There is some great sayings in Scouse, howler in the jowler!

Alright der kidda! Yer no wot I mean?
Have a good un!

A timely post I spotted, given the season...

I never make New Year resolutions then you can be pleasantly surprised by the results.

Like I may get up to Bowscale Tarn and catch sight of the immortal fish that are supposed to swim there?
You can see where the cirque glacier was towards the end of the ice age over ten thousand years ago. The glacial spoil formed a bank that the riverlet cuts through as runs down to the Caldew, as it goes on it's way to Carlisle.
It's straight out of Tolkien and in Spring you hear the monotonous song of the Ring Ouzel.

Continue on the narrow road the other side of the valley is a pot in the Caldew where we saw our friends kids baptised after jumping in.
Going further along this valley through the middle of the northern fells one comes up to Skiddaw house in the middle of nowhere.

Have your best year friends, after a great day today.

I keep saying I must do some art work, but its not a resolution.
D.

Morning all on a wet but mild for early January start here in East Anglia cum the land of the free and the home of the brave. I don't know my fbg but after quickly skim reading @jjraak's linked article that may well be good. However, I have poured over my fitbit health metrics and rated myself on trip adviser :banghead: - not a PB but pretty good for where I'm at. @lindisfel and @JohnEGreen interesting points about NY resolutions. Derek, your post being natural world based gave me pause but fortunately I had read the attached from the C of E earlier and am happy with my list being much more person/relationship centred - don't get hung up on the Magi. There is , though, a fine line between this attitude and arrogant, self centred unthinking rudeness that isn't love for others (my fundamental gripe with the Brexiter mindset and the current iteration of the Blue Team) On the whole I'm with Jess but prepared to listen carefully when I'm told my Johari window needs a good clean.

Good morning everyone on a clear morning here in the dark and dangerous north. I have made a firm decision not to make a list of firm decisions as at this time of year, any list of such topics, for the most part, seem to be not that firm at all. I might do a bit of endeavouring though. So, 1 thing - and not a New Year’s Resolution but a sensible thing after the excesses over the past few weeks - “cut down on yer carbs again.” Art bit, something - another thing, to be continued. I have a couple of paintings on the go but they are just experiments of the same thing. And this doodle. Hope you all have a pleasant day, no snow bombing - just photo bombing. Best have a koffy.

I need to be a recluse again...badly...I have disconnected the doorbell, locked the gate,

Any one I need/or I have authorised to gain entry will have instructions to text me from the door when they arrive. It is the system I used to have years ago after I had a spate of rogue callers. Anyone else can go and whistle up .......

Nighttime wildlife videos
Cats Midnight & Merlin & Jade & the Fox & that infernal destructive Badger.
The badger had previously, moments earlier, chewed through the ropes at the back of the swing which is why he pulled the cloths off so easily. All you see in the earlier clips is the swing rocking, apparently by itself, but it is the badger doing his evil deed at the back of the swing.
I have a plan to try and stop him, but I think he will just chew through wire as well.

Creative...just sending love with a kaleidoscope.

Have your best day.

A kitchen clean up calls...

Good happy Tuesday Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
It’s as stated a Tuesday therefore Loretta is let out to play.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.5 . Like others me, me’s and myself must get back in control, but I have found out mince pies are not a health food, me, me’s and myself wanted to write mince tarts, but seeing the word tart could cause offence and it’s my pandering to woke day, Loretta wrote pies instead.

Vicious stares as stated by a few, Mrs J has a kill at a glance chip installed and it’s best avoided. You have been warned.

Looking at the weather forecast for today fishnet stockings, white socks, trainers and a crop top might not be a good choice of clothes.

Stay safe all, stay dry, above all else, always look on the bright side of life.
Time to go and apply nail varnish.

Loretta

Edit @gennepher, your builders sound like builders from hell, I would have been sorely tempted to hasten their journey, I have a big crowbar and it’s clean, the blood has been wiped off from previous outings.

I ended up as I said, connecting the app to the boiler something which these so called boiler engineers could not do.

Then one of them said a bit more, thinking it would placate me I assume..."For your age you very competent on computers" And the other one said the same. I walked slowly towards them, and they began backing out of the bungalow saying the same words. Then they fled to their van.

Strange how they suddenly acquired some command of English by the end of the day, when they would not answer questions earlier in the day or speak any English to me, or even allow me to go to the toilet but waved me away without speaking any English to me when I asked them to clear the toilet and bathroom of their equipment so I could use it.

I have friend who is writing my complaint out for me, I have given her everything I wrote during the day and the stuff I put in my post on Sunday.

I'm very good at writing reams and reams, but to make a precis/extract the relevant stuff, I cannot see the wood for the trees. It is one of my faiings. But my friend is very good at extracting the right information from what I have written.

She has just sent the first draft of the letter of complaint to me...
Yes, very strange how they suddenly acquired some command of English by the end of the day.
Really good @gennepher that you were able to connect the app to the boiler - especially when the so called boiler engineers couldn't do it.

There was so much that went badly wrong that even your friends precis will probably be quite long.

I like the sound of Mrs J's kill at a glance chip installed @alf_Josiah
I am perfecting that technique but I am adding to it...'wither away into ash' is my style...no evidence...

Thank you Alf for your lovely offer of the wiped clean instrument....

Yes it was @Krystyna23040

Thank you. Yes, I am a fast learner in figuring out internetty app stuff...

My friend's précis will still be shorter than my ramblings...

Before Christmas I spent a lot on my Octavia, a big service, cam belt change and consequenceals including MOT.
The tyres only 1mm and the were from new after 45000 miles. Its running had been faultless.
I drove it three miles home ater tyre change and it rested, like the Almighty.
The day after boxing day we took it to Lidl grocery shopping three miles. Then we went back home and coming out of Wigton the clutch pedal dropped down and stayed on the carpet the servo on the drive to the clutch had gone! I imagine some careless person fixed a pipe good and proper. I drove it home with out a clutch because I knew how to do it. Two clear turns left.
The problem came when I got through the Z bend across the river I put into first and put the right winker on in our narrow road.
Some idiot behind decided to over take this stupid old man ss I turned into my drive and came up my hill to the cottage and there it stands until green flag takes it to my garage not opened since before Christmas until tomorrow.

5.5 this morning. Last day of my holiday.

It has been lovely to have that extra time to look at new stuff. Have got some really interesting new exercises for classes tomorrow - which makes it interesting for me as well as class members.

The park is beginning to turn into a quagmire with all this rain. The good thing is that there are lots of puddles to clean my boots in. I do love splashing around in puddles.
