swipe the sensor, it wouldn't work. This happens when the battery is in its last third. I hadn't got to it in time to see if it was telling me BG was too high or too low so I just left it to see what, if anything, would happen. What happened was a hypo so I had a couple of chunks of watermelon but that didn't work, so had some of my adapted keto breakfast casserole (it had some vegetables in it which were a bit carby) and that, eventually, worked. Tried to hide the fact that I was feeling groggy but one of my friends noticed it. She isn't diabetic but was very obese. However, she went onto a very low carb diet - almost carnivore, and has lost a huge amount of weight. I hope to emulate her success, given some time. BG now I am home is 5.0.

Met a new couple who are interested in joining our discussions. He's a software engineer from Argentina (Buenos Ares) and she is an artist from Lille in France. They came to Stornoway on a European tour a couple of years ago and after the covid lockdown in Argentina, decided to move to Stornoway. Luckily, they are both free-lance and can work from here. Jobs are the big issue for Island inhabitants.

Hot cup of tea and that should do me until about 5.30 when I'll make something with minced pork and spinach. 5.30 to have it out of the way before my brother phones at 6.30.

6.8 on a very bright but freezing morning, chilly afternoon on the peninsula. I know it's autumn because I had to rescue the garden from the amount of foliage that had found its way into it. Two garden bin bags into the bin and I could see grass again!

keeping an eye on the cricket and arrows this afternoon and probably some trek this evening! Not happy with my footie team, which doesn't help my mental stability. Ha!

Gotta go, oven food is ready.

Have a relaxing day.

My best wishes to you all as always.

Just too lazy to bother, as the endless holidays, non cobra attendances, etc, etc, etc.

But at least he got all the big decisions right .. :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
He and the other jesters were following the science!
That was ********. According to him. Or could it be he had no ******** and following the boss wife's science?
It will all come out! Hope his ******** don't!!!!!
Had enough of the ******** from every jester this last decade.

Don't let the injustice of our lives get to you too much. There are all sorts of little joys we can get out of life, Lamont.

I actually think it's hilarious!
And how it was no surprise when it was revealed.
And the great facade of the English elite, are at last found out for what they are all about!

We have now been confirmed as the laughing stock of the world.

Fbg this morning was 7.4.

Had jabs yesterday nocked me for six been sick as a dog since in fact have spent most of today in bed all I had for dinner last night was an oxo cube in a cup of hot water all I have eaten today is a bowl of tomato soup blood sugars now 7.5 hope to get back on track tomorrow.

Good morning everyone from another bright, sunny yet chilly start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.7 this am. We were out with family early evening, they are up in the Land of the Prince Bishops for the weekend staying with daughter in law’s mum. So, a Thai restaurant owned by friends of our daughter in law. A small place with a small menu of some wonderfully authentic Thai food. Good to see the grandchildren who told us their plans for when they come up for Halloween. The Ninky Nonks are both going to dress as skeletons and Little Miss Pamplemousse as either Harley Quinn or Wednesday (you will have to look them up if you are not with the ‘it’ crowd of seven year olds). Art bit, another starter for 10. I hope your day is sailing fair to the wind. I need some koffy.

Interesting sketch @dunelm

Morning all from a dry, bright, crystal clear but cold L.A.. Rugby shirt and thermoreg top combo, jeans and socks cold but not base layer cold. @Krystyna23040 hug for Mr K feeling off colour and for you missing the walk but also being so caring. @lindisfel hopefully you too are just feeling the impact of the vaccination. @gennepher hug for whatever made yesterday so bad but winner for the creative. @dunelm the meal and chance to see loved ones sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing the latest starter for 10. @Annb I hope yourself and Neil are feeling better today.Today's theme here is hedonism. Sourdough toast (37 gms) with Rillettes du Mans and a third huge mug of Assam tea to take tablets at 10.00 am then Wagyu brisket for main meal, possibly while watching the rugby. I may even manage to endure a hot chocolate (almond milk, cream, Lidl Dutch processed cocoa) with brandy and a keto cookie or doughnut. It is Sunday which even in Lent is a feast day so why not? Have the best day you can.
Thank you @ianpspurs for creative compliment

Thank you @ianpspurs.
Hope you enjoyed the result and wagyu brisket. Mr K really enjoyed the rugby and we had wagyu beefburgers for lunch.

Beef was splendid and the rugby result made things even better thank you. Even managed to make some speculoos - ground the cardamon myself in the pestle and mortar. Hope the wagyu beefburgers were good. Were they the Aldi ones? Hopefully Mr K is feeling better. Shame the cricket was so bad.

Yes, they were the Aldi ones and they were delicious. Hope your speculoos were also delicious.

Mr K is feeling a lot better. A more restful day has definitely helped.

Mr K is watching more rugby this evening which means I can relax and read and catch up with posts.

The best of it, what a sick joke it was putting Boris in as Prime Minister.
We have some brilliant scientists, engineers and skilled workers in this Country of ours I would hate to see them sold short.

Marjorie seems to have got classic symptoms after flu jab. She has a sore throat and has been gargling to help it. Perhaps a bottle of whiskey would be better?
Otherwise she is still having to take stemetil for her balance problem and is not driving yet.

I seem to have got through the jab ok.

I hope John Green feels better soon after being double jabbed and feeling poorly.

Have a good night folks.

You have to remember a big part of number ten, was the current idiot running it now!
I do believe that many of the boffins are testifying and it isn't the version that Boris and co are trying to sell or hide!
at least some of the partygoers have now received fines.
