You're right. It does look somewhat Islamic and as beautiful as most Islamic decorative work.Probably better if I had put the a in Masjid![]()
I do hope you do get used to them. They are good. Expensive but good!!!Ah, your post gives me some hope @Lamont D
Thanks.
I have always worn glasses for reading since my 20's when I did a lot of close work illustrating books. But long distance was fine.
These varifocals are very very expensive. Had to use credit card.
Not had my winter fuel payment yet. It won't be used for fuel (my central heating broke down last year), but to pay for these essential glasses.
I got the so called two for one offer. But they are only making up one pair to make sure I can get used to them. She said it would take a week. And if I can get used to them, they will make up the second pair which is the same but as tinted Polaroid lenses especially for driving this time of year with that horrible low sun glare.
Thanks again.
I meant to say, that my counsellors are based in the hospital on the same floor as the cataract operations are done. I see the patients lined up, before and after every week.@gennepher
A while ago I had cataracts in both eyes the NHS waiting list was quite long but the NHS funded treatment at a private clinic which shortened the waiting time considerably though they only financed one cataract so now only have a cataract in my left eye.
Thanks @Lamont DI do hope you do get used to them. They are good. Expensive but good!!!
Have you arranged some alternatives if you don't?
And you need the tinted pair.
Mine are tinted and darken in direct sunlight and I read in the sun in my garden without a problem.
Hence so expensive!I
it's always coincidental, my screw in the frame became loose and I've had to pay a quick visit to my opticians this morning.
6.4 this morning.
Been doing too much again, chores and trying to sort out financial issues, so many phone calls.
Can't afford nowt! Cold weather payment, not in bank yet.
Having to review Christmas cash and pressies for kids and grandkids.
Think I might have to rob a bank. But is there one near enough now?
Changing bus routes around here again, bloody companies are taking the lash.
CAn get two buses to the city through the tunnel. But can't get a bus to our own bus station, if we need another local bus to relatives a couple of miles away. Madness!
Gove blaming everyone else, or blathering avoiding the question.
Beautiful and colourful.Fbg 7.1
Obviously the stress of yesterday...
Yesterday got wiped out for me for getting things and creative started.
Today I need some rest and peace and quiet and equilibrium.
So, no time for a drawing today. So I did a kaleidoscope of a wall hanging in my bedroom.

Cat Midnight watches Fox & Badger
This fox is the one I named Foxy Loxy from last year, and the badger is Boy Badger (this year's son of Pa Badger).

Time for a cuppa and a nap...
Have your best day for you.

Lucky you!Thanks @Lamont D
Alternatives?
The opticians will have to change them into something different. Already told them this.
But fingers crossed!
I do birthday presents, but no Xmas presents now. I stopped a few years ago!!!
No idea yet, Helen makes her own fermented yogurt from full fat milk and a culture. Meanwhile I have cut down with food.Gut biome restorer - it’s all the rage. What concoctions do you use? My 30 plants a week starts with a small daily cocktail consisting of Inulin (prebiotic) mixed with kefir, live yoghurt, chia seeds and a few nuts or seed (different each day). I also consume kimchi and sauerkraut very regularly. Do you keep up with Zoe and Tim Spector et al?

On Wednesday, London and Kent could see a dusting of snowfall, with Met Office maps showing 5mm of snow is expected in and around Greater Manchester, the Pennines and East Lancashire overnight into Wednesday. Aberdeenshire is expected to land more than 5mm.
That despite £ms spent on computers to forecast weather. £ms spent on infrastructure (or wasted HS2).Afternoon team D...(doc martens league)
All good here.
Still not got back to testing
But ribs healing nicely now, still hurts to cough/sneeze but moving around is much much better ...so today's my first outing proper since tumble.**
Btw, Just seen the shocking news about the upcoming weather.
So off out to buy emergency supplies for when London shuts down & moving around the city becomes impossible.
I pray we all survive down here the coming Armageddon...
Send help people of the north*

** Off to meet daughter for a late pub lunch
Be safe, you lovely people
I'll raise my first glass in your honour.
Not gonna peruse, as the footie starts soon.John Crace in the Guardian is worth reading today. There are some NSFW words in there so I won't link the piece. It is dark, cold and UK Plc is heading to the other place (no, not Oxford) in a handcart at breakneck speed so take your laughs where you can. No mention of Jimmy Dimly and his slurry misspeak in this one.

He's good at acerbic wit. If you liked that you'd like Marina Hyde. Probably not her best today but spot on about Charles Moore stiffening Trolley's resolve over trying to save Paterson leading to his downfall. If anything she is usually more witty.Read that good laugh but so near the truth.
