What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I don’t know I’m afraid. It’s not usually found with the prepacked cheeses in supermarkets but it might be available if there’s a deli counter, otherwise a proper cheese shop. ( sadly rare as hens teeth)
Maybe others on here who live up north can answer?
A cheese thread is a great idea!
I can't say that I've seen Cornish Yarg on the cheese deli counters near us. It certainly won't be in supermarkets. I'll be heading to Dobbies later this week, and their food hall has a proper deli counter. I'll have a look.

I'm miles behind. I've been knocked for six with this cold, in between desperately trying to do everything for Christmas! On a quick scan, though, congratulations, @PenguinMum and @Annb, I was glad to read that your DIL is through the operation. I wish her well for recovery. I faced a similar situation. I was told that if I didn't have surgery, I'd be in a wheelchair within 5 years. The surgery would give me a chance. I have a permanent crutch, but I'm still walking 16 years on.

We used to do the same thing but with Cheddar and without the cream. It was my husband's favourite way of having cabbage although I found the Cheddar a bit much after a while. Maybe if we'd used cream ...? But that was years ago when we thought cream was a wickedness too far.

Isn’t it great to be able to eat cream again? I reckon my husband would really like your way too, I must remember to try it.

Monday 27 November - bed 7.9 FBG 7.6. Birthday well and truly over. No Aqua today. I would have needed oxygen!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with egg mayo. Benecol dairy free.

L. A bit of crustless quiche

D. Crispy sea bass with stir-fried tomatoes, sprouts, and mushrooms. CC Little chocolate pot.

I was back to tutoring grandson with his math. He had a lot of homework to get through. It will take a few days. Still managed to drive youngest grandson to swimming training (and back later). Weather is ghastly.

Tuesday 28 November - bed 7.8 FBG 7.5. Usual school runs. I feel your pain, @DJC3. We have roadworks here, there, and everywhere. I'm trying to avoid Edinburgh. That's a nightmare currently.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with egg mayo on one, cheese & onion on the other. Benecol dairy free.

L. A bit of crustless quiche.

D. 3 chicken drumsticks & coleslaw. It had to be quick as I was on taxi duty with youngest grandson again. Basketball this time (but that is the final session niw).
On return from taxi duties, CC little chocolate pot.
Gin and soda (to ease my throat!)20231127_185751.jpg

Wednesday 29 November - bed 8 FBG 7.7. Still struggling with this bug. Boys are here for dinner, but I'll manage

Actually, I made some progress with Christmas shopping (online) once I got the boys home.

2 scrambled eggs before a planned walk that got rerouted to the nearest cafe as the weather was atrocious. Cwc.
L: 4 cold chipolatas

A nice family afternoon putting the decorations up. Did have 2 of the mini stollen boy brought. It's a family tradition to have the first of christmas goodies while putting the tree up. I should have thought to get my own treats from the freezer but 30+ years of tradition/habit meant it never crossed my mind.

D: pork chop cooked with mushrooms, cream and a splash of sherry. Served with carrots and red cabbage . Boys has roasties. Small scoop coffee ice cream.

I have a couple of Libres stashed away. Thinking I do need to wear one over Christmas so I don't slip too often. Just deciding when to start it as the run up has a fair few parties and events.
Omg, just checked my diary and I have events featuring food on 6 out of the next 7 days. Think it had better go on tonight!

Late back from school run as I got caught in a blizzard! Very unusual for these parts and no roads gritted. Needed strong coffee when I got home. Then an early lunch of a small sirloin steak and fried eggs.
Mid aft h/m yoghurt with blueberries and seeds.
Dinner locally caught lemon sole (with crispy skin @maglil55 ) with lemon butter, steamed cavolo nero and celeriac. Montezuma’s absolute black with almonds and cup of tea to follow.
@Annb keeping fingers crossed for your DIL View attachment 64642
I'm planning on getting some sole for boxing day. I'll be stuffing it with some kind of prawn mix, rolling, and wrapping in wilted lettuce. I'll come up with some kind of sauce. My brain is starting to function again as far as planning festive meals are concerned anyway.

Evenin’ all - we miss you George D. Been dealing with some tummy issues and JKP’s hearing ( both all solved) visiting relatives, laying wreaths on graves, collecting grandchildren, and attending their concerts in Cathedrals and school halls. Result has been no real meals. Tired, hungry and very cold - my honest usual winter experience of LC - can’t lie about this. More sensible food day today.
Tea and Advent calendar cheese - 15 gms
Smashed avo (big M and S one), scrambled egg (3 X large) on KC toast for brunch
CWC etc with triple choc crunch Adonis bar
Meatballs slow cooked in passata, celeriac mash and creamed spinach, water. I've honestly taken more photos posting food pics here than all the time I've had a phone or camera. @shelley262 glad you liked the pasta - I use NLCK.

I've got the NLCK pasta as well. I've used some in my "curative" chicken soup, but there will be a pasta dish this week. I've also ordered more than a few packs of the very LC pastry from KC this evening (Sunday) which will be frozen before being turned into mincemeat pies and black porkies sausage rolls in a few weeks! I've ordered a few other things too.

Perhaps I ought to know this but what is NLCK? I really would like to find a LC product that I could use but so far I haven't found one I can tolerate.

Sounds v tasty. Do you wear latex gloves while preparing it? I find the smell of raw fish just lingers on my hands no matter how many times I wash them. For that reason I only ever slap fish in a pan or baking dish - minimal handling! And we only have it on Tues because the bin men come Wed so I can chuck all the bones etc out.
Glad you are starting to fire on all cylinders again. You’ve been through it recently.

Hi All
So back to Saturday (I need the thread “what have you eaten yesterday and today” lol.
Brekkie usual slice LC toast, copious tea.
Lunch was Baron Brie and small salad. Tea.
Supper Chicken Shaslik (Waitrose) and Roasted Med veg.
Yesterday same brekkie.
Lunch was scrambled eggs.
Supper was King Prawns with ginger & spring onion and pak choi.
@DJC3 that Parmesan Cream would be great with shredded sprouts I imagine and make them less “sprouty”!
@maglil55 really like your Boxing Day menu. Glad you’re feeling so much better. So many horrible lurgies going around atm.

Cooked bacon for Em's breakfast but she didn't finish it so I did. About half a rasher. I was going to make bacon and eggs for myself, but not really hungry, so I'm not bothering.

Main meal will be lamb chops, Brussels sprouts (shredded and braised) and will have to include the 6 mushroom that I baked yesterday to have with the steak. There were 12 in the punnet so I baked them all and ate half of them. See, even though I am vaguely innumerate, I can do sums!
