What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good afternoon everyone on what so far has been a bright and sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north. A smart 5.5 this am. **** Van Dyke was 99 yesterday and can be seen in the new video made by the group Coldplay (sub titles available if you like). Veterans Breakfast Club this morning and I certainly won’t need much of a supper this evening. Farmers market on way home - sourdough and kimchi, and a fennel bulb that will go into some soup this afternoon - enough to last a couple of days. Girl In The Bubble will be round later on for fun and japes and probably strawberries and yoghurt. Art bit, a bit fiercer looking than intended but never mind. Hope your day is still making headway. Best not drink more koffy though.

Edit: you can’t even have a name now in this world of Stasi-woke-banana-brains editing software - never mind Richard - it’s Supercalifragalisticexpialidocuours or the name of a long winded place in Wales.
You are lucky having a bright and sunny day.... cold and icy rainy here @dunelm
Thanks for the Dickie Van Dyke link. I wish I were that agile now....
I like the fierce art bit. That was a surprise when I clicked on the thumb nail, these aggressive skyscrapers...I like it very much.

Llanfair (short version) was created around 1860 by a tailor, (long version), I think, as a publicity stunt to attract tourists.....

Actually it works really well if you walk alongside the kitchen cupboards with your hand hovering just above the worktop so you can grab it if you wobble @gennepher
Still a problem...my kitchen is too tiny @Krystyna23040 I only have two foot of kitchen surface...
I downsized too much, when I downsized here....

Nighttime wildlife video

Thor is this new Badger's name - will he bring some friends ?
We shall find out hopefully...it looks like he is here to stay...

Same vid on TikTok

Creative is a kaleidoscope in Kaleider. It is a Buddha with red cords (a present from a friend), and a rosary which was blessed for me by a priest at St Winnefriede's Well in Holywell.

It is now 3:00 p.m. and it is getting dark awfully early I need to feed the stray cats and lock up.

It sounds a bit early to say night night sweet dreams, and I will be awake for a little while longer, probably quite a while longer.

It is also time that I cooked my midday meal, a bit late at 3:00 p.m....

So keep warm, do all your exercises. Midnight is asleep in my chair bed besides me which makes me feel like going back to sleep again, but I do need some food...

Take care...

Thank you for sharing the video and Kaleider creative. Feed those strays, have that food and hunker down for the evening/night.

Enjoy your busy day. Do remember to use the ubiquitous Farmers Market kayfabe: how much? TGIB has impeccable taste, is that do Mrs Miggins' influence? .Thank you for sharing the art which will engage my Brian nicely for a while since all the rugby I'd watch is on obscure PPV channels. I can't justify subscribing to anymore. I've read enough for now - the collect directs me to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest not mindlessly stuff myself.
Thank you @ianpspurs for another new word. Strawberries and yoghurt - we are nearly always near Henman Hill here - but not quite.

Actually, there is another really good one you can do for improving balance and proprioception.

You are facing your work surface in the kitchen with hand just hovering above the work surface. Stand on one leg and close eyes.
You are aiming at 3 seconds with eyes closed if you are in your 70s and above. 5 seconds in your 60s. 7 seconds in your 50s. 13 seconds in your 40s and 15 seconds if you are under 50.

If you feel you are going to fall over just place hands on top of work surface.

Of course you can aim for a lower biological age for balance than your chronological age.

As well as improving balance and proprioception, it also strengthens muscles and bones.

The one that ends gogogoch, you mean?
As previously mentioned my multi grand ancestors lived around there.
And yes, it is an unnecessary name. Or if you start at what they call it, - Llan-gee.

7mmols pre match reading this morning.
may I admit to feeling the weather, this match time, in the mostly empty stands, with only my wonderful tribe of nearest and dearest to try and keep me warm. This cold has finally got to be really annoying and changing from inside to outside or even rooms, my nose runs and feel awful.
no appetite to speak of.
got gammon in soak and pre Christmas cucumber and onion in non brewed vinegar is gonna be done tonight, as it is a great side ( they call it now) to roasted gammon.
why is it?
Mrs L has stayed in bed to rest, while I'm out, but as soon as we came in, wanting to get up and start giving orders?

putting my feet up this evening and I have tissues up my nose, another roll of it.up

our kitchen is not that big, two people and there is no standing room. Hence one of the first things we did is out the freezer and dried in the near shed., Cos, there was no way of fitting none of those in. Fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher are, and an oven, cupboards on free walls and other smaller ones between appliances.
You just can't swing a cat, proverbially, even if you wanted to.

Have a pleasing Saturday evening, just try please? my team won, I know, amazing!
Bestest wishes, smile when you can, even in pain!.

Thank you very much @Krystyna23040
Now, that exercise I have the space to do!!!
I am going to try it now...

I have, but either it is too wide, or my arms are too short.:)
Another exercise that is really good is walking backwards. This is not on a tightrope but is just taking normal steps back. It does help balance but is not as challenging as the tightrope.

You would only need to be close to one wall so you could put just one hand on the wall if you felt wobbly.

It is a superb exercise if you have knee, hip or lower back pain and also builds muscle strength more significantly than walking forward.

As you experienced increased pain after your exercise class I would start with only doing 5 steps backwards. If it does not increase your pain levels you can, after a few days, very very slowly increase the number of steps.

Also very important that you imagine your head is like a buoyancy balloon and is floating up towards the ceiling. Chin is tucked a little, like a nod yes, so you are not straining your neck.

5.8 this morning.
We are off to Sheringham Park this morning. Looking forward to a lovely walk. Weather looks better up on the North Norfolk coast than it does here.

First National Trust walk since I sprained my ankle. I will take my Nordic poles so I keep the ankle safe.

Hope you got on well with the one leg balance @gennepher
I can do that easily I said to myself.... @Krystyna23040

I do tai chi, so surely , no problem...

I have an imaginary string from the top of my head reaching to the heavens...when I do a standing still pose with tai chi...that always works....

Not for your standing on one leg exercise...it doesn't.

About one second I've made it so far...
