What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a wet L.A. on a packed diary day: the Feast of the conversion of St Paul, Burns Night, Test match cricket in India, bin day and unwanted clothes collection - exhausting. @dunelm did you request a shingles jab or was it freely offered? Congratulations on the A1c and thanks for sharing the splendid art. @Krystyna23040 shame about the reason but good news on being able to work from home and that fbg. Even though haggis is sausage and carby I will have some. It may well be gut friendly with all that offal and fibre but in truth no one actually knows what to eat for the best. @Annb I hope bandaging goes well and the haggis is a triumph. Enjoy Thursday everyone - even if only some parts thereof.
Haggis was not a triumph. It wasn't very haggissy. I reduced the amount of pepper - perhaps by too much, and I used coconut flour instead of the normal grain found in normal haggis, so it tasted of coconut, which a haggis shouldn't. It was edible however so all's well.

Been trying all afternoon to sort out my online access to my bank account but no joy. Tried their automated chat - no use at all and tried their telephone support and they couldn't figure out what was wrong (I did get rid of all cookies, cache and so on, in case it was that, but no use). I have realised though, that while the cash machine this morning did give me cash using my debit card, the bank seems to have lost the link between my card number and my account number. I wanted to pay some money into Neil's account (he's buying something for me on E-bay) so I've had to give him cash and he will go to the bank tomorrow to pay it in (he refuses to use online banking - security not tight enough for him). I'll go with him and try to get the local bank to sort it out.

This site is acting a bit strange as well - it tells me that there are more posts to read since I opened the thread, I click on it and there's nothing extra. It does that quite often.

Shame about the bank issues. I do like the word haggissy. New children's cartoon series Haggissy McHggisface? Cash? Apart from a couple of pound coins kept in the car for supermarket trollies I haven't used that since before lockdown#1.

Haggissy McHaggisface. I like that idea. Not sure my cartooning skills are up to it.

Good morning everyone on a less windy start to International Bin Day and the “ Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face, Great chieftain o the puddin'-race day” here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.7 just before 6am but rising. Shingles jab yesterday - transpires that it is a two part jab, each part 8 days apart and the ingredients need mixing in a syringe that has a needle longer than the beak of a Curlew. It was like a cookery lesson quickly followed by one of those expensive “experiences” in the hands of The Spanish Inquisition. I’m looking forward to the second part - people pay a lot of money for this sort of thing. A1c results came in at 40 which is a nice surprise knowing what festive titbits were sampled during December and into the new year. Art bit - more trees vicar? Don’t mind if I do. Hope your day is less breezy both indoors and out. I shall drink koffy but better put the bin out first.

Internet working okay this morning...

Cat Jade and just Foxy Loxy this night...no one else visited

Creative...yesterday I cleared an untidy table, found blank postcards, and some fountain pens. I scribbled with no intent or meaning on one card with the black fountain pen....I just wanted to find out if they still worked. This one did. Then I sprayed it with water...and my thought, when it dried, was, hey I like this...

I might try a few more in the next few days...

Have your best day

The dawn is breaking, the sky is lightening...

And I am going to make a fresh cuppa...

Couple of years ago Neil bought himself a new mattress. The fumes from it were so awful, we had to shut it in another room and leave it to air itself. Neil is particularly sensitive to fumes anyway but even I was aware of the smell even with the door shut. It took about a month before he felt able to put it on his bed.

BG at 0400 was 7.4. Up to 8.5 by 0800 on the strength of a cup of hot water and some painkillers.

Tried my bank account again and it hasn't fixed itself, so town again today it is. Weather's not so great for going out - windy and wet - but I daresay we'll survive.

Well that scribbling and water spray worked out well. Reminds me of Mandelbrot sets. I suppose if we had a powerful enough microscope, that is maybe what happens at some level.

Good morning everyone on a beautifully sunny and breezy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. A flat line 6 at 0700 - was it the Burns Supper - we may never know. Disaaaaster daaarhlings - yesterday I dropped my ancient and very precious koffy mug come cup which shattered into an unknown number of pieces. Luckily I got it all cleaned up and into the bin. I have noticed recently that my fingers sometimes just do their own thing, sometimes locking up and going into a sulk. My typing is also suffering. I was taught to touch type for transcription (morse into type) and working teleprinters. Now, I would fail at even 40 WPM. Still, the day looks promising and I will have a wander in the sun for a bit of vitamin D - mornings are best as its circadian. Mrs Miggins will be back from Prague this evening so I ought to wipe a flannel over my face. Art bit, some trees influenced by both Mr Mondrian and the views over the river where my parents live. Hope your day is not so butter fingers as mine was yesterday. I need to finish my koffy in my newly appointed koffy mug.

Absolutely great Art Bit, but a hug for the precious coffee cup @dunelm

5.6 this morning. Had a really good day yesterday. Did absolutely loads of admin and then the classes on Zoom went really well. Today I will have time to lesson plan for next week and work on new exercises as well as relax and read and drink coffee.

We kept well away from the trees in the park as it was really blowing a hoolie on the early morning walk with Poppy.

Internet's playing me up
Poor connection...

Wildlife nighttime video
A very busy night - Cats & Badgers & Foxes...
...

...& a nasty bl/wh tom cat who had viciously attacked my elderly cat Popeye 4 years ago, inside my kitchen, as I opened the door to take the rubbish out of my kitchen to the wheelie. He had charged into the kitchen unexpectedly like a ball of intense fury...
Popeye had needed antibiotics and treatment in the first Covid lockdown (2020) when we were not allowed to access any of those facilities. And this incident happened despite me keeping my nearly 30 year old cat Popeye safe under supervision and indoors.

This is (on the nighttime trail cam) my first sighting of this nasty tom cat since 2020.

Creative...a kaleidoscope...of the first shot from my bed...

I am going offline now until tomorrow...

Have your best day

Time for lunch...

Was that really 4 years ago @gennepher . - quite scary just how fast time flies by. It was a really horrible cat to do that to the lovely Popeye.
