What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I think big letters - DO NOT KNOCK - USE THE BELL.
Mind you, you may need a Heath Robinson type contraption that smacks their hand each time that they try and knock.
Thank you @dunelm for that clear message to impart to them.
Working on the Heath Robinson contraption now....looking in the garage for parts...

So many tomatoes, but sadly the plum varieties which are best for cooking are not doing so well. Have made several batches of cherry tomato and chilli jam, which is actually a chutney, some came out hot and others mild. All different varieties of baby plum tomato. Sadly no home grown chillies this year, but some big juicy looking sweet peppers. All green so far.
The aubergine plant is not doing well, being alternately scorched and soaked doesn't suit it at all. Slugs have hollowed out one fruit entirely and damaged others. I made mousakka yesterday, but unfortunately got distracted and the aubergines were left too long in the oven. Only about 25% were usable. What a waste. Runner beans still producing, French beans are over. Planning to put strawberry plants there now. Am good at planning - not so good at action. Need to buy winter veg plants and get them in as well.
Harvested all the onions and shallots. Now should really make them into strings, or possibly make red onion marmalade. Very popular and last year some red onions went rotten, so good idea to use some up now, but motivation is low to do anything. Need D3 still it seems. I had hoped that in summer my naturally produced supply would build up to the point where supplementing it would be unnecessary, but it seems not. Maybe GP was right - will be taking this for life. Or maybe pharmacist who said the amount prescribed is insufficient? Either way, by the end of the month I can now recognise the emotional and mental effects of Vitamin D3 depletion. Physical effects take much longer to become apparent.
MrSlim has changed plan for trip to UK, now I will be accompanying him, and returning home in a few days with the car. After visiting my mother and meeting Son2's fiancee. Am not happy about his suggestion that I visit Mum on my own, only because of the amount of driving. But perhaps he is not able to do so much driving either until his ribs have totally recovered.
Before leaving need to clean house, tidy garden, leave keys for Immoblier. Arrange care for Kiki. Packing, cooking. All before Tuesday? Sounds impossible to me.
Still need to check that this will work for him. How will he be able to obtain building materials? Delivery? Borrow a car? Should he take his bike? MK is a bike friendly city.

A very busy few days @SlimLizzy and lots to organise...best of luck..

@gennepher May be a motion sensor door bell would alert you when door was approached.
Amazon do one by Cruxer.
Thanks very much @JohnEGreen

The one I have currently is this.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Doorbell-Waterproof-Wireless-Operated-Ringtones/dp/B09DL9VJLF
I bought extra units so they can go everywhere, even the garage, or garden and potting shed albeit on an extension lead.
But I need the flashing light this one has, because I don't actually hear the doorbell, and most often at home I don't wear the cochlear sound processor, because (and especially this hot weather) the magnet in my head for the processor to connect up to sound, aches and is sore and gets a red rash (and when this happens, I have to disconnect the processor immediately and go to the hospital or else I could develop an infection and lose the implant). I need the strongest magnet to hold the processor in place because it falls off easily, and consequently I can only wear the processor for quite short periods of time, and certainly not all day.

I love your idea, but unless I can think of something, even Heath Robinson style (I am being serious here), to connect or 'marry' one device to another (possibly to the system I already have, since I have invested in it, I need a flashing light unit for each room, and the garage as I paint in there, and for the potting shed) .....

But I will look through the other motion sensor doorbells and see if there is something suitable.

All I need is for that darn postie or delivery guy to ring the bell on the system I already have!!!

Thanks again.

Good afternoon from a far too nearly autumnal L.A.. Although I feel some guilt not posting any fbg this is in the general chat section so I'm not stretching things too far. @gennepher thank you for the brilliant creative which is an amazing transformation from the source image. @dunelm thank you for sharing another example of your facility for rendering trees in so many different ways. @Annb hug for the pain and early rising. @JohnEGreen hug for the too low fbg. Here, there are far too many family events/milestones for my poor old mind. Oldest granddaughter's birthday. She is in Southampton with mum not #2 son and his family, long story. Oldest grandson started secondary school today and will be here soon, hopefully enthused not traumatised - I've seen a few who were over the years. The Little Guy ™ started Pre-school with all the formality that entails for a 3 year old. #1 sons's partner's birthday - very long term relationship but neither want the elaborate wedding upon which her mum would insist. With the dull weather, being here, the lack of the ideal of (married) mum, dad and 2.4 kids my progeny's lives feel just a tad off course - quite where did I go wrong/how the heck did we get here? No judgement on various family arrangements, just not my personal preference for my children and grandchildren. Not a perfect song choice but the gist is there. Have a good day.

Thank you @ianpspurs and birthday good wishes all round. Hope The Little Guy enjoys Pre-school as much as The Girl In The Bubble did and who started in Reception today (big school).

My parcel?
Postie did neither.
Neither knocked nor rang bell.
Left it on doorstep.
Then when I opened it, the seller had sent the wrong items.
Contacted seller. Seller said she didn't stock nor sell those items.
Seller insisted it was not her bag either, and that I should contact the Royal Mail. Bag and contents are in a ziploc bag currently.
Seller said I had to complain to Royal Mail, because she insisted the items must have been swapped/taken in transit. But her name and address and a printed photo of the item I should have had were in the postage bag.
Seller was selling on Etsy.
This was a present I was going to give someone. With what was in the postage bag, I am so glad I did not have it sent directly to the person...

That was not all. I had ordered a second item off Etsy. A different seller. A little present for me. But that did not arrive either today. So, followed tracking, which told me it had been delivered to a street in Birmingham. There was a photo of it left in a slightly open doorway almost identical to my doorway. I had to look twice. I took screenshots of all the so called tracking. And contacted the seller. Seller said she had no idea what had happened. The tracking number I had been given by Royal Mail was not the tracking number my seller had been given. But when she followed her tracking number, it led nowhere, she said. She said to complain to Royal Mail.

So two items from Etsy, by different sellers, to be received by me today by Royal Mail have both gone wrong. Seller 1 insisted that the contents had been changed. The second item goes to a completely different city, and that seller hasn't a clue what happened here except Royal Mail had given me and her two different tracking numbers. But I do recall the tracking for that one said no tracking available for a couple of days, and then it changed to tracking available.

I don't believe nor trust anything. I am well out of pocket, and this is going to be time consuming...

For a start, I won't be buying anything on Etsy again, because two packages going badly wrong, and Royal Mail involved in the delivery of both. Not a coincidence in my eyes.

Who is the rogue here?

Not my day...

Good evening. I had an appointment with a GP this morning to discuss my scan and other test results but had to cancel due to a really "nasty"cold. No idea where it came from but I wish it would hurry up and go! Spent most of the last two days in bed feeling really poorly so no testing. Best wishes to everyone and whatever your needs/ wishes I hope they are met.

Have also had trouble with deliveries from Etsy. Sent direct because we are in France. Didn't arrive.

Hugs for feeling so poorly @dogslife
Hope you improve quickly.

I have to watch out for the postie this morning, the packet might be too big for the letter box....he never rings the doorbell...and I have a flashing light in each room so I cannot miss the doorbell, but no one ever rings, they quietly knock...which is no use to me...

It happens to me here in London too @gennepher. Who knows why callers knock on the front door rather than ring the doorbell.

Might be an idea to put a poster on your front door requesting your postie to RING THE DOORBELL.

Wednesday's FBG 4.7 mmol/L on waking at 6.00 am.

Good morning everyone on a dull but improving start to the day here in French Froggy France. A flat rated 5.0 this a.m. This internet connection is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. It’s shopping day today. Mum goes on her red dalek scooter to the supermarket and her care assistant, who comes twice a week, helps with the shopping. Later, my niece is coming up from Bordeaux and will stay stay for a day or so. I can feel the call of my parent’s favourite restaurant calling for tomorrow lunch time. Art bit - just a quick sketch of a fed up tree. Hope your day contains some good bits. I shall make koffy and watch the sun breaking up the gloom.
That's what I call a tree with personality @dunelm

From the outside it seems to me that blood glucose and carb control really aren't your main problem and the numbers suggest you have managed them well enough. Post when you want, lurk as you see fit and I certainly appreciate you reading and rating posts. God bless and protect you and may the brighter days continue.
Hi @ianpspurs

Thank you for the kind words.

Couldn't agree more with your viewpoint.

One that I think you accurately summed up once as 'T2D isn't the only snake in the jungle'

Which I think you finely examplify with you own balanced but determined responses to the issues you yourself are facing.

Best wishes & the same blessings to you .
