What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.3 this morning . Does anyone know why my BG drops whilst eating because on the libre mine drops all the time I am eating and for about 5 mins after then of course starts to rise .

I get that too. I’m guessing it’s as the fuel in the food takes over from the fuel the body generates .

I find my libre drops as soon as I sit down for a few minutes (includes eating) then goes up again as soon as I move

With me it’s not just rest but food too

Yesterday I popped out for a steak for lunch. Pre lunch low 5’s post lunch on a mile walk home 4.7. … soon after back up in low 6’s

It was a fatty New York strip and I’m guessing that as my body absorbed the protein and fat it could for a while turn off its own making glucose system

late posting 6.2 this morning. My only news, my back gate was blown off in the storm yesterday - the wind pulled the lock off and split the frame. OH had to anchor the gate it with a bungee cord until he could secure it to the bit of frame that remained. It's secure enough to stay like that until we can get someone out to sort. Hope everyone else was ok?

6.4 on the libre, been awake since 2 a.m. or so, though. Off to a cat café an hour and a half's drive from here. I love their cats, and there's a new Bengal kitten now as well, so better go and introduce myself. That should perk me right up.

6.1 on Libre and 7.5 on finger pricker variation to be expected. Never really know which one is true and won't know until Hba1c blood test in April. Wrt stormy weather we got off very lightly here in Home Counties thankfully, sympathies to all those with loss and damage.

I am a heavy egg eater. The price of eggs went up because of bird flu. Here in California from $3 per dozen to about $13 per dozen, not sure about UK.

Gosh they must be eggs laid by the "Golden Goose". Ours are about £2.79 or thereabouts for a dozen free range. Or if you are prepared to make do with barn eggs, I have seen them as low as £1.33 for 10. Haven't checked the exchange rate but that's got to be a whole lot "cheaper". (Groan!)

FBG this morning was 6.1.
