What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Interesting that the old battery was not even sufficient to enable all normal functions for your vehicle. Still, you can enjoy your car now to its full potential (hopefully). Lovely kaleidoscope.
The car and 12v battery were only 6 months old!
Well, the car has more potential now, at least....
Thank you for the kaleidoscope compliment @dunelm

Morning all from a very cold black bin cum washing cum chicken casserole day here in L.A. Lab results are in and according to the guidance all seem to be in standard range. Fbg was a horrendous* 5.6 but I'm a tad sub-optimal atm. I await Prof Eisen's wise words on the morrow. Diabetic eye test yesterday because I said please keep me on the register - they are fun for few hrs afterwards. I slept for about an hour. @gennepher thanks so much for the last two kaleidoscopes and I hope there aren't many more surprises on that dashboard. @jjraak long time since I heard that song , thanks. - I like Arthur's theme more - which is now an earworm. A potential window of opportunity has hoved into view so JKP, #3 son and myself will investigate further on Saturday. Y'all take care now stay warm and hydrated.
* for me and my purposes - thanks @alf_Josiah and see later post
Thank you very much Ian.

Good morning everyone on a damp start to our International Bin Day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.5 this morning but I am feeding my gut biome and turning myself into a very efficient biodigester in order to save on heating bills. We used to build biodigesters in East Africa out of a couple of oil drums and connect to salvages petrol engines to drive Posho Mills. They are used to grind maize into Ungali flour. Visit to the Painless Pole today for a tooth tapping check up and to reenact that scene from the film Marathon Man - ouch! Art bit, an exercise of sunrise/sunset or even both - can’t decide which - these things just happen. Will be doing another two to compare and using the same two colours. Hope your day goes well - well, to the right of the bell curve mean at least. I have drunk my Kody so best do some exercises.

Wonderful art so thanks for sharing kind sir. Kody? Less German milk needed although that's usually not for morning unless you're a rock star or aging Hollywood A lister. I'm pretty sure you will take it black anyhow. I guess the Painless Pole is not so painless come payment time. Not sure how I missed this earlier although there sometimes seems to be an afternoon delivery - not to be confused with the Starland Vocal Band ;) (Johnnie Walker's still going)

Had a guick breakfast of two eggs and then a spoon full of natural yoghurt. Not much but good for me.

Then upstairs to put the Christmas tree bits in a box we shall keep it here to keep out the way of the plumber, In its box at the back of of the Den, where one's eyes are drawn to the view in all my posts. Then into the upstairs bedroom to open up the bottom loft door (half door) I put on years ago.
I took all the ceiling down in this room twenty years ago and revealed all the beams. made lagged and plastered a new ceiling plastered all the vertical surfaces all round myself. I had tried my hand at plastering for.years and I got a good cottage finish.

It was too warm for a room we are not using and heater had been turned off. But wasn't, I knew I could it be was simple. Two dead wood mice were taken from the loft. Traps given more cheese loads of currents all over. I quickly put them in newspaper and shut the door Mental note, use my Industrial vac just inside loft little door to clean up another day, and then we have a new tell tale of mice.

Sanibest macerator toilet working perfectly when I tested they are a human waste mincer and can put human waste up hill through a narrow pipe to the sewer vent pipe.
I am getting a mini bath to be put in upstate it's by a plumber.... hope soon.

No room for shower, ceiling too low, just room for a mini bath.

Some planned work on the ensuite, before planned work on bathroom work downstairs.as to be done before the downstairs is changed from a bath with to walk in shower it's now unsatis factory as a bath and a shower.

Will have to put a door on upstairs ensuite. Abigail insists on privacy when in there.

And one male in the family thinks men on tractors are looking at him through the small window...playschool quote, and women on horses can see in through the windows.
Laugh at myself made a joke it was kids black hole of Calcutta joke.

I am friendly with one woman horse rider and would hate to be given a shock

. She brought us free eggs in the pandemic.
I'll put a blind up that almost is always rolled, is up for us, the room is bathed in sunlight as it crosses the window in the morning.
I already have put the wood in years ago, for double doors that fit neatly against both walls

A new xpelair quality fan already wired in existing hole filled to stop wasps that got in the cavity.

The radiator on the wall took the temperature to high for the lowest temperature control knob. Put to correct and put the knob in the right heat it was and put on in the right place. Problem. Fixed.

Had to come up to collect mice package later

Good, for months I could not get up stairs, you just have to feel well and fight, not all of requiring the strength of youth.

Here is the after. Have told him it needs insulation and a mini pot boiler as well, but he is more concerned that it needs windowsills. Admittedly it does leak a little under the windows, so he has a point.View attachment 65464
That would be just perfect for my sewing and craft room (with the relevant insulation etc):)

Looks the bees knees and I agree with both of you - windowsills, then insulation (including floor) and then a nice little pot boiler - flat top for heating water and pot-au-feu.

Thank you @ianpspurs - no milk in koffy but a yes for breakfast tea - we are British after all whatever that now means - moving feast old chap. In and out from the Painless Pole - sticker for being a good boy and £25.80 for the privilege. Does low carb mean less tooth damage - maybe.

6.5 at 0415 today. That's about where I want to be but the price is to be hungry for much of the time.

Leg rebandaging day today but my appointment is 2 hours later than usual so there's not so much rushing around this morning. Also late having my shower because it's cold and I'm waiting for the radiators to warm up a bit more. Sky is fairly clear, so there's been no insulating cloud cover overnight.

Hot water with lemon doesn't seem to do much to brighten my morning so I am missing my cups of tea. However, needs must ...&tc. Breakfast will brighten things up a bit - once I've braved the chilly shower room.

Brilliant @Annb with your 6.5

Had to arrange the bloods for my upcoming HBA1c test.

Local hospital used to be roll up take ticket & wait your turn.
Now it's pre book & then roll up & wait

So I Booked, got there ...forgot the GP bit authorising blood test.. :banghead:

Back home, fetch sheet, rebook, roll up & wait.

All done, but while I was waiting my eye tests blood results came through ..nothing untoward, but once again they've rejigged the NHS (?) app, and it reads down into previous test results ..cool.

Spot my B12, as I've talking about such recently .

Hadn't noticed last year's had me (up from 225-337 post dx to late 2019) at 447....obv due to no Metformin, just had too much on, what with one thing & another to take yet another med.

So good to know for me, it's not the T2D causing the shortfall or my age AND the supplements can help recover somewhat from pretty low numbers.

Quite chuffed by that and it's given me a little lift ....nice

Then we worked outside briefly and had lunch and one and hour sleep after lunch.

Daughter coming up today to help us. She still works some though she is properly retired and a pensioner.
They are staying at a farm that has three stays in one building and are superbly equipped fully heated and with excellent views. One of many, cost for week about two nights in a Premier Inn for a comfortable week.

Only snag, a big one, if it snows they will be towing them in out with a tractor.

There is no way a normal car with all its fabled properties will get down the farm road to the beck and get up their hill to the farm. Its a long but difficult drive, you need one that converts to a rally car.

They would at least have to put chains or straps on. That's not funny after 45

It will be great having her and her partner with us for the week. They have a day at Keswick, are booked at the Lakeside with a big nearby car park, food and entertainment, if it's clear the mountains will be special.
D.
