Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Thanks so much @aylalake I feel so much better than I did 6 months ago, I must say!

@IanBish - yay, the 16s! That is brilliant and a pound off is still a pound off, you will probably lose more next week.

Well done @MissMuffett that is a great loss this week and thank you for your encouragement too.

We are crushing it folks!

That is a lot of crisps - well done on your loss this week, Callyandy!

Commiserations @filly that must be so frustrating for you, I hope it improves next week.

Well done @aylalake - yes, there comes a point when it slows down, that is when patience is required - you are right about the inches though, and well done on feeling your rib cage, I still can't feel mine.

Woo-hoo @bolingbroke - that is brilliant, you are doing so well, it must feel so much better.

Well, I lost another 3lbs this week, which is quite a surprise as this week has been fairly stressful and stress usually messes with my system. Anyway, I will take it! I have been dieting for 6 months now and over that time I have lost 68.5lbs. Probably another 6 months at least to go though, le sigh.
Seriously impressive weightloss!! Bravo!

That's good to hear, @LeafyArts.

Thank you. I'm sure I will, but if I don't I'll just keep on carrying on. As someone said, it's a marathon, not a sprint.

But well done everyone. Whether it's an ounce or a few pounds, we're going in the right direction.

Only 0.5lb this week! Note to self ‘Must try harder’ Although my BG was 5.7 this morning. Getting out of the habit of eating too much and wanting something to eat around 9pm is very hard especially as I’ve been doing it for years!

Hope everyone is doing well

@MissMuffett It's sad that we have to assess the diference between wanting and needing a "snack". You're doing really well, so don't beat yourself up!

82.2 this morning, .9 down on last week, that's 16.6 kg over 15 weeks, or 83 packs of maryland choc chip cookies;)

Well done to all this week, keep up the good work.

About the same as you. A couple of hundred yards more in my weight loss marathon run, with plenty more to go.

Well done, that's almost two pounds. I wonder what yardstick you'll be using next week.

No change this week 92.4.
I am on antibiotics for an infection and also testing various foods so I am absolutely not disappointed. In fact, I thought it would be higher.
Another 1/2 inch off my stomach so that’s a win.

Hi everyone! I am a bit late today, had to rush off to work early this morning and ran out of time to update.

Half a pound off is still a loss @MissMuffett and I know what you mean about the evening munchies, it is my hardest time of day too.

@callyandy that is a great loss this week too and can you imagine eating all those cookies? I do love to see how you measure the weight with various foodstuffs, it makes me laugh!

Every yard on that marathon counts, @IanBish at least you are still in the race and that is the important thing.

Sorry you are ill @aylalake I hope the antibiotics are helping (you too @MissMuffett ). Yes, I think illness does upset the system, so that is probably why no change this week. Hopefully more next week. Half an inch off the stomach is great!

I lost 2lbs this week and with only 5 weeks to Christmas, that makes me on target for a certain goal I have set myself. Just got to keep on the straight and narrow.

Winner winner Christmas dinner!

Thank you for your good wishes.

I’m on antibiotics too @aylalake i didn’t think this could have an affect on the weight loss. ;)
I don’t think it’s the medicine per se, rather than the infection messing with BG and the knock on effect. But I am guessing, and I am sure members way more knowledgeable than me will chime in.
I am using it as my excuse anyway ;)

I hope you recover quickly, too.

whoops, didn't log in last week :(

This week the scales say I've lost 0.15kg on the week.

Think I'm in a horrible stall, even though I've been having quite a few 22/24hr fasts. Feel another 24hr fast might be coming along tomorrow just to try and fix my stubborn body.

There must be advice out there about the plateau effect... you're certainly not the only one this has happened to. Good luck with you're fix, the total weight loss is really impressive!

Well, it seems like most of us have plateaued a bit this week. Maybe our bodies know that Christmas is imminent, and is getting ready to put on weight!

Who knows? But I'm going to try to work out what's happening (with me).

But we've mainly lost a bit of weight, at least, so we should take comfort from that.

How frustrating to be in such a stall @JenniferM55 - when that happens I try to switch things up a bit to confuse my body (lost 100 twice in the past, so I know it happens), I vary my diet, vary my eating windows or vary my exercise, so I think a fast is a good idea. Let us know how it works, so we can try it when it happens to us.

Sorry about the wee gain this week @filly - it is only small, so I hope you keep on track and it will be gone next week, hopefully with another pound or two!

Yay, well done @EllieM for breaking the 72kg barrier, I do love it when that happens. Just keep moving forward and do your best to stay under, but bodies are fickle things and do what they want, when they want! I will be crossing my fingers for you.

You are right, @IanBish this time of year is harder to lose weight, I think I become slightly less active and there is something about all those lovely autumn foods that begin to tempt me. Plus, I am certain my body seems to think that it needs to put fat down to keep me going over a lean winter. It doesn't understand that I have supermarkets these days and I don't have to forage for berries/nuts to keep me alive!

Do you test your BG @JenniferM55? I know if my BG is higher than normal it’s almost impossible to lose weight. Don’t forget fasting can put your body into stress mode and your body might think it has to store energy (ie glucose) because it thinks lean times are ahead. Have you tried muscle toning exercises? It doesn’t have to be intense but I’ve heard this can improve weight loss.
Just look back to how well you’ve done and a huge accomplishment

The only hunting I do is to locate the nearest supermarket (which doesn't move very far) and the only gathering I do is to put stuff in the basket, pay for it, and carry it home. I do try and explain all this to my metabolism, but to avail, it seems... ;)

Someone once said to me (I forget who), "don't try and diet during the winter months, your body will fight you all the way..."
