What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone under a cloud covered sky start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.2 this a.m. A good day out yesterday - down through the woods (photos below), along the lower prom and up the cliff steps taking in a late breakfast. A visit to the post office during the afternoon to catch the last post of the day clocked up a total of 6 miles so pleased with that. Veterans Breakfast Club this morning and also Farmers Market to browse all things farming like Korean Kimchi, Indian samosas and other locally farmed produce. It’s like those traditional Christmas markets and their Tibetan prayer bowls. I should be paid by the council as a diversity tour guide. Art bit - more koffy darling? Probably one more and then something else. Hope your day is a kind one with you in it. Best make some koffy and get moving.
Absolutely great coffee painting... I think it is gorgeous @dunelm

Morning all from L.A. where autumn is showing the worst of itself as far as I'm concerned. Dull, cool, a damp smell in the air, Hive decided money must be spent and I need far too many clothes. Obviously it is a gift to be alive and able to type this but there is something very wrong in waxing lyrical or inventing a whole new reality. I alluded to Thursday afternoon and evening, including food, being Goldilocks times for me but didn't deliver. Over promise (aka lie big) and spectacularly under deliver (aka reality bites) is very much the zeitgeist. So, Thursday afternoon was warm enough for me to be clothed in a long sleeved lightweight UV protective shirt, jeans and UV stabilised baseball cap to cut lawns for the first time this year. The food was 2 flat mushrooms (known as field mushrooms in my family) stuffed with cauliflower rice, mixed with cheese and a little (unsweetened) Hunter and Gather smokey barbeque sauce roasted to perfection in the oven by my Food Fairy. Obviously I should have said I was Super Excited* to share with you this simple keto, 20 minute recipe everyone is talking about. Just how excited is Super Excited*? @JohnEGreen hug for the hypo, winner for the photo. @dunelm well done on the steps yesterday and thanks for sharing the art and photographs. Are they all AI generated though because much of what I read or hear on here and elsewhere makes me seriously think people are living on Another planet? That is until I realise there is a vast amount of money. time and effort being invested in various disinformation/gaslighting - previously called lying - campaigns. I've already read that ginger nuts are fit for human consumption - is there no end to this mendacity? :playful: I'm left hoping for rugby and a casserole ( 2 day process) to be worth the investment of hope and time. Fortunately I know of a source of hope that is pure and true. You do you and enjoy your Saturday whatever planet you or your "social" define as reality but do remember to always be Super Excited* and (over) share everything on your Social because if you don't it didn't really happen. Sorry, I'm being very Grandpaish: we are now in the Beyond Excited era, my bad.

I am feeling a bit (a lot) of stress with this iPad business, and the apps, and the security needed to get into things again, and it's one step forward, two steps backwards.

Yesterday, I realized I possibly still had some tiger worms. After all I put my wormery soil plus some of the tiger worms into my pots and containers and stuff, in my vegetable garden. Would the tiger worms still be there? In the containers, or would the tiger worms have legged it.

Nope, they had not legged it (maybe some had), there were still tiger worms in each of the containers I looked at. This was looking very hopeful as I ended up with a couple of hand fulls of tiger worms. Tiger worms appear to like each other's company and you get a whole pile of them hugging each other!!! Earthworms don't seem to behave quite like tiger worms do. I had to carefully pick out each tiger worm because there was some earth worms in there as well. And that is my job today.

Then I discovered my tree kale, and tree broccoli, which had been eaten to the bare trunk by the cabbage white caterpillars, was now sprouting some new leaves. The new leaves were very tasty...

Last night I got into bed, and I dozed off as you do. I woke up about the time of midnight in the panic... where's my mobile phone. Not on the bed, not on the bedside table, not on the floor. Had I left it on the swing?

Grabbed a torch, just went straight outside. Something jumped off the swing. I couldn't tell if it was a cat or beastie. Something had rearranged the covers and cushions on the swings, and pulled one of the shawls off, and had removed and taken away a cushion... No sign of my phone. I came in convinced that it was now adorning a badger's den... I searched again for everywhere, got back into bed, and felt something hard and rectangular between the blankets. It was my phone I had fallen asleep holding it....

I will look at the trail camera SD card later ...

I think I need a day away from stress... The sun is partially out now...

Creative...coffee painting, but on a shinier paper today, and my first attempt did not work... my second attempt was not quite what I wanted. Nothing wrong with the painting really, it's just me I need something of a different kind of creative which is more relaxing for me at the moment. But when I came to photograph it with the iPad mini, the photograph looked very bleached out. I took it in the same lighting conditions I normally do. Yesterday I noticed it was bleached out but not as much as today's, and yesterday I had to put it through Snapseed to darken it a bit to what it actually was. Today I tried to put it through Snapseed using the same technique but it didn't work because it was far too bleached out. I've tried a few more photos with the iPad mini but they're all looking very bleached out. I tried the setting on the photo screen to darken it a bit but it ended up a mess. Something is wrong with the photographic ability of the iPad mini. I have had this with a couple of other iPads or iPhones when there were nearing the end of their lives ...
So I had to take the Creative photograph with my pixel phone.

Googleing and iPad help gives a load of suggestions, but any more computer work today, and I have a pile of naughty words for that...

So I'm going in my garden now, searching for tiger worms...

There's the resident pigeon sitting on the swing... and the resident robin is sitting on the end of the swing on the arm rest wanting some mealy worms...

In the night something has broken the birds fat balls container and tossed the fat balls on the ground two of them are missing, one was still on the ground this morning...

It is time I edited some more videos....

Have a good day...

Hugo (the Bassett Hound) and I shared the results of a failed bake. It tasted fine, but looked awful so couldn't be given to guests. Hugo didn't mind what they looked like and clearly enjoyed them. I tasted and kept on tasting. 15.9 BG overnight!

10.5 by 05.00. 7.5 now, after breakfast.

Hugo was left here while his family went to town for a couple of hours. He is a fairly elderly dog and will be coming here for about 10 days while his family takes a holiday so it was a chance for him to familiarise himself with the house and us. He's like a big dog with very short legs and I wasn't sure he would manage to use our steps at the back of the house, but he managed fine. He had got himself into trouble at their own house when he got himself onto the half landing of the very narrow stair/ladder and couldn't go up or turn round to go down. On our wide steps, though, he was fine. He decided that, since my big chair was vacant, he could use that as a bed. From that, though, he tried to get onto my lap in the chair beside him. He's a bit too big and heavy for that so had to be pushed away quite a few times before he gave in.

He seems to be shedding his coat a bit so the chair cover is now in the wash, as was my black fleece jacket that I had on yesterday.

Sounds like a lovely relationship is beginning to blossom there ... :)

@Annb you and Hugo seem to be getting along famously though he does sound as though he may be hard work but good company. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative and curate's egg of a post. Phone incident, mysterious visitor to the swing and more iPad mini issues are the bad parts, the Tiger worms and new life in veggies are the good parts. I hope you manage a stress free day. I'm enjoying Gloucester V Bath rugby after shopping - another odd mix of Halloween and Christmas - but should probably feel more guilty about the two players failing HIA tests. At least they have them now but it is an issue in the sports I like. Granted I don't make the athletes play but whilst there is an audience and the money and networking for future careers they are attractive. Serious long term life limiting and ending damage clearly exists, that's not the Woke Nanny State which is one more lie another planet would like to have me believe.

What a time - enjoy the stress free pass time of tiger worm hunting. Lots of wind and movement in this creative and the birds fighting against it.

Thanks @ianpspurs
I managed a stress free day and I didn't look at the internet...

Thank you for the painting compliments @dunelm
I got a lot of tiger worms all together now...and a lot of plants to repot....
Drop dead exhausted here.
A nap first...then I'll see if any info on the SD cards. .

Four hours later, and I am still downloading one of the SD cards ...the iPad is running out of battery, it started at 100% 4 hours ago, these beasties make many appearances in the night, the badgers making the most.

The badgers are outside my bedroom door (to the garden) now at this minute. I must be the zoo attraction in the night...

I am sitting here willing this to upload at least 6 more, the rest won't matter, and then I can shut iPad down before it reaches 0% battery, trying to keep awake here ...

Excellent news about your tiger worms @gennepher. Eisenia fetida has a voracious appetite. You'll be able to put your vegetable peelings and kitchen scraps to good use once more!

Saturday's FBG, 4.3 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.
