Hi all,
My partner is 54 years old and was diagnosed with T2 yesterday. His test measured 52. He has had 2 blood tests.
The practice nurse gave him some very poorly photocopied info sheets and a half hour consult and said she would review in 6 months. He has to follow a low carb diet and although she said max 40g per day she said it would be impossible…….
It is soo sad that he feels he has been diagnosed and kicked out! (which is unlike our g p practice). Understandably it’s a shock and he is a rabbit in headlights right now.
there are so many conflicting sites with advice I am getting my head around what we need to do and I am joining him on his journey.
being totally overwhelmed, can anyone give me a starting point please? I appreciate this is a huge lifestyle change and I have read up as much as possible but just a bit confused right now.
thanks you so- much in advance for anything you can advise.
