What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

An early post from me, because I am steering clear of the Internet, daytime hours, today.

I overdid it first thing yesterday. Sun was out. I went in front garden first thing. With my sharp secateurs. I was just cutting back some Ivy, nothing heavy. I enjoyed being in the sun doing that...

I only intended spending 10 to 15 minutes out there. But I spent 25 minutes. It was really light work that I was doing. However, as soon as I came in, I knew I had seriously overdone it. Basically I had done nothing, there was no exertion. I went to bed and I was asleep for the next couple of hours...

How on earth can I maintain everything when this is as much effort as I can put into something?

My HRV etc was way too low this morning. I only slept an hour last night and my Fbg was 9.1 ( but I was awake anyway) And basically, I was told by the app to seriously pace myself today.

I couldn't even get the recycle out last night, so I had to go out very early in the dark to get it out this morning.
Two trips.

But up the road by the doggy poo bin was like that flashing red light on the rear of a cycle. Second trip out to bring the rest of the rubbish out five minutes later.. and that rear red cycle light was still flashing. So I looked towards it. And whatever person was there turned (presumably a bicycle) the front headlamp into my direction.
Stupid girl, I said to myself, they've been there at least 10 minutes in the pitch black dark. They have seen me with my beanie headlamp. No good will come of this. Get in....

The wagon for the recycle comes at 7 am so I had to get the stuff out in the dark. But this was 5 am I was getting the recycle out. I knew I might fall asleep later.

The Sun will be out first thing this morning, and where will I be? In the front garden with my secateurs... but five minutes, I will set a timer.

Just trying for today, a day off screens in day time....

Creative....is my jar of hand cream. When I put it down, I realised the light was shining through, and it looked like a groove of trees.

Have a good day.

Take care.

Yep, grove of trees bathing in the sunshine.

I'll try again, now I'm logged in
I'm new to this chat.
9.7 this morning, but I'm quite pleased with that. First day of insulin yesterday and this is already down from my usual 12-15.
Felt rotten yesterday though - headache, achy limbs, nausea (induced by antibiotics for ?infected foot wound). Saw the doc who was not too concerned, but advised to take it easy for a few days. I've maybe picked up one of the many winter cold viruses doing the rounds.
I am not in the black art insulin club but sure that those who are will tell you it’s a bit trial and error for a while. Keep records.

Thank you. My meter (with it's app) produces quite nice reports, but I write it all down in a book, too.
Diabetes Specialist Nurse (who is lovely, and t1d herself) will phone me twice a week for the next month, then once a week etc).

Good afternoon everyone on a blistering sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north. Temperature is relative of course, just like fasting blood sugar readings. Mine this morning was 6.1 and followed by a chuckled “oops!, but you know what you did”. Lovely wander into town this morning, trying for maximum sunshine, still cold in the shadows. Bloke called Trevor who sits on his stroller outside the supermarket for four hours every day collecting for a local children’s hospice tells us he is now up to £78, 300 and change so far. He has been collecting for quite a few years. Called in a Brockley Hall to check on wheelchair access for Mrs Miggins’ sister on our way home. There is an afternoon tea calling on Sunday. Art bit - is that the way to Elysium or more likely Amarillo? Hope your day is moving along nicely. You don’t have to stay on top of everything - it’s nice to say “I don’t know” but for news gossip, “I don’t care”. Mug of tea time - well I have already had two huge mugs of koffy.

It's Thursday so it's leg day. Felt pretty awful since last night - fluttering heart again and felt so light headed I thought to check my BP before taking pills. It wasn't low low, but for me it was pretty low 153/49. Checked 3 times and it stayed around the same level, so decided not to take my pills.

On the other hand, BG was 8.9 at 05.00 and 11.1 by 07.30. Took a small amount of insulin but no food - I was feeling queazy and it steadied around 10.1 or 2. Felt a bit better when I got home but really painful so took some paracetemol and had some ham with some RyVita. We'll see how that goes.

Thank you for sharing another accomplished example of your artistic talent and the amazing work done by a bloke called Trevor. Elysium is the name of our favourite hotel, in Paphos, to which it seems unlikely we will ever return but a man may dream.

Hug for the fluttering heart and what seems a low diastolic bp level. Good that you made leg day but the pain doesn't sound pleasant. I hope the food and perhaps a nap in the big chair improve things. Take care.

No fbg, finally finished little room for one of the grandkids to have a sleepover.
I did mean to do some garden time but the weather is misbehaving around here (again) rain, hail, windy and cold, so I didn't!

Mrs L is finally convinced that our home is not Mrs L 's home. And wants to go home!
Have I packed? Have I phoned for a taxi? You can do that job, when we get home?????!!!!
And so on, from 3am to now.

Fish for tea.

Oh yeah! Allegedly, I'm in trouble. Mrs L is telling everyone, I have been ........
Oh well, I will defo stay in touch, when I can from Walton.

Well Walton not a nice place at all but if you do end up there I will come and visit you would not be the first person I’ve visited there though the other person was despicable but his friend Melody’s ex who turned out to be a very unpleasant person him self insisted he never done it and could I please drive him there.

Tomorrow in Wigan the funeral of a young guy we knew slightly when we lived there is taking place he in fact was a very nice young man and at one point played for Wigan Athletic football club on there last match they wore shirts with his name on quite touching I thought the woman who managed somehow to run him over in her car twice it would seem has been charged with causing death by reckless driving. The family has decided that the funeral is going to be football themed and every one is to wear Wigan Athletic colours they also are saying that it is to be a celebration of his life so no sadness as he was a happy cheerful person so they wish that to be remembered we obviously can’t be there in person but will be there in spirit.

Morning all from a sunny but frosty start to Thursday for we Brecklanders. Commemoration of the first King Charles being executed, meanwhile tragic news of that crash from Washington. Welcome to @Madfarmerswife and @mark cleaver - do stick around if you can. @jjraak thank you for those kind words. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative and as @Krystyna23040 says have a restful day. No grandchildren here for the rest of today (eldest came in before school), we fed three last evening. Video chats with a big sister/cousin and a lovely video get well message for the poorly Little Guy ™ from the his pre-school class. Technology at its best. Enjoy Thursday - wholly or partially (even if you burn the toast) Someone here left a squeezy honey bottle upside down on the counter, clearly not me since carbs aside I dislike the stuff intensely.
Thank you @ianpspurs
