What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B: hm lc yoghurt with milled seeds and 6 blackberries

Early lunch of 2 scrambled eggs in 2 slices HiLo bread. Cwc

A long cold afternoon in a field helping run Scouts activities for St Georges day. Having planned ahead I avoided the carb heavy (sandwich, crisps, cake and chocolate amd fruit lunch provided)

Mid afternoon I did sneak a 2 finger kitkat.

D: cooked 200 burgers and 150 hot dogs. Ate 2 burgers (no buns) and 2 slices cheese. Left before the pudding cakes were brought out.

Boy it was cold. Hot chocolate made with Baileys when home.

For such a long cold day carby day, my total could have been a lot worse.

I hope not too many people, leave this thread. Low carbing is not just about the actual food, but the motivation and how to stick to it, how to navigate eating it in today's society, when to eat (fasting etc), effect of activity/illness is all relevant too.
Maybe chat about non relevant topics should be elsewhere but every day eating and food should be here.

I'm inclined to agree @MrsA2. The many facets of food, shopping for and growing ingredients, cooking and eating are helpful to newbies and veteran low carbers alike, I would have thought.
 
Evening all

Today:

B: Two poached eggs and scallops, asparagus spears smothered with butter, all seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Aperitif: dry white wine.
Tuna steaks rolled in finely chopped celery and oregano, baked with sweet red peppers and aubergines, moistened with double cream and topped with extra mature Cheddar cheese.
Steamed French beans and mangetout with a knob of butter..
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Four squares, Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% cocoa chocolate.

D: Seafood salad made with king prawns and brown shrimps, avocado, baby plum tomatoes, salad onions and Kalamata olives with home-made aioli for dipping and topped with roasted macadamia nuts.
Water to wash down tablets.

I've gone off fish which makes me a bit sad, because I used to love it - however you've given me a little ray of hope there by mentioning scallops, I might just have to give them a try again!
 
Yesterday afternoon I worked 6 hours on yet another ship, brought a head of chicory and a tub of hummus to eat at work, and had a slice of cheese my skipper provided. Very good day!
Very tired when I came home, and I contemplated simply having a LC sandwich for my evening meal instead of cooking.

First a beer with my neighbour though, who just happened to be cooking chicken again. This time a chicken from a different neighbour who always has too many males and asks my friend to help her get rid of some, in exchange for the meat.
I had bought green asparagus so I offered to add them and share. :joyful:

One smallish cockerel, a bunch of asparagus, and 4 turkey eggs mashed with butter and salt turned out to be a perfect meal for two. :hungry:

I stayed with my neighbour, I had a handful of crisps before bed to prevent the lows that tend to happen when I sleep with him, and I think we both slept some 10 hours, no BG alarms and waking up with a lovely 4.8. :happy:

I'm going to draw a veil over this morning. I went back to the camp to help take everything down but arrived as they were dishing out 200 packed breakfasts cereal, croissants, pain au chocolat and pancakes. And then there was free range on any leftovers... kit kits, penguins, biscuits galore.

It was cold and my resolve failed.

Back home, back on track.2 cold chicken thighs.

Dinner will be chicken with bacon and mushrooms slow cooked in red wine. Its bene in since 7 am and smells wonderful.

All the best with your GP appointment - I'm sure when you feel ready you'll make the necessary changes to get back on track :)

Well you know what do, and what not to do. Don't be in a state of denial, that'll get you nowhere. Just grasp that nettle. It won't be too bad.

We know you mean well @IanBish but I should hope the OP has got it together by now. That message was posted in 2015.

So pleased @jpscloud. Diabetic-friendly, tasty and nourishing, scallops are 80 percent protein, so should help you feel full for longer!
