What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I now have my new tablets - Candersartan. All sorts of warnings on the leaflet about not taking it if you are diabetic, or on thyroxine, or have liver problems, or are taking ACE inhibitors, without consulting a doctor but I suppose it's OK because my doctor prescribed them, knowing my medical history. At least they aren't Beta blockers.

Good morning everyone on a sunny start to bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. A decent walk yesterday morning in the sunshine spoiled only by a couple of teenagers lighting a fire in the woods and running off when they noticed us approaching. Managed to stamp it out before it took hold. I wonder if it was the same pair who took two books from our local book exchange box and tore them up. What a delightful pair of hero’s - their parents must be so proud. They were in school uniform so I wonder if they were truanting as well. Ah well, a bit different from the usual boring stuff like picking wild garlic and attempting tree blossom haiku’s. Art bit - tenements at dusk. Hope your day is a good one. I ought to have some more koffy.

Thank you for sharing the art Shame about those two boys but your prompt action almost certainly saved a bigger problem

Hopefully your doctor will have consulted some pharmacological text about that - or a pharmacist

I take your point but I believe the pharmacy will still be open during normal working hours so those who can’t or don’t want to use it will be able to get their prescriptions in the normal way.
We have had ours delivered to us since before covid.
on a Tuesday every four weeks. Mrs L is in blister pack.
still have issues, but nowt too dramatic.

Hate it.
I cannot even use an ATM because I am not quick enough with my hands. And because my hands/fingers cannot press the buttons adequately for it to register. I have the same problem in using my iPad, and any device, because not every button that I press for the letters, comes up correctly, my fingers just not do it properly. Which is why I end up speaking for most of my posts... I have had this problem with my arthritis for more than 20 years now...
I'm getting close to that with my right hand.
Bloody arthritis.
It's been less painful today maybe something to do with the warmer weather and seeing the sun???

6.8 on the Richter scale, no, got that wrong!!!!

I'm just giddy with having a warm day, the sun, the heat, the actual sitting in my garden.
And the bonus of having #5 #7 & #8 running around enjoying it so much, with myself and Mrs L watching.
#7 gave us a performance of her latest gymnastics moves and her upcoming events.
not a bad news day! No moaning, no griping today!
have only a few more sessions with counsellor.
it seems, he is also of a opinion, that I'm doing a lot better.
Forensic examination of a typical circumstance, has highlighted the triggers, the behaviour, the irritation, the anger and of course the rumination of fear, dread, what if, the reaction of over thinking and worry.

Oh yeah, it's raining hard now.
But it was nice to get over fifteen degrees for the first time this year.
Gonna take Mrs L out tomorrow if it is not raining.

My best sunny best wishes to you lot out there as usual.

A good day

Beautiful sunny day in Northern California.
Thursday Morning 4.61. Yesterday I ate some Indian tandoori chicken with Aghani Nan. I was expecting FBG to be higher. I think portion control kept it low!.
I do like a meal cooked in a tandoor. Tonight, something a bit wetter though and with vegetables rather than bread. Might need some yoghurt on top as it’s a bit warm.

Years ago, when we still had a GP at this surgery @dunelm well before Covid and lockdowns, I checked some meds the GP had prescribed me. I'd read the leaflet of the meds my doc had prescribed me, and I thought they were contraindicated in every way for me. So, I back to my pharmacy, and said I was concerned, and why. The pharmacist was shocked took them off me. It could have been fatal if I had taken it.

Pharmacists have a better grasp of this mix and match than a GP I think. When I did my three week residential back pain course we had a pharmacist on hand to talk about pain relief meds - so informative. For serious drug mixes I think specialist surgical teams may be the way to go.

Good news all round. I ignored the strike through and assumed you meant you need the sprinkler after the recent hot spell.

Tandoor chicken is my favorite, with vegetables and no bread is a good idea. I like steamed vegetables(no starchy vegetables).
Thanks for the reply!

Agree, sometimes doctors are not aware of contra indications. If in doubt ask your pharmacist.

Before my favourite ever Indian restaurant closed.
I would walk down and get a half chicken.
Tandoori cooked.
Heavenly.
Just the chicken and onion, with parsley (I think).
My mouth is now watering.
